Not a creature is stirring, not even a mouse here!

Taking a moment to enjoy the peace and quiet, it won't be long until mayhem ensues 😄

Happy Christmas all 🎄

Nope- I got up and fed the cat and put the heating on and the Xmas tree lights. Everyone still asleep- teen and tween.

daffodilandtulip · 25/12/2023 08:17

The dog got into bed with me when I got a cuppa but no other creature is stirring.

And the 14yo went to bed of his own choosing at 8:30pm "so it would come quicker". He's now nearly been asleep for 12 hours. That didn't work did it 🤣

JamieKnows · 25/12/2023 08:20

No, kids are 9 and 12 and happily snoozing but next doors kids are deffo awake 😣

Metallicant · 25/12/2023 08:23

16 and 17 yo both fast asleep

won’t be awake for hours yet

gotomomo · 25/12/2023 08:26

I've been awake for over an hour, just listened to midnight mass from yesterday evening on bbc sounds and no movement at all elsewhere, not even my mother going to cook pastries. Dp just woke needing the loo. No under 18's here though and goodness knows what time the young (and not so young) adults went to bed, I left them at 11.30pm

Timeandtune · 25/12/2023 08:31

DS2 (24) is home for Christmas. Said to waken him at noon ! He did come to Watchnight service with us last night so I am happy enough with that

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 25/12/2023 08:44

Mine have just woken up so about to open stockings then presents 🙌

AuntPru · 25/12/2023 08:45

5yo got into our bed at 1.55am. Took him to his room around 4am as he was fidgeting too much. I don't think he went back to sleep. I was lying on the floor in his room on an old cot mattress. I am back in bed now, I can't function on 3 hours of broken sleep😭

shellyleppard · 25/12/2023 08:46

Happy happy Christmas!!! My two teenagers are still in bed..... they have another half hour before I go in the room and start blasting cheesy Christmas songs at them 😂😂 no prep done at all but the beef is in the oven

LimitedBrightSpots · 25/12/2023 08:47

No, and they are 6 and 2😂!

They had an unexpected late afternoon car nap yesterday so, instead of putting them to bed at 7-8pm as usual, we all stayed up, walked round looking at Christmas lights and went to midnight mass together. Where they were, if not perfectly, at least reasonably well-behaved.

I reckon I've still got another hour to myself. Sat scoffing fudge and drinking coffee in wonder at this unexpected turn of events.

Decafflatteplease · 25/12/2023 08:48

8.10 here couldn't believe it! DH and I woke at 6 though typically 😂

Tigertailss · 25/12/2023 08:56

DD was crying around 5am because she woke at 3am and couldn't get back to sleep. I've had 2 hours sleep and very nervous that I didn't manage to fill the stocking and DD either realised Santa isn't real, or thought they wouldn't get anything because they couldn't sleep. They're ND and NT children would've known about Santa years ago so I don't know what to do. I'm feverish and nauseous and not sure if Christmas is doomed yet.

MissyB1 · 25/12/2023 08:58

I’m the only one up, well Dh is in the shower. Teen ds still asleep. I took the dog out at 7am so I would be ready - needn’t have rushed! Nice to have a bit of calm time though.

YorkshireIndie · 25/12/2023 09:01

The 4yr old has just woken up and is running round the house telling everyone FC has been

Hedjwitch · 25/12/2023 09:08

Nobody awake here. The joys of adult dcs. They will have to be up soon tho to go and visit DH who is in hospital 40 min drive away. Unsurprisingly, no festive fun here sadly.

ErrolTheRednosedDragon · 25/12/2023 09:09

I took my 24yo some coffee a bit after 8, she was awake but snuggled down still. She and DH are getting ready to go for a walk while I potter making lunch, I need to find something entertaining to listen to.

FlowersI'm so sorry. Hope the day goes as well as it can under the circumstances.

Blanketpolicy · 25/12/2023 09:44

His alarm is set for 9:45 and I am getting sausages, tattie scones and buttered rolls ready for him at 10:10 which he'll eat before heading to work as bar staff for others Christmas dinners at a local hotel. Our Christmas dinner and present opening will be after 7pm tonight. It will be a long wait!

Merry Christmas 🎄

namechanger563 · 25/12/2023 10:23

My DS is not up yet. I'm so sad. He's 12 and this is the first year it's not been 6am or earlier. Yes I've enjoyed the lie in. But now I'm sad the magic of Christmas is gone for him.

stayathomer · 25/12/2023 10:25

Sent eldest (the 15yo!!!!!) back to bed at 4. The rest were all bouncing by 6. I am now eating crisps and chocolate because it feels like 4 in the afternoon 😅

RedRobyn2021 · 25/12/2023 10:25

Mine woke at 5:15am

She's 2y10m and very excited about Christmas

RedRobyn2021 · 25/12/2023 10:25

She's asleep now though 😂

HollyBollyBooBoo · 25/12/2023 10:26

5.30am...gonna be a loooong day!

ssd · 25/12/2023 10:33

1 ds up 1 still sleeping

Frequency · 25/12/2023 10:39

My two (17 and 20) are awake. They have replied to my WhatsApp telling me not to come upstairs so I assume they are doing last-minute present wrapping.
