Dog barking in a hotel...

We checked in today for a Christmas break. It cost 1400 for the two of us. I can't believe it but they allow dogs to stay in the hotel in 11 of the 38 rooms. I obviously need to do more research in future as it never entered my mind that a small luxury boutique hotel ( their words) would allow this. One dog is now barking - not continuously but more than I would like to hear ie none! Lesson learnt for future. Wish I'd brought the cats! Hopefully we will have a peaceful night 😮

Have you contacted reception about the barking? Digs staying in hotels is one thing, dogs barking in hotels is entirely another.

I travel with My dog and so stay everywhere with her - and you’d never know as she’s not allowed to bark indoors!

Complain to reception, dogs shouldn’t be left alone in the rooms to bark. That’s usually in the T&C’s so they can warn the dog owners to stop it.

I am going for dinner soon so will see how it goes between now and then. Hopefully it settles.

Well, don't do that thing where you quietly seethe all night about something that Hotel Reception would be able to help with.

Definitely tell Reception. They may be able to move you! If you don't mention it, nothing will change.

Hotels advertise that they accept well-behaved dogs. Not anxious barkers

Yes it is and we are here for three nights. Total relaxation and we're in a lovely part of the country. Now if only the weather would clear up a bit but doesn't matter really. We have a beautiful view from our room.

Don’t have a dog but the room next door does. They’ve obviously gone down to dinner and left the poor thing on its own in a strange room. It has barked continuously for the last hour and a half interspersed with mournful howls. Not the dogs fault. It’s the selfish gits that own it.
