People whose appearance doesn't match their voice

I've been speaking to a client for a few months with a deep booming voice. He visited this week and I was expecting Brian Blessed but he's small, slim and cleanshaven. Has anyone's appearance ever surprised you?

Decades ago, when I was a young secretary (as they were called then) I often had to put calls through to another manager at a different site. What a gorgeous warm, sexy voice he had. The other staff thought so too.

One day, he turned up for a meeting. He was a perfectly lovely man, but let's just say his appearance was a bit of a disappointment after that big build up!

Haha I've had a similar experience- beautiful voice, shame about the face!

There's a chap at work who has a lovely voice, even doing some official recordings for answer phone messages etc;
I had such an image of him in my head, the reality was rather disappointing!

I have experienced this kind of thing when i was in dire straits with water rates or council tax debts with a balliff called out,

I went into panic mode he was right outside my house then he rang me i spoke to me,
he said he could sense someone was by side of me,

i later on came downstairs and was convinced he had been talking to someone else instead i didn't look feminine enough for the sound of my voice,

My uncle used to be a sports' commentator on the radio.
He sounded much younger (and fitter) than he looked.

When people came up to him and asked "Are you XX?" he said he often felt like saying "please can you say that again without the disappointment in your voice." 🤣

By all accounts I have an absolutely lovely phone voice. The reality is I'm a pensioner and most definitely show my age 😂

We have a local radio presenter called Jonathan Vernon Smith and he looks very different to how he sounds, I think.

There's an erotic hypnotist who I enjoy listening to on YouTube. He has a sexy Dutch accent with a deep sensual tone. I was a bit surprised to find out what he looked like, he is cute with a nice smile, but not what I was expecting.

I always found plumbers/mechanics so helpful over the phone they often squeeze me in even though very busy. It took one mechanics very obvious disappointment that I am HRTQueen for me to realise what was happening😆

The singer from Gomez has a lovely deeply gravely voice, it’s very hit. I thought the Adrian Mole lookalike was a junior roadie
