I've been speaking to a client for a few months with a deep booming voice. He visited this week and I was expecting Brian Blessed but he's small, slim and cleanshaven. Has anyone's appearance ever surprised you?

There's guy who works in a shop on my nearest high street. He has an incredibly sexy, deep voice....he is very very unsexy though 😂wont say more because i don't want to be a cow but his voice definitely doesn't match his look. He is very friendly and polite though.

There's an erotic hypnotist who I enjoy listening to on YouTube. He has a sexy Dutch accent with a deep sensual tone. I was a bit surprised to find out what he looked like, he is cute with a nice smile, but not what I was expecting.

His confidence on the pitch and classic good looks don’t match his hesitant light voice with a Wigan accent.

I am constantly surprised by the rugby player and former Scotland captain Greig Laidlaw.

Wee terrier of a fella with a booming bass voice. Gets me every time.

I think he only looks small because he was surrounded by the massive dudes in the pack.

I've met him and he's a perfectly normal height (for a Scotsman) around 5'10 I'd say (and was supremely fit and muscly when I saw him in real life, swoon!) really nice chap too, spent ages with the fans, especially the kids.

I had a friend who I worked with, not a tooth in her head and always a different wig on due to illness. When she answered the phone at work you could hear the men swooning. They could probably hear me laughing in the background 😆

The singer of the band volbeat doesn't look like he should have that voice to me, I imagine a 6 foot well built viking and here come a skinny little rockabilly.

I can't through stones though I have a REALLY high squeaky irritating childish talking voice (I apparently talk in my head voice) but my singing voice is in the second octave and sound bonnie tyler-esq as if I smoke 100 a day (apparently my chest voice).

I'm told regularly I have a massive vocal range but I have an odd dead spot where the two don't actually connect. Its either deep and rough or high and squeeky theres not really a 'normal' voice in the middle.

Redd Pepper - the man with the impossibly rumbling deep voice who does all of the trailers for the Hollywood films:

You'd probably picture somebody who's a cross between Barry White and Denzel Washington, but I think he actually looks quite like RuPaul!

There was a boy in the year below me at school with a really deep, booming, authoritative voice. You could hear him a mile off.

He was quite short and slight for his age (13 or 14) with a shock of frizzy blond hair.

Sounded like an Old Testament prophet.

Lots of people have beaten me to George Ezra! Owen Farrell I agree with you too. Another rugby one is Ken Owens did a comedy double take first time I hears him speak in an interview - so articulate and measured in contrast to his on field persona.

During corona I did a lot of telephone calls instead of face to face meetings. It was quite odd afterwards when we went back to face to face. Apparently I sound as if I should have curly hair. I did say to one guy you sound taller on the phone.

Decades ago, when I was a young secretary (as they were called then) I often had to put calls through to another manager at a different site. What a gorgeous warm, sexy voice he had. The other staff thought so too.

One day, he turned up for a meeting. He was a perfectly lovely man, but let's just say his appearance was a bit of a disappointment after that big build up!

You have just reminded me of someone I used to be in regular phone contact with at work when I was in my 20s. He was French and had the most wonderful accent.

After a few months we met in person. He was probably in his 50s and not at all the tall dark and handsome man I had imagined. It was a huge disappointment!
