@MrsTerryPratchett

We’ve always fancied goose but DH is worried there wouldn’t be enough plus leftovers.

It is a stretch if you're feeding anything over 6 people. We make goose Tom Kha Gai (spelling?) with the bones.

OverTheGrip · 22/12/2023 04:16

@Flatandhappy

Hopefully not too hot then!

Parsnips!
How could I forget we have parsnips

Usually have an Indian takeaway, this year we are having a hot buffet/ a bunch of starters we're going shopping tomorrow and everyone can choose what they'd like. I want a prawn cocktail, some duck and orange pate and crusty bread, some pigs in blankets and samosa's and a trifle for dessert. The kids want chicken satay, tempura prawns and cheesecake.

I love a roast but noone else does so I refuse to spend time and effort for no appreciation.

BeatriceBatchelor · 22/12/2023 06:45

Quorn roast
Roasted carrots, parsnips, onions
Steamed brocolli and cauliflower
Stuffing and veg gravy
Yorkshire pudding.

Yes, I know it's controversial but Xmas lunch is the natural habitat for Yorkshire pudding and it's a hill I'm prepared to die on.

AuntieMarys · 22/12/2023 06:46

A cheese and charcuterie board.

StoatofDisarray · 22/12/2023 06:52

Partner is vegan!

No starter but a glass of sherry

Goose
Apple sauce and redcurrant jelly

Sage and onion stuffing (vegan)
Roast potatoes with garlic and rosemary plus a few separately cooked in goose fat

Later, there will be vegan "blue cheese", stilton, crackers or oatcakes, nuts in the shell, vegan and regular Christmas cake, all that sort of stuff.

WaitingfortheTardis · 22/12/2023 06:56
