Anyone else crawling through the week!?

Ravenclaw101 · 19/12/2023 19:33

Just crawling by this stage through to Friday when we all finish school and work. Work is as busy as ever, bonkers queries coming in left right and centre. I have wrapped nothing and my house is upside down.

How is it only Tuesday?? 😩

Me too! It's Just too busy!! Mainly though I just need payday which is Thursday as I have about a £1 in the bank one bar of fuel and four kids that are like locusts! We are eating freezer surprise till then thank god for school dinners!!

decemberchills · 19/12/2023 19:43

Yes. It's really dragging. I am done.

MagentaRocks · 19/12/2023 19:44

I like that it’s only Tuesday as I am working nights Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I have some nice things planned before then so would love it to drag.

Purplecatshopaholic · 19/12/2023 19:44

Yup, exhausted and just focusing on getting to Friday!

TurkeyMalarkey · 19/12/2023 19:46

Crawling towards the end of the week…actually, I’m kind of lying on my stomach weakly body surfing 😆. Crawling is too hard.

I’ve got a chest infection, my kids have both had covid and I work in education so no chance of sick days off without royally shafting other tired, sick staff and fucking everybody right off. Kids at school coughing and snotting and squabbling and pretty much done with the term.

I think I will just fall into Christmas and not get back up again for a week.

DelilahBucket · 19/12/2023 19:49

Yes, self employed online retailer here on the tail end of a shocking virus and just crawling to the weekend. I'm not even on hands and knees anymore 😭. I'm hoping for a half day on Friday so I can finally get some Christmas related things done.

MrsTwatInAHat · 19/12/2023 19:57

Yes. Knackered. Too much work, too many errands, too much Christmas stuff I haven’t done yet, random stuff I have to do that keeps popping up all over the place, gaaaaaahh. Plus constant extra, unplanned for expenses. 😱

CruisingForAMusing · 19/12/2023 19:59

Same.
I thought I'd take it a bit easy at work but I've got an urgent deadline on Thursday that I'm working towards. And that is making me struggle to feel very Christmassey.

RaininSummer · 19/12/2023 20:02

Struggling. Still getting over the last lurgy and have to work to end of day on Saturday. Compounded by getting wet in way to work today and having to attempt to dry dress out under hand dryer.

SecondUsername4me · 19/12/2023 20:04

Same, and we have two family birthdays to fit in this week, my work has had its deadline cut by 5 days due to the festive shut down (no extensions!), and I'm trying to prep the food we promised to bring along on Christmas day to my Dad's house.

I can't decide whether to just work work work or just sit and watch the Crown with a glass of fizz and reassure myself that it will all work out in the end.

LorlieS · 19/12/2023 20:06

As a primary teacher with a class of 30 knackered and grumpy 7 and 8 yo's, cannot wait until 3pm tomorrow!!!

RaisinsOfMildAnnoyance · 19/12/2023 20:10

Like wading through treacle at knee height. Maybe even hip height. The last week of this term is always the worst.

SlatternIsMyMiddleName · 19/12/2023 20:33

I could cry with the work stress I am currently under.

I have some Christmas stuff done but so much more to do.

I need time, so much more time.

AllProperTeaIsTheft · 19/12/2023 20:37

Yup. Ds breaks up tomorrow, but my school doesn't finish until Friday. I'm absolutely done-in. Pretty much over the cold and cough, but my vouce isn't back to normal and I still feel a bit rubbish.

Ravenclaw101 · 19/12/2023 20:43

Yeah the kids are absolutely exhausted and desperate to finish. School have just announced PJ day on Thursday (whyyyy) and I don’t think my kids have pjs that are fit to be worn in public at this point so I’ll just…add that to my list…

Me too, I'm jiggered and lots of annoying fiddly jobs still do. Working the rest of the week and fighting off a cold.

I just want to stay home in my pyjamas but I can't .

I'm glad it's not just me that feels like this about PJ days 😫

Emilyjayne942 · 19/12/2023 20:51

Yep, I’m with you there. I finish work lunch time Friday and get 10 lovely days off, my kids break up Friday too and I’m just trying to make it through. A lot of work to be done and I still need to do all my wrapping and the food shop. But we’re nearly there.

BooBooBaloo · 19/12/2023 21:27

I have got a terrible cold and two more days to go. Counting down the minutes!

givethedoggerbone · 19/12/2023 22:26

Same!!!

DH and I split after twenty years 6 weeks ago and I've just been focusing on getting to the end of this week.

I love my job but I'm a mental health counsellor and I'm running out of steam, I finish on Friday morning but the rate I'm going I might not make it til then.

Absolutely hate cancelling client sessions but feel I'm on the brink of burnout (and yes I have good supervision!)

Goldenphoenix · 19/12/2023 22:30

Yes, am on my knees with work stress from my new job and not sleeping because I can't stop worrying. It's very sad.

Not ready for Christmas, house is a state and not finished shopping. Did wrap some stuff the other day but no food shop booked and no idea when I can do it. Bah

TeaMistress · 19/12/2023 22:38

Me too...this week feels like its crawling by. Work is insane. I've got all the gift shopping / wrapping done and the food shopping is all sorted. The turkey, beef and gammon are in the freezer. The social engagements are all done. Grocery order is due for delivery on Thursday so gives me time to rush to shops if anything is missing. Due to finish work at noon on Friday for Christmas. Just a few more days everyone. Nearly there

Just send them in regular weekend clothes

KThnxBye · 20/12/2023 18:12

I can’t wait to be done, but I’m not sure when I’m going to do all the Christmas things! Finish work on Christmas Eve at 5.30pm. Back to work 8.30am on the 27th.

I’ve not managed to get an online shop this year, the house is upside down, no food in as yet, a small mountain of presents left to wrap, and I’m catering for 14 Xmas day and 19 Boxing Day. I’ve a ridiculous amount of baking to do, nothing it bought or prepped, and I’m on works night out tomorrow as well, going straight from work so it will be a 9am-11.30pm kind of day.

There are some 4am bedtimes in my near future…

Decafflatteplease · 20/12/2023 18:15

Same here. 4 DC are exhausted and ratty after such a long term, this is the latest we've ever broken up! Obviously I'm looking forward to Christmas but I think I'm most looking forward to twixmas when we can all just slob around!
