Amazon voucher.

shearwater2 · 19/12/2023 07:07

A bottle of Bailey's. Haven't bought any yet.

elQuintoConyo · 19/12/2023 07:13

Lego. Then I could re-wrap it for a niece/nephew.

Chocolates

Ragwort · 19/12/2023 07:18

Personally I'd love a charity gift card but I know they are not for everyone. I volunteer in a charity shop and last night someone called in and bought a gift card for their team secret Santa, she told me she worked in some sort of recycling/sustainability organisation and the one she chose was really appropriate.

Otherwise I would be happy with a decent bottle of wine, nice chocs ... but everyone's taste is different so what others consider is a 'good' wine or chocs might not be my taste!

My DS got a £20 note as his SS ... wrapped imaginatively (buried in concrete Confused) - he was delighted!

I once got a massive jar of cherries in some sort of alcohol as a secret santa. They were awesome, would never have justified buying them for myself but they were a great treat with ice cream and lasted ages (the jar really was massive).

Cherries in kirsch. I bought a jar in Waitrose on Saturday. I put the cherry with a bit of kirsch in a champagne glass and top with champagne. Delish

Good idea actually they are £9.50 in the gift shelves in Waitrose at the moment!

MerryMarigold · 19/12/2023 07:19

Neals yard shower gel

ExpensiveDecorations · 19/12/2023 07:20

Neals Yard from Waitrose, hand or bath things rather than face as my facial skin is sensitive.

NO to alcohol, candles, scarves, gloves.

Tesco cremant. It's made by a very reputable champagne house.

Or the aldi monsigny champagne which is very decent.

I have heard this before but my Tesco doesn’t stock it 😡

I’d like dark chocolate or florentines, fizz, socks or gloves, maybe a scratch card for an element of fun…

DeathMetalMum · 19/12/2023 07:28

Luxury chocolates or biscuits, maybe shortbread. Baileys or Ballycastle from aldi, maybe one of the special flavours. A nice scarf.

No to candles or any toiletries. Maybe hand cream at a push.

TrobadoraBeatrice · 19/12/2023 07:28

Fancy foodstuff from Waitrose - tins of Ortiz tuna if they have it in store! Or anything stocked by Brindisa.

Yes I agree with this

I'd hate a scarf, I've got loads of them

I'd be cool with a candle but if it were a choice between cheaper own brand or smaller brand name I'd do that

Switchandflake · 19/12/2023 07:31

Get her a bottle of wine from Waitrose and one of those White Company dupe candles from Aldi.

Nobody wants a tin of tuna 😂

jgw1 · 19/12/2023 07:32

Trees.

LadyBird1973 · 19/12/2023 07:32

Waitrose sell nice reed diffusers and candles. In my local one they aren't by the normal household cleaners aisle but in the John Lewis section. I'd like the 'love' one. And a packet of Lilly O'Brian salted caramel buttons.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 19/12/2023 07:33

I really really want some cherries in kirsch now, mmmm

CornishTiger · 19/12/2023 07:33

Neals yard at Waitrose. Aromatic shower gel if for a female. Or the women’s balance Bath salts if on offer

Whattodo112222 · 19/12/2023 07:34

Can't go wrong with a nice scented candle and a box of chocolate sea shells.

jay55 · 19/12/2023 07:34

Tin of biscuits or a couple of bars of chocolate and a bag of Christmas pretzels.

CornishTiger · 19/12/2023 07:34

Ooohh they are.

wellingtonsandwaffles · 19/12/2023 07:36

Pretty bauble or little decoration. If Waitrose perhaps something from their home section. Plants in pots always nice too!

OMGitsnotgood · 19/12/2023 07:38

What I would appreciate, since that was your question: wine: Baileys; Amaretto.
A Poinsettia and some chocolates.
A selection of Christmas goodies.

But you do need to know something about the person.

YoullCatchYourDeathInTheFog · 19/12/2023 07:39

Lego Creator kit. Copy of Murdle (Richard Osman recommended it and it sounds fun). Nice big mug for the office. Power pack for phone. Selection of Teapig fruit teabags.

But I agree that cherries in kirsch are a great idea. Lots of uses over Xmas.

YoullCatchYourDeathInTheFog · 19/12/2023 07:40

And yes you could get a nice little orchid in a jar from Waitrose for that budget.
