If you're over 50, what supplements do you take?

I'm on HRT and also take magnesium to help me sleep but I feel like I'm still lacking in energy levels. I exercise 4-5 times a week but sometimes it's an effort to motivate myself. I feel constantly tired. Thinking of taking B12 as well.

What do you take for energy levels?

Iron because I'm anaemic and vitamin D. This seems to have lifted my energy.

Nothing. Why would I? I feel fine, and I'm pretty cynical about supplements, which just seem like a way for the manufacturers to make money.

The OP wasn't asking whether people do or don't, but asking what they take IF they do. And she was asking over 50s as I presume she is in that age group.

You're right to check what you're putting in your body.

I've cut it down to just a multivitamin, fish oil and magnesium. I had blood tests recently and I was over the recommended range for Vitamin D and one of the B vitamins. I feel better now I've cut the B and D supplements out, I think I've been overdoing them for a while.

Hair and nail multivitamin, Vit D, magnesium and turmeric with black pepper which has really helped the stiffness.

FWIW my mum lived to 94 and was on HRT but also took high doses of Vitamin C daily

Just vit D when I remember. No HRT.
