Things that are currently lost

Old batteries (to be recycled but should be beside my bed atm)
Chocolate coins for a stocking (I definitely haven't eaten them)
My wallet (bugger!)

What is lost in your house today?

P.s. I rarely lose stuff so I'm perplexed!

My youth and sanity 😂

vipersnest1 · 14/12/2023 22:12

My energy and stamina are long gone thanks to fibromyalgia.

PuttingDownRoots · 14/12/2023 22:14

I today I located the TV remote that I last saw last Friday.

It was on the TV stand. I never thought to check there!!

Howmanysleepsnow · 14/12/2023 22:27

Half of every pair of school socks.
The ladder.

ilovepixie · 14/12/2023 22:35

My toblerone. Was on top of the fridge. Everyone else is house insists they haven't eaten it.

Theforeverhome · 14/12/2023 23:05

A new iPhone charger received a few weeks ago and now needed.

Curtain material for our bedroom to match a pair already made. I’ve not seen it for some time and hope it’s not been thrown away 😳

BreakfastAtMilliways · 14/12/2023 23:15

The metal beaters to our electric hand mixer. Most likely to have fallen down into the gap between the (fitted) kitchen cupboards and the wall (but not far enough down to reach the floor where we could possibly retrieve them).

A present for PILs which DH foolishly left on a pub table (and hasn’t been handed in).

My patience and sanity

A Gold earring ( about £240)
3 gold Bangles ( about £900)
Have been lost a couple of months now. I've looked everywhere but can't seem to find them. I'm hoping they will just turn up!

Teaspoons, I used to have loads there is only about 3 in the drawer now…….

I wonder if somehow I have your teaspoons because we seem to have about 67 and there is no way I ever bought, inherited or nicked so many.

Champagneforeveryone · 15/12/2023 01:46

The locking wheel nut for DS's car (he was at uni at the time so completely absolved of blame)

Following a successful tyre change after a random flat, DH (who it must be said, has form for this type of twathattery) has misplaced the locking wheel nut.

After several hours searching and then subsequent googling (there are a surprising number of different locking wheel nut options I was surprised to discover) we've had to pay a very nice man at the garage to grind all the locking nuts off and replace them with ordinary nuts. The nut will undoubtably appear at some point in the fridge or somewhere 😩

My patience with people who like to project their negative feelings onto me or manipulate and control me

mathanxiety · 15/12/2023 04:43

The two mousetraps I was going to set yesterday were lost until ten minutes after I got home from the shop with a new packet of traps. I swear they were mocking me.

DilemmaDelilah · 15/12/2023 07:55

Thank you all for making me feel really good right now! The only things I have lost are my youth and my health. Oh, and my socks but I know they're not really lost.... they are just at the back of the high shelf in the airing cupboard where I can neither see nor reach them.... DH is tall enough to do both but after all of 30 seconds of man-searching swears blind they're not there..... He will be looking again this morning! (He is the one who put them there by the way)

Vinorosso74 · 15/12/2023 08:33

One of my Uniqlo heatech tops. I unpacked it when we got back from a weekend away but haven't seen it since.

Teaspoons are evil. There's only me here yet every time I come to do the washing up there are six or seven in the bowl. Who's using them all? 😕

Christmascaked · 10/12/2023 16:40

Roughly ten thousand teeny tiny socks.

All the rechargeable batteries except one lone stray which was inexplicably in the charger thing all by itself.

Are you my DH? If so I can tell you that the socks are lost forever and the batteries are in all the light up Xmas decals scattering every surface and wall of our house as I couldn't find any disposable batteries and DD was adamant I turn on all the lights

Fridayfederica · 15/12/2023 08:46

I’m on holiday and have misplaced (hopefully in the apartment) the comb I have used everyday for the last 36 years. It’s cheap plastic with zero value but I love it and I’m bereft!

grass67 · 15/12/2023 08:54

@Champagneforeveryone That happened to me, you can buy new a new locking wheel nut from the internet, if you have the code (in log book) I know it won't help you, but might help someone else.

I don't see the point of them, everyone leaves the in the car anyway.

diyprojectnumber538 · 15/12/2023 12:18

The ironing board from that thread years ago....

PuttingDownRoots · 15/12/2023 12:27

With locking wheel nuts... they are pointless if not in the car anyway!

I know exactly where in the car it is... butvalways have to rack my brains when the MOT garage calls to ask me.

Madameprof · 15/12/2023 12:29

My son's house and bike key, it's definitely in the house but where??

megletthesecond · 15/12/2023 12:36

Christmas sweater and Xmas napkins. Not seen them since September. Sigh.

SuspiciousSue · 15/12/2023 12:38

My AirPods 😔 They’ve been MIA since I got back from America about 2 months ago. I’m pretty sure I saw them once when I got home but not since then. Might have to buy some more.

WaitingForSunnyDays · 15/12/2023 12:51

@DimplesToadfoot I am bizarrely fascinated by the fact that your nutcrackers were in your knicker drawer!

I have currently lost any chance of seeing the bed in the guest bedroom/dumping ground ever again. Also, a present which arrived last week. The two may be related.
