Interested to know about everything be it luxury or mundane
I was late to the game but now use my air fryer daily. I also love my earbuds.

@BiscuitTins I was so skeptical but just could not shift the postmenopausal weight gain and my snacking was getting ridiculous. It has been amazing - not necessarily quick, but so easy and stress free. Just wish there was a "concentration pod"! :)

Mhorsburgh9351 · 11/12/2023 22:40

Small air fryer, it’s brilliant and teddy bear bedding, total game changer, they are so cosy and comfy. I used to laugh at them and wonder why anyone would like them but they really are great in the winter!!!

A mini dishwasher which doesn't need to be plumbed in (tiny kitchen here!)

Where did you buy it from please?

Jillybloop393 · 11/12/2023 22:42

Heated throw ... bliss!
Electric blanket ... bliss!
Not sure if this next thing counts as it's not a 'item' I purchased exactly, but it's 'life changing' for me, and cost me money, so in a way I did buy it .... I had my eyebrows microbladed! Oh heck, yes, it stung like an absolute beeeitch, but oh my days, I'm blonde and when I wake up in the mornings with no make up on, I look like an egg, or an alien baby - featureless!! No more though .... I have eyebrows! Yayyyy! Sooo pleased I had them done!

@fishCellar @Cynderella oooh thank you 😊

Same, we’ve “Alexa-d it”- Alexa turn on the bed!

Tabitha005 · 11/12/2023 22:45

A natural boar bristle hairbrush. Absolute game changer for my frizzy, easily-tangled, dry and, since I entered menopause, thinning hair. Wish I'd 'discovered' it years ago.

@wherestheweightlosspill its not just you with the airfryer. I have a fancy arse dual thingy Ninja. It’s OK, can be handy, like a slow cooker is handy. But friends rave how it’s changed their life and obviously it’s not just them, so many folk on Mumsnet, so I too am assuming it’s me and I must be doing something wrong.

I can't see any use for one in my life at all. I accept that some people like them but unless fir some reason I had no kitchen there really is no place for one for me. And you need to save a LOT of electricity to make it worth it.

Dita73 · 11/12/2023 22:57

A king size bed

I'd second a lot of the items on here:

  • drawers instead of cupboards in kitchen
  • Masha for mashed potatoes
  • Breadmaker (Pansonic)
  • Oodie - I don't like synthetics, but I can sit on sofa in it and not miss the heating unless it's really cold
  • Merino and cashmere layers plus thermal socks
  • Ninja air fryer - I batch cook using my gas oven at the weekend, but the Ninja is great at heating up a lasagne or such like out of the freezer. Great chips too.
  • Quooker cube - horrendously expensive, but we use it for boiling water and chilled fizzy water all day every day

For those praising coverless duvets, do you have cotton ones? I wouldn't want to sleep under polyester after cotton. And are they practical if you don't tumble dry? I can wash and dry a king sized cotton cover over the airer in the winter on one day. Would I be able to do that with a coverless one? Do you wash them every week/couple of weeks?

My coverless duvet is cotton, yes.

But I don't want it on top of me without a sheet anyway, because I tend to hold the corner of the duvet or tuck it under my arm and that bit gets grubby, so I'd need a sheet. But, in fact, I use it over my normal duvet so it's more like an old fashioned eiderdown.

I wouldn't have thought it would dry in a day without a tumble dryer, unless you have a very warm and yet well-aired house. I give mine a thirty minute tumble on the duvet setting which is quite cool and then air it, it's king size and winter weight and it does dry in a day like that.

I do fancy a 3.5 together for summer with just a sheet though, that would be easier to wash and dry.

Speaking of brushes - got this Wet Brush recently and it has been a revelation - we now have several all round the house, and they have made brushing DD's hair go from nightmare to dream. Worth its weight in gold

Spider catcher with long reach.
I can now pick up a spider and put it outside. No stress.

Was invaluable for all the huge spiders that kept turning up this autumn.

I need this. Can you tell me where you got yours please?

Thisismynewname23 · 11/12/2023 23:14

My daughter went through a stage of pulling her eyelashes out when she was stressed I bought revitalash and they are back long and thick as they were before her bad spell x

Sgtmajormummy · 11/12/2023 23:14

This dog raincoat from a “Mumsnet Recommends” page.
The fleece is lightweight, there’s not much to pull over a protesting DDog’s head, I really like the reflective piping and the straps leave plenty of room for his barrel chest.
I can’t see me needing anything else for the next 10 years, so it was £25 well spent.

How did you choose a salon? I am desperate to book in the microblading

An air fryer saved a fortune by hardly using my oven, and some delicious meals ..big thumbs up!

Cynderella · 11/12/2023 23:30

I don't know that I would want to make the bed properly every day get used to a top sheet. That said, if I did, I wouldn't wash the duvet very often in the winter. I get that is saves the hassle of changing duvet covers, but the top sheet would do that. Maybe ...

pastypirate · 11/12/2023 23:37

IKEA milk frother can't remember price but it's under £2. Makes an ice coffee in moments. Paired with a video on tiktok about how to make iced coffee!

A bullet journal.

Urban decay brow blade if you need eyebrow make up like me.

Bissel spot carpet cleaner.

Clothes steamer - mine is swan brand £23!! Amazing!

Got2B Glued hairspray a revelation for me!! Can't believe the effect.

My Roka backpack I bought for work after recommendations on here. My back thanks me and I get compliments all the time. It's a work bag for my laptop that doesn't look like I'm prepped for a trek across Dartmoor.

Lastly they might have been 2022 but my country boots - wish I'd bought them 9 years ago when I got my dog, all the money I wasted on wellies over the years. They are all you need for dog walking. Mine are the horse wear Irish brand but many brands are available - they are similar in that they are fully waterproof and warm and comfy. Dp is still marvelling and thinks they are v stylish and can go from puddle to pub seamlessly. I will never buy a pair of wellies again!!!

Dyson v11 animal. No more lugging a heavy hoover round plugging and unplugging

Aren’t they THE BEST? good purchase!

Electric blanket; my husband died earlier in the year. It was so cold getting into a cold bed with an empty space. My son bought me an electric blanket and I switch it on before bed on cold nights and it helps when I get into bed.

SgtBilko · 11/12/2023 23:58

Stove top pressure cooker. I use it nearly every day and it sits on the top of the cooker.
Sage kettle with different temperature settings. Expensive but worth it.
Tapo smart bulb so I have lights coming on at dusk. great for coming home to but also a burglar deterrent.
Velco rug sticker things which hold down the corners of rugs. Stopped me tripping over the damn things.
Fly trap in the garden.
