Interested to know about everything be it luxury or mundane
I was late to the game but now use my air fryer daily. I also love my earbuds.

Electric blanket; my husband died earlier in the year. It was so cold getting into a cold bed with an empty space. My son bought me an electric blanket and I switch it on before bed on cold nights and it helps when I get into bed.

I'm so sorry for your loss xxx that must be really hard

Lolalady · 12/12/2023 00:03

My Vax carpet spot cleaner. Amazing job of cleaning up after the dogs! Ear buds and I’m thinking seriously if investing in a heated clothes dryer. Also eyelash serum - coupled with a good mascara eyelash extensions no longer needed.

Ladybird69 · 12/12/2023 00:05

Thanks @BarelyCoping123 ill check them out

I would also say air fryer and earbuds! Love both and would immediately replace if they broke.

In addition to that, I bought some plastic pump dispenser bottles. They don't rust, I can clean them in the dishwasher every so often and I just buy handsoap refillable pouches in bulk. I also have one for filling with almond oil to use as a body moisturiser after my shower.

Shiatsu foot massager. I use it every day for 15 minutes.

And a microfibre hooded towel for me. I just chuck it on after my shower and it's easier than faffing around wrapping a towel round me or with a dressing gown cord. I love it!

@ThreeRingCircus Could you recommend the type of pump soap dispensers you found that are dishwasher-safe? I’m fed up of rust or whatever the nasty stuff is that appears near the top of the pump in the Baylis & Harding handwash bottles in the past couple of years. Thanks so much!!

YungGrandma · 12/12/2023 01:28

Oooh where do you get them from?

YungGrandma · 12/12/2023 01:40

What eyelash serum do you use? It’s a minefield of serums out there lol

YungGrandma · 12/12/2023 01:43

I really need to know what this mop is all about can you link me up please?

Alondra · 12/12/2023 01:43

I've never been able to make a good dough by hand and, no idea why, was resisting to buy a stand mixer. Finally got one a few months ago and I still keep calling myself an idiot for not buying one before. They are wonderful things!

GrandmaSusie · 12/12/2023 02:18

Hello,
What is eyelash serum? It sounds like it works great!

How did you choose a salon? I am desperate to book in the microblading

Hi pastypirate,
Someone I knew had theirs done first, and I was so impressed with how theirs looked, I went ahead and booked with the same person. I didn't want two 'black slugs' that took over my face, and I was thrilled from the very start how good mine looked. The only thing was it really did hurt. The lady didn't use numbing cream, she said that it changes how the microblading effects the skin, and in her opinion the best results are done straight onto the skin. I've yet to meet anyone that had theirs done without any of the cream, though! That said, I do love how they look, and when they start to fade, in two or three years time, I'll probably go back to the same place.

Costco Air fryer £50 does the same as the ninja it replaced.

dupe Stanley cup £11 eBay - coffee stays hot for hours

aldi skin care dupes £3-8.50 it means getting up early when they arrive in store but amazing stuff!!

Counter clicker when grocery shopping £1 one click, It’s made me really think about what I’m buying as them number click up!

pink stuff miracle spray for dirt and grime
elbow grease yellow spray for grease
Both work wonders!!!

LED light mask £50 10 mins 4-5 times a week on red light therapy means Botox is only needed 1 time a year. I’ve had comments since using it ‘your looking so well’ ‘your skin looks so fresh’

Matrix hair protector £10 quick spray after washing and blow dry is so much smoother plus hair condition has improved dramatically!

budget planner £3 I make a conscious effort to update it every 2 weeks so I know what is being spent and where.

Sleep headband with ear phones.

Just love it, for books and ASMR.

Xanadu58 · 12/12/2023 05:31

Signia hearing aids which are a gamechanger.
Electric bike.
Air fryer

Did you wear aids before, or are these your first. I'm a long time aid wearer wondering if there is anything better out there.

Newestname002 · 12/12/2023 06:08
  • Ankle length "Sherpa" lined faux oodi which I wear over warm layers. Brilliant when my boiler broke last winter and I wear it all the time now to keep heating costs down.
  • very thick fleecy boots which come to mid-calf, bought oversized so I can wear thick fleecy HeatHolders (2.3 tog) socks. I added orthotics for more structure in the feet. 🌹

Sorry for your loss, difficult times made slightly more bareable with sleep. 8 years ago since my long term partner passed. If someone is bereaved and now sleeps alone, I'd recommend heated blankets and throws as a very thoughtful gift.

This might be the most middle class thread I have ever read on Mumsnet. It’s 90% air fryers, robovacs and soup/rice makers! 😂

Highly civilised and useful, brilliant thread, thanks OP.
I'm middle class on a working class wage so it suits me.

Hi, I have been looking at the vax spot cleaner, is it useful to freshen up stairs or is it only for spot cleaning?

DixiePeach · 12/12/2023 07:18

Just thought of another one. My varifocal contact lenses. I”d had read terrible reviews so put off trying them however they’re brilliant and I can read the back of bottles and packets again when shopping.

Deathraystare · 12/12/2023 07:38

@TomeTome

I think you can also boil eggs in it! I saw a Korean mum doing just that. Obvs only if you have a number of eggs to boil rather than just one!

dontforgetme · 12/12/2023 07:45

Dehumidifier.

Ellejay67 · 12/12/2023 07:52

Sally Hansen 7 in 1 nail treatment lol

Itham · 12/12/2023 08:01

Another vote for Elbow Grease spray, it's a brilliant pre wash stain remover. If you have a jacket with that unshiftable hair product and make up mark inside the neckband, it works when nothing else does.

TomeTome · 12/12/2023 08:06

@Deathraystare mine has a steamer basket so you can steam food, but we mostly use it for rice. You can also make porridge, quinoa etc. Rice cookers are as common as toasters and kettles are here in the far east.

Trainingfairy · 12/12/2023 08:18

@MeinKraft can you share more info about the specific mop you bought please?
