Interested to know about everything be it luxury or mundane
I was late to the game but now use my air fryer daily. I also love my earbuds.

I would - perfect mash. I don't know what else you can use it for, but we've had ours for years, and use it every week. I don't normally buy gadgets that only do one thing, but it makes perfect mash.

Gingernan · 11/12/2023 21:42

A hard rubbery bristled broom that gets a lot of the cat hair off the stair carpet

LatteLady · 11/12/2023 21:49

OP, I am racking up the costs here... where should I send the invoice? Great thread, BTW!

Cynderella · 11/12/2023 21:50

I'd second a lot of the items on here:

  • drawers instead of cupboards in kitchen
  • Masha for mashed potatoes
  • Breadmaker (Pansonic)
  • Oodie - I don't like synthetics, but I can sit on sofa in it and not miss the heating unless it's really cold
  • Merino and cashmere layers plus thermal socks
  • Ninja air fryer - I batch cook using my gas oven at the weekend, but the Ninja is great at heating up a lasagne or such like out of the freezer. Great chips too.
  • Quooker cube - horrendously expensive, but we use it for boiling water and chilled fizzy water all day every day

For those praising coverless duvets, do you have cotton ones? I wouldn't want to sleep under polyester after cotton. And are they practical if you don't tumble dry? I can wash and dry a king sized cotton cover over the airer in the winter on one day. Would I be able to do that with a coverless one? Do you wash them every week/couple of weeks?

An always pan 2.0 from Our Place. I was sceptical as this pan is all over instagram but it’s the best non stick pan I’ve ever had, super lightweight and comes with a steamer and spatula. It looks so pretty too

Lakeland milk sachets. I go abroad and having these plus tea bags means I can have nice tea. The local stuff tastes different - I think it is long life. These made me so happy.

This milk tastes AMAZING! I’ve had to buy off Amazon. I wish they made them available in shops.

MiloManheimIsMyPatronus · 11/12/2023 21:53

I have a top three.

Oodie - sooo much warmer without having to put the heating on.

Window vac - really bad condensation, especially in the bathroom.

Bamboo socks - super comfy and seem to make my feet less sweaty.

I love threads like this! I’m away to investigate a dehumidifier and air fryer (which I’d always written off as a fad.)

Blueink · 11/12/2023 21:55

Another for the heated throw

@Peacelily001 which mattress topper- cheap is attractive to me due the size of my shopping list from this thread. A link would be appreciated x

It was this one, though I didn’t pay as much as this as it was on a better offer.
It’s well worth it though!

Last Christmas I got an air fryer and I absolutely love it! Use my oven so little now. If it broke tomorrow I’d be buying a new one as soon as I could afford it. I also bought myself a poncho (hooded blanket) from primark and I honestly absolutely adore it. I talk about it so much my mates take the mick out of me. I just love it so much. It keeps me so warm and cozy.

notjaneausten · 11/12/2023 22:05

An Aeropress coffee maker, about £30 from Argos, no expensive machines or messy grounds to block the sink. Uses bags of ground coffee, ready in couple of minutes, and the plug of coffee grounds goes straight in the bin.
Also, my Tower air fryer/mini oven. Magic!

Mrsfussypants1 · 11/12/2023 22:06

Ooh I can't decide, I have 3 favourites but I'll put them in order of which I prefer.
Joint first:
1:Maeco arete one dehumidifier
1: very tall pachira hydroculture money tree from hortology (it's stunning and the easiest care plant ever)
2: ninja

Mrsfussypants1 · 11/12/2023 22:10

Sorry could someone enlighten me on smasha for mashed potatoes. I've looked but can't find it and it has the possibility to be a 2024 game changer for me.

GirlOfTudor · 11/12/2023 22:14

A bolster pillow for our bed. So much comfort!

Curlsmith weightless air dry cream
Is the hair product I have been looking for for most of my life

Could you please tell me how this has been great? I’m going to spend a blasted fortune after this thread! I’m particularly keen on getting some elasticity back in my skin, I’d rather not look at surgical/threading etc. Thanks!

Ha yes I did answer another poster up thread with the same question - I have thicker and longer hair than I have had for years, pretty much flawless skin, and my joints and knees feel like they did in my 20s (I'm in my 40s now) :)

BiscuitTins · 11/12/2023 22:27

@sc0nes4t
I have to agree on Slimpod.
I’ve been doing it since May and it’s totally changed my attitude to food, exercise and loads of other things. I’m so much more positive.
AND I’m lighter too😃

Trixiefirecracker · 11/12/2023 22:31

This might be the most middle class thread I have ever read on Mumsnet. It’s 90% air fryers, robovacs and soup/rice makers! 😂

Those things are not that expensive though, and they save a lot of electricity. It doesn't mean someone's middle class, just because they have an air fryer!

Blessedbethefruitz · 11/12/2023 22:33

Eufy vacuum is my purchase of the decade! He fills up completely every cycle (runs 3x a day 5 days a week, over my 3 bed flat) and my home is now not disgusting for the first time ever! We're a family of 4, no pets, including bald dh almost bald dd (1yo), but I have a lot of hair. No idea how it's pulling up so much. 1yo is frightened of him (and normal hoovers) but ds4 can at least weekly be put in charge of overseeing his work/cheering him on, if I need to meet a deadline 😅 dh was initially dismissive as he also hates the dishwasher, but now (3 weeks after buying) says he'll fight me in court for him if we ever break up.

I switched to coverless duvets too. Wash them all every other week, proven great for my allergies and time saving (5 foot 2 and giant duvet covers don't really work). I wfh full time and just do them all in one day, blast the heating to dry them. I'm a convert. Saves me so much time.

Oh and I got a neck light thing for crafting in bed, which is used daily. Co sleeping with both kids still, but at least now I can cross stitch while watching greys anatomy, in between breastfeeding 😬

Not tried an air frier although dh is curious...

sc0nes4t · 11/12/2023 22:34

@Yogachick @Beenalongwinter Slimpod: It's a 12 week programme with no diet or calorie counting etc. The pods are short daily podcasts that work on your subconscious to change your relationship with food. It's witchcraft! From day one my eating habits have improved. There's a 10 day free trial then it's £99 for the whole programme and it's yours to keep. If you Google Slimpod you should be able to find out more about the trial period etc.

Blessedbethefruitz · 11/12/2023 22:34

@Trixiefirecracker If I were middle class, I could afford a cleaner rather than live in filth 😅
