Interested to know about everything be it luxury or mundane
I was late to the game but now use my air fryer daily. I also love my earbuds.

Electric zapper thingy for those pesky fruit flies in summer. I love it. Makes the most satisfying ‘buzzzap’ when it gets one.

Recent accidental purchase - merino wool vest. I was always a heatgen and heattech fan and bought a merino wool top from Cos, thinking I could wear a cami under it and look all 30-no-kids, but oh my god it is amazing for heat. Admittedly it was about £40 but it is worth every penny. I cannot get over the warmth. Leaves Heatech in the shade. Genuinely amazing as a vest.

Got rid of my memory foam mattress for a pocket sprung mattress.

Also, furry sheet from Dunelm. Lovely and cosey.

@Echobelly which wireless headband do you have?

Musicozy - they're sold under various names I think but they're all the same thing.

Airfryer 100%

TicTac80 · 11/12/2023 19:37

This year: a really slim, metal, over the door shelving thing that holds all my spice and herb jars, condiments etc. It's on the inside of the door to my pantry (more like a cupboard under the stairs, but I use it like a pantry as it's very cold). Really great if you don't have much space.

2022: Ninja Air fryers: the dual drawer one and the 15-in-1. I rarely use my oven these days

2021: -Thermomix TM6. My family clubbed together and got the the Friend as a birthday gift. I LOVE my TM6 and use it everyday. Massive time saver, and we get to eat lovely food everyday.
-Eufy 30C robot vacuum. Brilliant bit of kit. It's programmed to come on every morning, so we wake up to a clean house. I'd love one for upstairs too (but it's bloody cluttered!!)

HarriR · 11/12/2023 19:38

Roomba and mop equivalent. Love them.

Ancient and Brave collagen powder - it's changed my life!!

Could you please tell me how this has been great? I’m going to spend a blasted fortune after this thread! I’m particularly keen on getting some elasticity back in my skin, I’d rather not look at surgical/threading etc. Thanks!

newtoallthisshizzle · 11/12/2023 19:41

Loving this thread!! I’ve made my list already. Can anyone please please please collate all the answers and links into one post?? I would but I struggle to reply more often than not so would end up making a right pigs ear of it…..

I would have to say my Widex hearing aids. They make hearing feel joyful rather than harsh, & music sounds beautiful. Worth every penny.

I agree with you wholeheartedly about Widex HAs (although I didn't buy mine this year). People who ask why buy privately when they're free on the NHS don't realise there's a world of difference in the brands. The Phonak aids I was given by the NHS sounded tinny and remote and made me quite depressed, hence the decision to go private.

(If anyone reading this is thinking about buying hearing aids for themselves or a relative, I can highly recommend https://www.hearingaid.org.uk/. No connection, just a very impressed customer.)

Vispring mattress (actually, two mattresses which measure the same as a kingsize bed - much less disturbance from OH turning over and a lot lighter to turn).

Slimpod. Life changing. Chocolate no longer holds any interest and I have a much healthier, stress-free relationship with food.

Tell me about slim plod please !

I bought a Weimaraner puppy in early June. She is nearly 8-months-old now and being big, babyish, yet huge, is still a real handful, but I adore her and dread the day when she gets old and I lose her.

Wonanizer Shower Head
Does exactly what it says on the tin 😉

LED cover stickers. We've got a TV in our bedroom and a shark mini hoover and the little blue LED lights used to just bug me getting to sleep. No longer! Black stickers now cover them entirely but sensors still operate as normal. Game changer.

Drying bags for the dogs. They get really muddy and wet, shove them in their bags before they even go back in the house and it gets them dry and keeps them warm (waterproof Tuffie next to the radiator) plus saves me having to endlessly mop the floor.

Interesting 🤔 Could you post a link?

mamaduckbone · 11/12/2023 20:07

Reading glasses 🤓

Undercounter fridge/freezer (kitchen is small). Separate freezer compartment bigger and colder than ice box.
Air fryer (or course). Basic 4 litre Innoteck, less than £40, basket goes in the dishwasher. Plus silicone liner baskets, also dishwasher proof

AppleCrispMacchiato · 11/12/2023 20:15

A suitcase that isn't hand luggage-sized.

I spent decades trying to shove weeks' worth of packing into hand luggage, then trying to shove a suitcase into overhead compartments.

Now I have a proper big suitcase with loads of space to bring things back, and I'm happy to pay the extra £30 or whatever to check it.

ohwhatadustyanswer · 11/12/2023 20:17

Electric cargo bike - I love it beyond measure and talk about how much I love it until everyone is sick of me. Hugely cut down my car usage, kids love riding on the back, and I feel much fitter.

Peacelily001 · 11/12/2023 20:20

A mattress topper. Not expensive, but like sleeping on a cloud. I bloody love it.

Also a free app through the library where I can download free audiobooks. Game changer - I listen in the car, when cooking and when doing housework.

Rushie123 · 11/12/2023 20:20

I have an eufy

Presumably the robot vacuum cleaner is unable to do under the beds, sofas and coffee tables,I have 2 long hair dogs, so you have to do this daily. The dogs would like one, they're border collies, they would round it up!

No. It’s goes under the sofa, beds etc as it’s not very high. I have an eufy. Not the most expensive but very pleased with it. I still use my shark every now and again but highly recommend.

TheAirbender · 11/12/2023 20:32

No, they are brilliant for underneath sofas etc!
