Grace and Frankie, just because it was the end of the series. I cried buckets.

Toy Story 3 when Andy hands all the toys over to the little girl because he's leaving home. I dont do well with goodbyes.

I don’t know anyone who didn’t cry at the end of the Firefly Lane series!

Oxborn · 09/12/2023 18:08

I know my first name is Steven Elelphant Man

Atonement - when you realise they didn't get their happy ending. I absolutely sobbed reading the book and then when I saw the film despite knowing it was happening.

Saving Private Eyan when you realise the old man at the beginning is Ryan and the Captain died saving him (I start blubbing from about the bit when he talls about his wife gardening).

Band of Brothers - the baseball game.

Black Hawk Down - the monologue to the soldier's wife as the credits role.

The Americans series finale is a fantastic & devastatingly deep emotional ride. Wanted to watch it again but couldn't bring myself to for months.

Elderflower14 · 09/12/2023 18:18

Another vote for Hachi.
The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas.... The realisation that they had the wrong boy!!
The Bucket List.. The funeral and the burying of the ashes!!

Jifmicroliquid · 09/12/2023 18:18

I watched The Bridge to Teribithia the other day. God my eyes leaked!

clpsmum · 09/12/2023 18:20

Homeward Bound, Shadows return 😭

This will never not break me

Poignant today, Love Story.

Hermittrismegistus · 09/12/2023 18:37

Wit with Emma Nichols. I cried and cried and cried.

Longlive · 09/12/2023 18:37

Homeward Bound, Shadows return 😭

Oh lordy, that one gets me every time.

MaidOfSteel · 09/12/2023 18:42

The Bridges of Madison County, where Meryl Streep can't bring herself to leave her family for Clint Eastwood. Almost unbearable.

Didydani · 09/12/2023 18:46

Meet Joe Black. I've sobbed my heart out several times to this film, especially the ending when Susan realises she saying goodbye to her father. The acting from Anthony Hopkins and Brad Pitt is superb too. In fact all the the actors play their characters really well. Worth a watch if you haven't see it already. Just have some tissues at the ready lol

EdgarsTale · 09/12/2023 18:46

Six Feet Under has a very moving final episode.

scoobysnaxx · 09/12/2023 18:47

Ditto Man on Fire.

Cannot even watch The Green Mile 😢

A Star is Born - wow, stunning end, extremely poignant and sad, her face as she finishes singing. Pure grief and emptiness 😢

I absolutely love that film. Great acting and lovely music in it too. I love the scene where Jeffrey Tambor's character, Quince, is explaining to Joe what true love is - "When someone knows the worst thing there is to know about you, and it's OK".

Since the sudden and tragic death of my own dad, the ending gets me all the more. It's beautiful. That, and the bit immediately after the stampede in The Lion King.

Another vote for The Green Mile too.

Didydani · 09/12/2023 18:56

REP22 yes, I adore that scence with quince and Joe too. Joe is so innocent throughout until he meets Susan and realises what love is. There's so many emotional and powerful scenes. One of my all time favourites I think! I'm so sorry, I can understand why you relate to it even more then.

lto2019 · 09/12/2023 18:57

This is US - pretty much every episode. Schitt's Creek - David and Patrick's proposal / David and Patrick's wedding.

I just thought of this. The last five minutes really affected me but now I'm not sure if we were supposed to find it funny or not. I certainly didn't.

And @swimsong yes, the last epi of the Americans when they realise she's got off the train and the FBI guy going to tell their son 😭

Generalquery · 09/12/2023 19:06

Absolutely. I felt bereft but also at peace that it was such a perfect ending. I also felt a whole range of other complicated emotions.

Sorry that was in response to the Good Place ending being mentioned

Game of Thrones - Hodor 😢
