I didn’t know where to post this, it’s extraordinarily moving. What wonderful sisters. What a wonderful little girl.

In February the head teacher Emma Pattison and her seven-year-old daughter, Lettie, were killed by her husband. The next day her sister, Deborah Kirk, seeking solace, began to write. Here she shares some of her words

These are incredibly moving. He’s sister also seems like an incredible woman. What a terrible waste.

Gosh, that is incredibly moving.

Thanks for posting

Thanks for sharing OP, such beautiful writing & so moving. I can’t imagine how devastating this must be for the family- to know that Emma was planning to leave. It shows how dangerous it can be for women to leave. What a tragic loss of lives.

Thank you for sharing this.
Having been through something similar (albeit not as publicly) I found so much of what she wrote resonated with me.
She's very brave to publish these but I'm glad she did.

I'm sitting in a coffee shop and I've had to stop reading it because it's so beautiful and moving and so full of pain and love that I fear I might cry. I'll finish the rest when I get home. I think it's one of the most heartbreaking descriptions of grief and love I've ever read.

May09Bump · 09/12/2023 15:59

A very brave family. The way she described the impact on so many people, when planting the daffodils - just very, very sad. I hope they find some level of peace.

DrivingonIce · 09/12/2023 16:08

Oh god, that's heartbreaking.

RabbitsRock · 09/12/2023 16:11

Wow - absolutely soul shattering. I am the same as a pp & just had to stop reading.

Abra1t · 09/12/2023 16:14

Poor, poor sister who has to deal with her own grief and support her parents in theirs, and in their old age, when she should have had her sister and niece at her side.

I had to stop reading, too.

MissHavershamReturns · 09/12/2023 16:22

So very sad

Oh god, that's heartbreaking.

Agree, that had me blubbing. So beautifully written.

EdithStourton · 09/12/2023 16:35

Goodness, that's powerful. Wonderful writing that had me blubbing.

Just heartbreaking that Emma and Lettie didn't get away, and that so many people lost so much with their deaths.

TheCatterall · 09/12/2023 16:48

What a strong wonderful woman. Absolutely crying my eyes out now. Squishes to all experiencing DV or standing in the shadows waiting to catch and support a friend or family member.

CatChant · 09/12/2023 16:57

Heartbreaking and moving. They were so loved.

All that bright promise, wiped out in one selfish, monstrous act.

Montasaurus · 09/12/2023 17:00

Sobbing.

A magnificent sister bond that can never be broken.

Lifesapurpledream · 09/12/2023 17:15

So moving and beautifully written.

TheFireflies · 09/12/2023 17:22

I have cried and cried reading those beautiful words. Just an unimaginable horror that this family have suffered.

Raspberrymoon49 · 09/12/2023 17:28

So poignant and beautifully written, as with suicide the guilt (unwarranted) of those left behind must be crippling, thinking they could have removed Emma and her little girl before this unthinkable end to their lives, but how could they physically pick them up and get them out of there if it wasn’t the right moment for Emma.So true that women are most at risk when they’re on the verge of leaving, senseless and heartbreaking end to their lives and I can’t begin to imagine the family’s pain.

WavyLines11 · 09/12/2023 18:12

Utterly heartbreaking, what beautiful words Flowers

WingingItSince1973 · 09/12/2023 18:43

Just wow ❤️😢

RaininSummer · 09/12/2023 19:00

What an amazing outpouring of love and feeling. What a tribute. What a loss.

FlamMabel · 09/12/2023 19:22

Stunning. Thanks for sharing.

SuitYouSir · 09/12/2023 19:28

Gut wrenching. But how beautiful at the same time.

FuckHonestlyKnows · 09/12/2023 19:29

I don't really have the words.
