What very useful device would you like to invent that hasn't already been invented?

For me it would be the Teck Patented Table De-wobbling Wonder Ray Gun. To eradicate at the squeeze of a trigger those annoying moments in pubs, cafes and restaurants worldwide where the very table you've chosen, or had booked for you, just can't keep still. Think of all the napkins, drip mats and menus it would save!

Self cleaning house. If too much how about a self bed linen changer? Automatic bathroom scrubber/steriliser? Still too much? An automatic leaf collector and bagger.

And I've always liked those machines on Star Trek where you can say: 'steak and chips with salad' and it appears (though it's always 'earl grey, hot' which is hardly taxing to make).

A tiger like Hobbes that comes to life when it is just the pair of you alone.

Something to stop your hair growing and the lawn growing.

A fitted sheet automatic folder

A machine that peels potatoes ! Such a chore.

An automatic back scratcher would be amazing .

Actually I'd like a device that plans your day's meals for you AND scans food you look at and gives you calorie count, then amends your remaining eating plan so eg you have some chocolate cake and it downgrades your dinner from pasta to soup

This exists. They have bulk ones, for feeding hundreds of people. And then the one where you put each potato on one by one.

I just buy the pre peeled potatoes. I'm paying an extra £1 compared to normal potatoes, but I'm ok with that.

PlayDoh where the colours mix together beautifully while playing, but when finished all the colours can be separated back out, and squished neatly back into their individual little colour pots.

Instead of being mashed into a sort of beige lump after one decent play.

I've never owned a dog, as too many slips in their shit as a child has given me an absolute horror of the stuff.

I'd like a key fob that I press to lock the front door - like I can with the car. It's such a faff when it's dark/raining/I'm carrying shopping bags to use a key. A quick 'blip' would be so much easier.

You could always make like the Victorians and use a chamber pot. 😂 OK you’d still have to ‘get up’ but you wouldn’t have to cross the room.

I'd really like someone to invent zips which can't trap fabric or a thread and jam.

Coffee flavoured toothpaste. That way brushing teeth would not ruin the morning coffee taste.

Not just the quiet carriage. It could be available for all public transport, cafes & restaurants & would mean all electronic devices only had sound via headphones. And the sound wouldn’t go any further than the user’s ears.
