What (materialistic things) are you getting / hoping for this Christmas for yourself?

Just that really, what is on your list to Santa this year just for you?

For me its a good record player & some vinyl (I've got quite a few from way back but a few new ones would be nice).
Skincare
Perfume - something lux
Books
A trip to a festive ballet or opera and a meal out
Some Art Supplies
Lots of Chocolate!

Wow that’s an expensive list.

thedividedelf · 07/12/2023 16:05

@Cosywintertime I didn't say I was getting all of it!

DH and I usually get something for the house that we would both like.

I don’t expect anything else, but I’d like a recent photo of my youngest grandson.

OH and i have already bought our joint Christmas present we treated ourselves to nice dining chairs from the kids anything they get me is lovely but they dont have to as at our age we have everything we could want or need

PandaG · 07/12/2023 16:24

I have expressly asked for a new set of measuring spoons - as my tablespoon measure has gone missing, and a new measuring jug - old one is 30 years old and the measurements are really faded and I struggle to see them. These are sticking fillers. Otherwise DH and I have booked 3 West End shows and hotel for a long weekend in London in April.

indecisivewoman81 · 07/12/2023 16:25

I've seen a handbag from Brakeburn I would like and am really hoping for a few books and a black cashmere jumper (if I'm lucky!)

thedividedelf · 07/12/2023 16:25

@PandaG Your trips sound lovely, nice to have things to look forward to!

World peace.

Only joking! I want perfume (all sorts, but especially Coco Mademoiselle and Penhaligons - anything from the trade routes collection). A new Kindle. And jewellery. Always jewellery - doesn't even have to be that expensive. And socks! I love getting socks.

Refurbishmentino · 07/12/2023 16:37

Slippers. Nice warm cosy slippers. Thats all I want!

thedividedelf · 07/12/2023 16:38

@OneMiniMincePieTooFar Socks get a bad press as a gift but I like getting socks for Christmas too!

I would be thrilled to find world peace in my stocking this Christmas but as we all know that is unlikely we can all just distract ourselves with a bit of consumerist escapism real or imagined!

I'd love Dior pure poison perfume and some bamboo socks 🥰

Ruthietuthie · 07/12/2023 16:40

I want a Tiffany bone cuff bracelet. I have been dropping hints.

Lemonademoney · 07/12/2023 16:41

Pyjamas! Love a nice new set for Christmas. Some sparkly earrings, doesn’t need to be anything fancy. Oh and I would like a really nice hot water bottle

Strokethefurrywall · 07/12/2023 16:41

Brahmin satchel bag in pecan
Yoga socks
Yoga gloves
Books
Dress

Basically it's all stuff I put in the Amazon cart and then have given it to DH to wrap and give to me on Xmas day.

We live on a tiny island and either have to go to Miami to shop properly, or order everything in. Surprised are pretty difficult!

Swallowdoubleandrunamile · 07/12/2023 16:42

I am getting a ticket for the immersive Monet show which I'm delighted about.
It will mean a day alone in London which is bliss for me.
Adult DS is organising a stocking for me, never had one before so very touched. I'm hoping it has some Booja Booja espresso chocolate in.

Blueberry40 · 07/12/2023 16:45

Pyjamas, Penhaligon’s discovery set, Saltworks discovery set, a clever fox planner, a new purse (current one is falling to bits) and a ring from Lines and Current are on my wish list 🎄

Billoddiesbeard · 07/12/2023 16:48

A Dyson airwrap complete (I've been dropping very unsubtle hints!)
A silicon long handled back scrubber
Jo Malone poppies and barley perfume

It's my birthday a couple of days after Christmas so I'm happy for the above to be joint gifts for both 😁

Smarshian · 07/12/2023 16:52

Passenger fleece
pyjamas
slippers
gloves
running headphones

thedividedelf · 07/12/2023 16:53

Lots of lovely things here, I hope everyone gets what they want! I quite fancy my own pair of yoga socks now!

I’ve asked for a heated foot warmer as my feet get really cold WFH. I have a heated throw already which is fabulous, I just need warm feet now!

MrsDilligaf · 07/12/2023 17:02

I love the idea of going all out luxe for a Christmas list and there's loads of stuff I think I'd like:
Completely revamped make-up bag with new brushes
Whole range of skincare
Bottles of my favourite perfumes
Three pairs of good quality pyjamas
New Black leather boots
A free pass for anything I fancy from Neom
A gorgeous candle
£200 to spend on books

I could go on and on and while DH wouldn't mind buying two or three of them, I always think of what else the money could buy.

And anyway, I quite like my cosy TU pyjamas, Aldi dupes, and charity shop books 📚 😄

MrsDilligaf · 07/12/2023 17:03

On second thought, I would like a log burner and a horse...

AgeGapBbe · 07/12/2023 17:06

Really lamely I can’t think of what to ‘ask for’. DP and my DParents and DSis keep asking me.

We’re ttc and failing, I’ve had to cut right down on sugar, non organic food and drink, alcohol, carbs, scented anything including candles, diffusers, toiletries, perfume… I’m very lucky and generally buy the things I want when I see them reduced and I’m really hot on discount codes and sales etc. I despise paying full price for anything!

The things I want, I can’t get as gifts and in the most first world way, I’m stuck!

Ihateboris · 07/12/2023 17:17

On my wishlist..

IN MY DREAMS
..Portrait of a lady perfume

..Christian louboutin boots
IN REALITY
..Clinique aromatics perfume
...Coach handbag
...River Island boots
