What (materialistic things) are you getting / hoping for this Christmas for yourself?

Just that really, what is on your list to Santa this year just for you?

For me its a good record player & some vinyl (I've got quite a few from way back but a few new ones would be nice).
Skincare
Perfume - something lux
Books
A trip to a festive ballet or opera and a meal out
Some Art Supplies
Lots of Chocolate!

Sort of materialistic I suppose, though nothing tangible - getting my seasonal colour analysis done. I've fallen prey to the recent popularity of colour analysis and feel like I can't buy any more clothes until I have my season and sub season confirmed!

I’m hoping to treat myself to a nice block of knives with any money I get. I currently own one pink Jamie Oliver knife that was from a set of three… purchased ten years ago when I was a student. The other two have seemingly disappeared into thin air over the years.

Some new running shoes. The ones I have are old and stinky - I can smell them from here and we're in different rooms.

MargaritaThyme · 07/12/2023 19:11

A new iPad. Mine’s ancient & it’s starting to struggle running some websites which seem to need a lot of memory etc. MN being one of them. I’ve had my money’s worth out of the old one, and it doesn’t owe me a penny.

Oh I love threads like these.

DH has recently bought me a big bottle of a hideously expensive perfume as a 'just because' gift, so I've not asked for anything for Christmas as that is treat enough. We're doing a wider family Secret Santa with a decent budget so I'm secretly hoping for a Lumie sunrise bedside light which would be wonderful.

While not wanting anything else does make me sound rather saintly, while ordering everyone's gifts, I may have accidentally added a Papier diary/planner for myself so I have that to look forward to writing in. And I may have accidentally hit 'buy with one-click' a few times on Audible during Black Friday and knowing they're just waiting for me to enjoy makes me incredibly happy.

I'd like some wool socks.

I got a set of ProCook Professional X50 knives last year. I’m delighted with them. They are excellent knives & sensibly priced. Highly recommended.

Maybe some books and chocolate.

fourelementary · 07/12/2023 19:53

A new Emma Bridgewater mug. A box set of books. A bottle of Amaretto. Bliss.

Absolutely 😁😁

DH definitely won't get me a horse!

Sparthan · 08/12/2023 07:35

DH won’t be thoughtful enough to buy me anything. Our money is in the same pot so if I wanted anything I could just buy it myself. I can understand getting gifts from others but what’s the point of a gift from DH when it’s basically your money anyway?

cuthbertthecat · 08/12/2023 07:37

I do a list for dh. This year I have
A bag from Fatface
A dress from Fatface
Kindle vouchers
Apple Music sub
Some slightly posher than normal shower gel from M&S
A lounge wear set

I don't even usually like Fatface but I have been searching for a particular type of bag everywhere and that's the only place I found what I was looking for. The dress was in one of those 'style with' photos at the bottom and I thought oh I like the colour.

That said I sent him the list a couple of months back when he asked and he only started looking this week so I strongly suspect I'll have missed the boat on the bag.

ALightOverThere · 08/12/2023 07:37

Second pair of oven gloves 😭

PermanentTemporary · 08/12/2023 07:46

Books
Bridgedale walking socks
West Yorkshire Spinners socks

Tbh I will get the best present because dp is moving into our new house at last. I was reluctant for a long time but once I decided, I started really longing for him to be here.

I would love a silver pendant but I'm so fussy about jewellery I think I would really rather buy it myself. I always lose it as well so it's less painful if it's not from someone else.

YorkieTheRabbit · 08/12/2023 08:42

Elemis ultimate pro collagen gift set.
Earrings, aquamarine quartz with moonstone and pearl. I’ve picked and ordered them Xmas Grin
A book
Casserole dish

Mydogisamentalist · 08/12/2023 10:27

@MargaritaThyme thank you for the recommendation! I’ve heard good things about those knives so I’ll have a look. Being able to chop an onion without the risk of hacking of my hand will be the greatest gift of all 😁
