Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just brewing my first cuppa of the day then I'll drink it in my kitchen spot. There was snow here last night & even my grotty back garden looks pretty. No-one else is up yet so it's nice and quiet for now.

We're meant to be heading into town for the girls' dad today & then either Starbucks or Costa - dd2's choice. I'm not entirely sure that's a good idea though so might suggest after school another day or next weekend instead.

If we don't go out, we'll get some more decorations up & I'll carry on with my last set of peg people for the year & the girls will likely do their homework and mooch about the house.

Gammon for tea, with pineapple, egg, chips, and beans. I'll pop it in the slow cooker in a mo 😋

Later on, probably some sort of crafting for me in front of Food Network, dd2 will definitely have her weekly catch up with a friend at a different school, and I'm not sure what dd1 will do!

Big clear up from DD's 18th party last night. We had a marquee thankfully, not in the house as the tent is a bit trashed.
After that not much. Will put the tree up this afternoon and have a big roast dinner I think. Wanted to put it up yesterday but it was frozen in the bucket we had put it in to have a drink before bringing it in the house. Bit warmer here today-yesterday was Baltic

That sounds like a lovely day! We’re currently lounging in our pj’s complimenting the tree we put up yesterday.
Im taking DS6 to B&M to choose presents for the family from him, we did it last year and it was such a hit, really random but logical to a small child, gift choices! DS is a sweetie and loves choosing them.
DP and DD are going to be putting the outside lights up.
This afternoon we’ll go see my mum for a few hours and then tea at a family members this evening. Lovely day all round really.

I’m ill so all plans cancelled, was supposed to be going to city centre Christmas market and lunch out with my friend and her daughters and DS GF.DS GF asked if she could bake today and she is really good so I have said yes. It is also very snowy where I am

Morning all. We're down visiting in London today for our pre-Christmas annual festive weekend with my brother. Currently still snuggling in bed and DD7 is asleep still after a late one at Kew Gardens last night. We will have a relaxed morning, I'm going to read my new Micheal Connelly book. This afternoon we are off to watch Matilda, I'm very excited, especially as the last time we tried to see it the production was cancelled due to COVID! Then if the weather is kind we are going to walk to Battersea power station to see David Hockney's new Christmas trees and have some dinner.

Me, dh, dd19 and dd9 have all been up nice and early today. Dd9 has been out and built a snowman and is now back on the sofa trying to warm up.

I’m currently eating Philadelphia on toast with a cup of tea in my pjs but will need to get moving soon as I need to be out by 10am. I need to drop my brother’s washing at his house (he moved in round this corner this week and is waiting for his washer which should come next week).

Dd9 has a dance performance this morning so I’ll take her there then round the Christmas market, grab her a McDonald’s on the way home for everyone and then dh is watching dd9 and my 10yo niece while I go for a late lunch with my sisters, cousins and uncle. Wine will be consumed.

I’ll be home late afternoon and making quesadillas for tea before showers and probably a bit of tv before bed.

We're heading to the Christmas market in a bit for a mooch and going to grab lunch there (£20 hotdogs here we come 😂) I'm going to pick up a couple more decorations for the house and maybe some little stocking fillers for the kids if I can sneak off for a bit. Then we're off to the in-laws for a cuppa and catch up before heading home for a cosy night in with a film.

We've had a scattering of snow here, hoping it'll last but we are due rain later. Hoping it holds off at least whilst we're round the market!

We are doing last minute packing before heading to the airport to jet off for a week of winter sun! 🛫

We are off to swim meet again a little later. Ds also competed Friday evening and yesterday and we had our extended family meal out yesterday evening for Christmas with secret Santa!

It's a large family (my mum was 1 of 7) and sadly she died last year so nice to see them all and everyone who lives away comes down for it.

There was about 60 of us and that was missing some!

All up here and fire lit, Christmas carols playing. DD currently sulking in her room after a row with DS 🙄 but that will blow over shortly. Later we'll go to the Christmas fair in a local secondary school (I'm considering it for DD in a few years so want to have a snoop around). Then all down to my mum's for dinner.

I'm going to be packaging and labelling the edible gifts I've been making as Christmas presents. While I've got my stash of Christmas fabric out I'm going to cut out pieces to make a table runner.

First on my list is to wash my hair, but that means braving a freezing cold bathroom 🥶.

DH is cooking lunch and I'm going to make a lemon sponge pudding.

Spending a week in the Brecon Beacons, it’s cold and wet outside but the cottage is cosy and very comfortable.
Off to do a food shop shortly, dog will need a walk and I’m cooking lunch for DD and us, no idea what!
A lazy week ahead apart from dog walks and looking around the area.

Morning. We have nothing at all planned today. Still in bed and DP has just gone to make us a second coffee.

Might go for a walk and I might see some gift bags.

Speaking of peg people, look at the beautiful new tree fairy that I bought yesterday. I’d love to be able to make these!

I have a filthy cold but powered through and did my weights workout and walked the dog in the pouring rain. They actually made me feel quite a bit better so hopefully the cold is on its way out.

I just gave DD breakfast in bed because she was so lovely when I was feeling rotten last night. She might go to her dad’s this morning - his road closes to traffic once each month so the kids can play out. But the weather is so crap I’m not sure it will be on.

I will make a lamb and sweet potato curry in the slow cooker for dinner tonight, do a bit of beading and binge watch Shetland. Although my exercise made me feel better I’m glad I don’t have to do any more!

Feeling so stressed about Christmas. I was going to get loads done this weekend but we've all come down with a virus so no progress and I'm exhausted by combination if virus and v little sleep as up with poorly 2 year old.
House is a tip so need to clear up before we can think of decorations arrrgh!
Need to have a cup of tea and get a grip I think!

Just taken the dogs for a walk in my new, super warm wellies! Now going to go for a run before packaging up some Vinted sales. Then going to head into Chester to do some Christmas shopping, then walking the dogs again. Going to watch my favourite Christmas film, Elf tonight ..and relax

I'm in bed, contemplating getting up. DH is downstairs hopefully making coffee to go with the Lidl almond croissants I bought last night when giving DD1 a lift home from her BFs.

We had a busy day yesterday sledging, cinema and Wagamamas for tea so quieter day today. DH was on a works day out.

DD1 going to a pals to do maths revision so will need a lift there. I'll go to the gym. We need to do a food shop and then there is a mountain of ironing to tackle.

DH heading onto a nightshift so he'll be back in bed soon.

Lugged 40 gallons of water to yard, dug a path to barn, turned horses out then 30 mins later they wanted to be back in.
Missed the shoot yesterday so now walking up the fell to do training for an hour or so.
Back home to buy Xmas tree then will be taking another 20 gallons of water back up to the yard.

Today I have a mountain of washing. It’ll take all day to get through it and I also need to clean the bedding as dh woke up sweating a lot last night.

Snow outside so dd is hoping we will go play in it later. I’m dreading it as it’ll be cold!

We don’t have the car as I let dh borrow mine to go work at his dad’s today on his vans. Mine is great in snow and his is an old beetle so wouldn’t make it out of the road. Also doesn’t have any heating.

Ive got lots of gifts to wrap still for family so if dd2 behaves today I may get some done. She was up a bit in the night and has just had a big sleep. Currently laid on my bed chewing her feet she’s suddenly discovered 😁I also need to do a big tidy up around the house as I put the trees up yesterday and it’s a bit messy.

Not sure what’s for dinner. Dh might be staying at his parents to watch redzone so may not be home until really late. He said he may come home earlier if it starts snowing again.

We are in Yorkshire and had quite a bit of snow last night, so snow shovelling for us and our lovely neighbour.

After thawing out, I'll be having a sort out of some of the Christmas decorations, ( not trimming up until the 12th though)
Writing the cards, starting the seasonal jigsaw 'Snowy Kendal' with Classic FM in the background,and pizza 🍕 for later.
Starting the second series of The Gilded Age tonight.

Morning from the Highlands. I’ve already gutted my bedroom this morning, it was so messy it was making my head hurt but the house is overcrowded and my space ends up being the dumping ground, especially this time of year. My bed now has my Mum’s crocheted blankets on for winter, which makes her still feel a little here.
We’ll do a good dog walk on the beach in a bit, test the kids’ new lined wellies, then it’s home to make shepherd’s pie for dinner and play board games.

Lol try spending a day in the snow when you've got horses. I bet you would change your mind 😏

Morning all. Currently drinking coffee watching Netflix with the dog… I was going to put the tree up today but my ex has arranged for DD to go to him today as an ‘extra’ day and put his tree up, she will feel crap about missing ours or doing two in one day, so I’ve said have a lovely day and am quietly seething instead… I will get over myself soon and do some chores instead probably…
