At this time of year we are besieged with images of glamorous women, draped over multi-cushioned immaculate beds in cashmere 'lounge trousers ' , perfectly coiffed, surrounded by armfuls of immaculate, smiling children, a tasteful decorated tree in blurry background. The reality in my house?

I just fell out of bed and realised that yesterdays makeup is all down my face, giving me that 'Alice cooper' vibe. My toe is sticking out of my holey bed socks (it was cold last night). My 'lounge wear' comprises
Holey grey woollen leggings which are so much darned that they are more hole than legging at this point
A striped kids PJ top in black and white hoops that adds to the Alice cooper vibe, and brings a jaunty 'cartoon burgular' angle.

All topped off with hair that really should have been washed yesterday and is now sticking up in an alarming 1980s recreation.
I just got up to make coffee and topped it all off with a beige cardi that I now realise has a stain on the front and that the cuffs are looking somewhat grubby too.

A glorious, glamorous sight, and no wonder DH can't keep his hands off me 😬😂

Who wants to,join my alternative to the White Company perfection look and share your glam 'lounge wear' of the moment MNers?

I have black leggings that are going where my thighs rub, nordic socks and a beige jumper. Grey slippers with silver stars. Hair not too bad as I washed and "did" it (on Thursday....)

Finishing touch is red party nail polish that has worm off at the tips

WithIcePlease · 02/12/2023 10:17

I'm no help. I bloody love a Juicy velour suit for around the house but MN seems to loathe them.

Janieforever · 02/12/2023 10:30

I got to that waynetta slob stage and decided to do something about it, as it didn’t incentivise me to want to be healthy and active. So now I try to dress nicely each day but in comfy clothes.

today I’m wearing a woollen bias cut midi skirt and jumper. I have topped it off with a pair of my husband big woollen socks, which isn’t the best look to be honest . I also like woollen midi dresses. Everything is soft and stretchy. My clothes are clean. My hair is brushed and clean, and I take my make up off each night and moisturise.

its not much effort, but honestly I feel so much better for doing it,

bin the bad clothes, wash the dirty ones, you will feel better.

To be truthful, PJ top, leggings, bedsocks, hideous Primark red Mickey Mouse oversized hooded fleece which was my mum's interpretation of an Oodie that I suggested for Christmas last year. I have last night's mascara crusted around my eyes but have brushed my bonkers curly hair as I looked positively demented first thing. No plans to get changed until we go to a Christmas market later today.

Or am i supposed to patronise and shame you like the poster above?

Wow, who pissed on your cornflakes this morning. 😂

usernother · 02/12/2023 11:02

Ha ha OP. I look like that some mornings. Your post made me laugh.

TwinMummaX · 02/12/2023 11:08

This post made me chuckle! Showered and in clean pjs & bedsocks here. Havent brushed my hair. I have already done far too much for a cold Saturday morning

MinervatheGreat · 02/12/2023 11:16

Men’s M&S straight leg black jog pants.
Black long sleeve T shirt & red half zip micro fleece here.
Thick sox, faux sheepskin slippers too.
Showered, moisturised, perfumed and lip stick. Hair brushed.
All done for my Amazon delivery any minute now! Lol! 😀

I don’t think the Waynetta exorcism is fully complete

biter · 02/12/2023 11:17

Right. I'm getting up now. Will wash the filthy bonce, clean off the mascara and get into proper clothes.

I've been Ill for weeks but TBH I do think that a lot of people wear weird, wonderful, and totally unappealing clothes around the house. I've deffo never met a 'White Company' woman who keeps it up all the time. I certainly don't. 😬😬😬😬

I do love the sound of that non-oodie MM thing. Hilarious 😂

@MinervatheGreat fabulous that you've made such an effort for the Amazon man , he'll be erm appreciative I'm sure 😬. They must see some sights on their rounds 😉

I have a fleecy pink dressing gown which I will shortly replace with my Saturday uniform of jeans and a jumper.

I realised yesterday that I wear the same outfit to the DC swimming lesson every week…
Oh well. I’m sure no one notices or cares.

uninterestingusernamealert · 02/12/2023 13:49

I've actually got what I thought would be lovely (and were not cheap!) charcoal grey merino wool joggers on. They're cuffed bottomed ones. They are lovely and warm. I do NOT however look like the lovely willowy model from the website because I am short, much chunkier of thigh, they're quite long in the body and I am not! They look absolutely dreadful, just not the right shape for me...plus they've gone really bobbly.

Then I've got a vest top and a long snuggly cardi on.

Bag lady look is going well here!

biter · 02/12/2023 16:17

@uninterestingusernamealert I've got some of those from piglet at home. Not cheap but look awful. All bobbly and old looking after the first few wears. And baggy in the arse. Fits my dishevelled look quite well though 😂

Aldi onsie - lovely and warm. Yes it does say Aldi all over it.

ThisHouseWillBeTheDeathOfMe · 02/12/2023 16:38

Black high waisted joggers. Black 3/4 sleeve top with sequins that says Fab Yule Lous. Dark brown Australia Luxe boots with fur round the top which I haven't taken off since this morning when I went out to the car. Think "Christmas Chav" although I'm excusing myself because I've been hauling decorations down.

I'm currently elevating the whole ensemble, by wearing my long pink dressing gown over it all. It's quite the look, with the boots. I'm cold. Grin

UtterlyButterly2048 · 02/12/2023 16:41

I have showered but my outfit isn’t the best……Ugg slippers with fleecy socks. A pair of DHs boxer shorts (way comfier than any of my own underwear!) some yoga pants, which looked amazing on the model but make me look rather like an over weight MC Hammer, an old gym t shirt and a bobbly old fleece top. No make up obviously and hair, which needs colouring, slapped back in a ponytail. Safe to say, I’m not looking my best 🤣🤣🤣 I care not! I’m comfy and warm and everything I own gets covered in dog hair anyway!!

thedukeofbuckinghamshire · 02/12/2023 16:57

A jumper dress and leggings, thermal socks and my (fake) oodie over the top. I must try not to spill my dinner down it tonight and it's a pain to wash and dry and has a faint aroma of damp most of the time.

Vicliz24 · 02/12/2023 17:45

My Husband's old lounge pants , lovely thick flannel a hideous trespass fleece hoodie with a thing polo neck underneath. Opaque pop socks and the old Uggs I wear as winter slippers. Covered in bits of fake snow from putting the Christmas tree up . I feel about 90 tonight and I look it too 😂

Butteredtoast55 · 02/12/2023 17:48

I've been in my thermal vest, star-print jumper, thick tights and denim skirt today. Wore my lovely Jones boots when I went out earlier and a deeply unflattering padded coat that makes me look like Makka Pakka.
I think the time is at hand to shift the mood to PJs, fluffy dressing gown and sheepskin slippers.

MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel · 02/12/2023 17:50

Joggers, hoodie, slipper socks with a holly pattern and cheap primark slipper boots. 2 day unwashed hair in a pony.

My at home uniform is joggers and a hoodie.

Fightarealfire · 02/12/2023 18:47

I’m wearing a green pj Tshirt from Tesco that has cheetahs on it and giant knickers (I wear Big Knickers anyway but I’ve gone from a size 22 to a 16… so they really are giant).

My nails are perfect in all their ‘chavvy’ acrylic glory though!

Draoicht · 02/12/2023 18:54

I am about to go to a party now, but until about 3 pm, I was wearing jeans, Uggs, a pink tee shirt with the slogan GIRLS BITE and a giant mustard-coloured lumberjack shirt that got left here after a party last year, not sure by whom. A goddess.

user1471538283 · 02/12/2023 20:09

I read somewhere that one poster tried to look half presentable should the doorbell go. I do not look half presentable.

Despite having quite a big arse these joggers are really baggy in the arse, I've got a thermal vest, a cardigan and big socks on. Certainly not the relaxed yet glamourous "loungewear" vibe. It's only going to get worse once I have my warm yet unsightly pyjamas on ...
