M&S 12 days of Christmas

I love this each year, today I got a free 75ml hand cream. Which isn’t likely to be as delicious as the florentines I got on day one last year, but you can’t complain about a freebie!

I’m hoping for a knitwear discount one day, I’ve had a cashmere cardi in my basket for weeks.

Who can top free hand cream this morning?! 😁

I honestly think it would be better if they just offered a free drink and mince pie via a voucher.

Yes, but that would cost them too much money, so better and cheaper for them to offer thousands of small-ish discounts on their already expensive products, discounts most people aren’t interested in using (if this thread is an indication of broader usage).

Britpopbaby · 08/12/2023 18:23

@1975wasthebest JL manage it with their reward card in terms of a selection of people being given free cake and coffee vouchers for them and sometimes a friend too. I think a couple of good ones would be better than what they are offering at the moment.

Went to redeem my free Discover perfume and needed a few bits.
Girl on till, looking irritated: ‘it only works on the app and it might be the Autograph perfume-did you check?’
Me: ‘yes thanks- I’m sure it’s this perfume and I did it online and checked the offer loaded to my Sparks card’
GOT: ‘it might not work, why don’t you have the app?’
Me: ‘Ive only got my work phone here, I wouldn’t be able to clog it up with apps for personal use. Would you mind scanning the perfume to see if it works and I would like to pay for my other bits please’
GOT: huffs, scans card and perfume, lo and behold, perfume discounted to zero.
Thanked her, paid, wished her a nice evening.
Teen DD: ‘HOW rude was she?!’
I am always pleasant to retail staff, it’s a thankless job and no doubt she’s fed up of explaining the Sparks deals to people like me. Would have been nice if she’d disguised her disgust though.

I never go in a branch that serves drinks and I hate mince pies. But I'm in our local branch at least every other day. So, no, that wouldn't work for some of us

Pigsinpainauchocolat · 09/12/2023 01:14

Just opened day 9 as I can't sleep (thanks menopause) and got 20% off M&S frozen stuff.
Now this might be useful - stock up on chips 😄

Issummernearlyover · 09/12/2023 06:46

At last something free - a bag of chocolate coins. I did the ten mile trek to my nearest M&S yesterday and doubt I'll do it again just for them. If it had been a bottle of gin, I'd make the effort. I do like a chocolate coin though.

Houseplanter · 09/12/2023 06:49

10% off nuts.

The worst day yet.

Eaumyword · 09/12/2023 07:35

20% off frozen.
JL was another entry to a competition!🙈

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 09/12/2023 07:44

20% off frozen. I might actually use that one, although I had no plans to buy M&S frozen food - but I'm so annoyed at the really disappointing showing so far that I don't actually want to. Part of me wants to show up on their post xmas analysis as onr of the 'x% opened every door and used 0 offers.'

JulesJules · 09/12/2023 07:49

M&S - 10% off nuts!
John Lewis - entry to a draw to win a Google Pixel 8 Pro smartphone

rookiemere · 09/12/2023 07:57

I was complaining to DH about how rubbish it is and then today I got a free pastry Smile.

JulesJules · 09/12/2023 07:58

John Lewis Members week is on now as well - every time you buy you get a golden ticket with prizes and discounts on offer. I haven't got one yet.

And I hesitate to introduce another 12 Days of Xmas app to click on, but I'm also checking Bloom & Wild - today's is entry to win some posh candles and also a 15% off discount code.

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 09/12/2023 08:24

Ooh, I didn't know about bloom and wild. I'm also checking ikea and l'occitane on their websites (not apps)

Same. What a joke.

1975wasthebest · 09/12/2023 09:24

20% off frozen foods so not too bad today.

inmycovoniaera · 09/12/2023 10:11

I'm actually very pleased (although free coffee and cake would be brill).

What I've got and used/ will use

  1. Free decoration
  2. 30% off decorations- got my crackers cheaper
  3. 20% off pyjamas
  4. 20% off biscuits
  5. 10% off flowers
  6. 20% off frozen food (going to really fill that freezer for January)

Only 3 that I haven't really liked (slippers, Christmas cake and Christmas jumpers). I've been checking JL daily too and theirs is far worse imo- the mascara and bear seemed to sell out immediately and it's just raffles.

If I get one more free thing I'd be very happy.

BarbaraofSeville · 09/12/2023 10:19

So far I've had free Colin's bits, which I've already collected and yesterday a free perfume, which googling, is from a range of designer fragrance dupes, so I'm going to see if I can pick one up when I go out later. Apart from that, I've just had the 10/20% off a load of stuff I'm not interested in.

Last year I got the free gin liqueur on day 1, but because I prefer 'normal' gin, never opened it and donated it to a raffle a few weeks ago.

JustGotToKeepOnKeepingOn · 09/12/2023 12:49

I've been quite pleased with mine. I've done better than I did last year! I've had free hand cream and used the 20% off pyjamas and biscuits and used 10% off flowers. So getting ££ off things I was going to buy anyway has been good.

10% off nuts.

The worst day yet.

Me too.... scraping the barrel m&s.

Crunchymum · 09/12/2023 14:40

Utter shite.

The only one I'd probably use would be the free decoration (day 1) and my local M&S doesn't seem to have any decorations?

VimtoVimto · 09/12/2023 16:15

I got a free tin of ground coffee today and as I was in town I’ve picked it up. I’m happy as it’s something I’ll use.

Britpopbaby · 09/12/2023 18:18

Free sweet pastry
