I am on the brink of tearing my house apart looking for a my son's waterproof coat. He wore it to scouts last week (and brought it home) and that was the last time it was seen. It's like the bloody X Files. I've looked high and low and gone through the last week's worth of Ring video. Defo came home from scouts. Defo didn't wear it out again - but absolutely not a sign of it anywhere. Is it some sort of dimension hopping alien?! What is going on?

Ah god help me I'm not that bad.

Check under pillows and under the duvet on his bed. I found a missing school shirt and a 6 pack of jam tarts under DS's pillow once.

In a bag? Fallen into laundry pile? Borrowed by sibling?

If its made of that slidey waterproof material then could've it slipped down the back,of a sofa or his bed and be on the floor/by the skirting board underneath either of those?

It's probably with wherever all the biros in my house have disappeared to.

Is he wearing it? That's where DH's glasses usually are when he can't find them.

And the 5 school cardigans, fleece and games top DD has lost.

I'm trying to recreate the evening in my mind.

He had to go out again later that evening for an event and I have this memory of wanting him to wear the coat over a soft shell uniform as it was going to be cold. But no go as he wanted to be sure the uniform was visible - first aid volunteer at event.

So I think I put it in a bag to give him the option to take it with him which he refused. Checked the doorbell vid and we didn't take a bag out of the house. I've looked through every bag I can find but no joy.

So now I'm wondering, did I actually put it in a bag or just talk about it. Aaaargh.

If only!! In fairness I do have great form for missing the thing which is directly in front of me.

@Kpo58 Do you have cats? If so, the biros are under the furniture.

Was it a carrier bag?Try the bin… someone might have put it in by mistake on the way out.

Also done 3 rounds of the house looking for a cardigan tonight, back of doors, under bed/, wardrobes, no sign, sending my support!!

God I really hope not.

Has it got caught up in a pile of clean laundry and accidentally put in someone else's wardrobe/chest of drawers? I did this once with DDs favourite cuddly toy - I turned my house upside down looking for it and eventually it just turned up totally randomly when I opened a drawer!
