What have you actually bought on Black Friday?

I've found the barrage of emails and ads quite overwhelming so haven't looked for anything until today.... when I bought:

Sunday Riley moisturiser (20% off at Liberty - used my beauty drop money)
An Aura digital photo frame for my parents for Christmas (£30 off)
An Emma Bridgwater calendar for 2024 (10% off)

All things I was going to buy at some point anyway. I don't think I'll look again now as it's too easy to spend money!

What have you bought this year, if anything?

LuckyFlickerman · 25/11/2023 01:18

Did my usual food shop, does that count?

thaegumathteth · 25/11/2023 01:47

I have bought a fair bit today but only two things because of it being BF

Laptop
New phone contract
Clinique face cream BF deal
Socks (because DD's seem to dissolve)
Sol de janeiro set BF deal
Period pants actually also a BF deal but needed and would've bought anyways

DreamingInPhosphorescence · 25/11/2023 01:51

Coffee, a jumper and a couple of books for Christmas presents.

OutOfSyncWithReality · 25/11/2023 01:53

Red clover in Holland and Barratts. £7 instead of £16.49. A miracle capsule that has completely stopped my peri hot flushes.

PaintPicturesBlueandGrey · 25/11/2023 04:01

Replacing a small 2 year old air fryer that was a gift with a large Ninja air fryer
DH has ordered himself 2 pairs of trousers.

decionsdecisions62 · 25/11/2023 04:28

Jumper and skirt from hush (presents)
Coat and scarf from urban outfitters (presents)
Lamp from dunelm ( presents)
Plates from la redoute ( presents)

All in sale so I've saved some money.

BusterGonad · 25/11/2023 04:37

I've bought a floral onesie from Mango, it's been in my basket for at least 2 months, from being full price to reduced and then an additional reduction due to BF. It's a belated birthday present to myself as I was far to skint to buy it at the time. It's going to be my Christmas outfit.

HundredMilesAnHour · 25/11/2023 05:46

My usual Kerastase shampoo with 45% off

Coffee beans discounted by 20% and a limited edition Hario V60 from Allpress (the beans are a regular purchase but the V60 is totally unnecessary as I already have 2 but this is a special edition - yes, I am a coffee marketer's dream)

My all-time favourite Goldfield & Banks perfume discounted by 20% (it's so expensive usually this is a win)

QueenRainbow · 25/11/2023 06:07

Popoid toys for my SEN daughter at 50% off (Christmas)
Threadheads tees for me at 19% off
A few gifts 10-25% off (all stuff I would have purchased anyway)

CrebillionFils · 25/11/2023 06:11

Yoto player and cards for dd
Ollie and Ella doll for dd
Eizabeth Scarlet pouch for mil (from my partner he wouldn’t bother otherwise and I’d get blamed)

Nothing for me…I really need new make up from a year on mat leave - but as usual mums are bottom of the pile

PieAndLattes · 25/11/2023 06:12

Nothing. It will all be cheaper in the January sales.

UseOfWeapons · 25/11/2023 06:14

Absolutely nothing!

Foxrouge · 25/11/2023 06:17

Vouchers for activities at an outdoor activity centre near us. I got some last year as well and while they do other discounts at various times the Black Friday prices are the best they offer.

Perfumes from the essence vault for dcs. Again, I got some last year and dc asked for more. Have been checking the site regularly and this is the only time they do this particular deal. 6 100ml bottles for 49.99. The dc were really impressed with the scents last year.

A slow cooker that my mum asked for for Christmas. It’s the cheapest price I’ve seen it since I started looking in the summer when she mentioned it.

My mum’s favourite perfume, hugely discounted, from
Boots this time.

I bought a few other bits in the Prime Day sale, again things I knew I wanted and had been watching the price of.

I have a make up palette in an online basket but have resisted checking out so far. It’s something I want but don’t NEED!

Oh and my son bought fifa on the PlayStation.

AuntieMarys · 25/11/2023 06:21

Nothing.
I need absolutely nothing and don't buy much at Xmas.

Luddite26 · 25/11/2023 06:31

A couple of years ago I bought what I thought was a beautiful Xmas tablecloth and other matching items on black Friday from Cath Kidston and they never came down any cheaper even in the Xmas sale which I am still amazed at!
I'm not really a black Friday purchaser but M n S had 20% off Minecraft Lego and some craft boxes seemed reasonable so I ordered them but would have bought anyway.at some point.

Fluffycloudsfloatinginthesky · 25/11/2023 06:51

The AF I ordered yesterday has just come down more and the cashback rate has gone up so I have just ordered a new one and will return the one I picked up yesterday....luckily I live 5 minutes walk from Argos so it's not a hassle.

It has dropped significantly since its lowest ever price on Amazon on Friday as I checked that before I ordered it anyway.

CaramelMac · 25/11/2023 07:23

A Dyson Airwrap and tickets to a local attraction that were 1/3 the usual price.

Britpopbaby · 25/11/2023 09:17

Perfume, foundation and lip balm in the beauty offer from John Lewis when the offers first appeared.

shivawn · 25/11/2023 09:24

All I bought was a kids toy, a Step 2 Rollercoaster for my 2 year old son, I've had my eye on it since last Christmas but could never justify the price. Got it €50 off, reduced from €240 down to €189 so I was pretty chuffed with that!

readingismycardio · 25/11/2023 09:28

Wallpaper for the nursery (25% off)
Cosori air fryer

AlwaysFreezing · 25/11/2023 09:35

Usually, nothing. But this year I have bought an air up bottle and some pods as a gift. And 2 crimpits. Also gifts.

TwoShades1 · 25/11/2023 09:43

I’ve actually used it as an opportunity to get most of the Christmas shopping done. I did surprise myself bit as I thought I would only get a few bits. But there were lots of very good sales, so I figured I might as well carry on. Feel quite organised now.

muckymayhem · 25/11/2023 09:43

An air fryer - I'm going to give it to DH for Christmas. I'm sure he will be thrilled.
