So what if she's had plastic surgery?- its her money, her body, her choice. She's not forcing anyone else to have it and she makes self depreciating jokes about it which shows she's not precious or haughty about it. Lots of other artists modify their looks with tattoos, piercings etc - its completely up to them to decide how they want to look. She's very open about it which I admire- she's honest, generous, kind, and a fantastic song writer. She looks absolutely fantastic to me.

She'd been talking about drugs before that, saying she never understood why people would spend money on mind-altering substances when she could buy several padded bras or a new wig with the same amount.

The marvelling at her looks at 77 is why. All 77 year old would look like that if they could afford it.

I could afford it now, but I don't want to. Doesn't mean I don't admire a 77 year old for getting up there and being fantastic in the way they choose.

She chooses to go out on stage in hot pants and big wigs despite being nearly 80, she'd be fine to be noticed! That's part of the iconic look she's created and how she's made her money and charity.

I adore Dolly. Shes the most golden person in the world.
Does anyone remember when she played Glastonbury and a dog was abandoned? She was going to fly him to her home if nobody else rehomed poor fella.

It's also telling when you hear other people talk about dolly, like Miley Cyrus said something along the lines of how dolly isn't aware how iconic she is.

I also bought my first guitar because of dolly and called it dolly. My lovely ex boyfriend who is very talented plays it to this day and when DP and I get married he's written a song for us he's going to play on that guitar🥰

I also live by a local library that benefits because of dolly and there is a big cardboard cut out of her, my fb profile (my goodness, I just do not give a flying fuck about being "outed" do I? I might as well just change my name to my phone number) is me giving dolly a big hug and kiss with my then baby DS hugging her the other side.

Going by the scorn regarding cosmetic surgery on here I doubt that "everyone" would. I've seen loads of vitriolic comments about how women should "age graciously" and stop messing with their faces etc.

I have, she's always been beautiful. Even with all the money in the world there's no way I could look as fabulous as she does, not now, and certainly not when i'm in my late 70s 😅

She is very clever, and must be tough as nails to do what she has done. I think she is fabulous. There was a brilliant podcast about her which may still be up. Think it was called something like Dolly Parton’s America. Covered a lot of ground, from her early influences to her cultural impact

I saw her live in Birmingham about 10 years ago. She'd had all of the flowers left at the door for her taken to the local hospice for the patients that day.

I saw her on an interview clip where the interviewer was being quite snipey about her dress sense and she said ' well you know I would never stoop so low as to be fashionable ' !! I really love that

I don't trust anyone who doesn't love Dolly. She's my barometer. It's served me well.
My theory is she takes off the wig, has no make up or nails and can mooch around without being noticed. Helped, of course, that no one knows what her husband looks like. Dolly smart yet again.

Remember her performance at Glastonbury, she really engaged with that crowd. And yes, the philanthropy. She comes across as a very decent person.

I read a story once where she confirmed that's exactly what she does when she's not working. "Dolly" as we see if her stage persona then when she's off living her 'real' life she takes off the wig, tones down the clothes and make up and no one recognises her. It's genius.

My favourite Dolly quote was when the interviewer asked how long it takes to style her hair, her response "I don't know, I'm never there when they do it" 😂

She's a philanthropist, hilarious, and extremely talented. What's not to love.
