This is why you shouldn't read your emails in public

Just received an email from a colleague - the email was entitled "Shits Today". She's sent it to approximately 100 people and I wish, more than I've wished for anything in a long time, that I could see a) her face when she realises what she's sent, and b) read the replies she gets.

Im in a cafe and am trying very very hard not to laugh out loud!

Some miserable people on this thread who have taken time out of their day to be rude to OP. Happy/content people would not do this.

ChessieFL · 23/11/2023 17:55

I sniggered when I saw this headline in our local paper

I don't know about reading emails in public but the Mumsnet thread last weekend in which the OP was unable to remove the PornHub logo from her Google browser had me crying with laughter whilst waiting for a train.
I was getting very funny looks!

This sounds worth a read - was it in chat?

@Fraca

It was yes. It was Mumsnet at its best - everyone helpful & completely non-judgemental.

Beeinalily · 23/11/2023 18:10

I've just remembered the mum in the doctors calling her toddler a tiny little wanker instead of a whiny little tinker 😂

RestingCatsArseFace · 23/11/2023 18:31

I almost stayed home the day I read the weather forecast that said 'there would be a shit in the wind patterns'.

Thank you - can you remember roughly what it was called?

@ChessieFL that article reminds me the time I sat through a student’s presentation on female genital mutation where she had a slide stating it was a pubic health issue.

I guess she wasn’t wrong but how I didn’t laugh I don’t know.

This thread has reminded me of a card that was sent round at work for everyone to sign for someone who was retiring. It was one of those musical cards that played Cliff Richard's 'Congratulations' when you opened it. People were trying to sign it without opening it too much so as not to alert the retiree, so once it started playing they'd close it just enough to sign it. We were in fits because all you kept hearing was "cunt" "cunt "cunt" coming from various desks all day.

😂

Fraca · 23/11/2023 19:10

Oh the pornhub thread has reappeared - off to read it!

Blimey if that has caused you to laugh this much I'd be questioning your sense of humour

What is the point in your comment? Seriously?

You’re being patronising and attempting to embarrass someone for absolutely no reason at all other than them having a different sense of humour to you.

Pathetic bully mentality. Grow up.

PoppyOrange · 23/11/2023 15:06

You're very easily amused OP.

Isn’t that better than being po faced. Laughing is good for you.

Bananaramad · 24/11/2023 08:00

I thought it was actually "shits today" complete with photos, sent to many in error, As I know someone with a bowel issue, who has to keep a record, Now that would be something you wouldn't want to see in a coffee shop.
edited for typo 😂

Sometimes it’s the little things in life that you find amusement from and that’s a good thing.

I do feel for that NHS employee though. Can you imagine sending something to over a million people and then crashing the entire server. Poor person must have been mortified.

There's nothing better than a good laugh, I love to laugh like anyone. But this isn't remotely funny.

To you. It isn’t funny to you. So what, move on to another thread if this one displeases you.

And if I displease you so much, please stop having a go! My response is none of your business.

pastaisgod · 24/11/2023 08:06

I love these threads. People who don't find it funny taking actual time from their day to comment telling us all how it's not funny and how pathetic it is to start a thread on it, yet here they are commenting. The mind boggles.

Let people have their fun you miserable twats. If you don't like it just scroll on by. No need to stop and try to educate the rest of us on your brand of approved humour.

PoppyOrange · 24/11/2023 08:08

As a "miserable twat" my opinion is just as valid on this thread as those who think a one letter typo is beyond hilarious. I wish my brain was that small it would solve a whole host of issues.

That really has made me laugh out loud.

Holidayhell22 · 24/11/2023 08:11

Yes I got invited to a Friday afternoon tea/cake thing. Only to realise it was sent to me in error (along with many other non invitees). The sender quickly apologised and hoped we all enjoyed the rest of our Friday, working, not enjoying tea and cake.

Goodornot · 24/11/2023 08:12

It's not that funny. Unless you're 10.

It's not a big deal to be laughing in a cafe. It isn't a funeral.

Misses point.

The miseries have brought to mind an image of Margot Leadbetter in 'The Good Life' looking bemused, asking "but why is it funny Jerry?" as Tom, Barbara and Jerry are in fits of laughter over something very silly.

Some of the posts on this thread have really made me laugh so thanks so much for starting it OP.

I think I might have received that one too, along with the million other NHS employees. grin

I remember this too! DH and DB also NHS workers and I remember us all having a right laugh about it!
