What could have bitten me?

Noticed 3 small raised bumps just above my hip last night.

Today they started itching and I accidentally knocked them and now they’re a bit watery. Any ideas of what it could be? Assuming it’s some kind of bite.

What could have bitten me?

On the off chance it's an animal you'll need at least a course of antibiotics possibly a tetanus and if, by some poor luck it's a bat, rabies shots.

Lilacdressinggown · 21/11/2023 18:32

Mosquito. I think it has been disturbed and had a second suck close to the first attempt

Namenotavailableagain · 21/11/2023 18:33

It's probably a spider though

There are 3 wounds

eandz13 · 21/11/2023 18:35

Most likely a spider that's been trapped under your top/been lay on and tried to escape

3 Mosquitoes.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 21/11/2023 18:36

Looks like alien test marks to me. They have had you plugged into something!

3 Mosquitoes.

😂😂

In seriousness though, I live near water (UK) so we do tend to have mosquitoes but these feel totally different from mosquito bites I’ve had in the past. They’re usually larger and more raised.

AncientBallerina · 21/11/2023 18:53

Given the location could it be shingles?

TerrifiedandWorried · 21/11/2023 18:54

Bed bugs

My DH had similar on his back; we were convinced it was a spider bite but it turned out to be shingles.
DS came out in chicken pox the day after the GP diagnosed shingles in DH!

PumpkinSpiceSeason · 21/11/2023 19:21

Our cat had fleas and I had a few bites that look like that. One on my stomach and two on my ankle.

SilverSpringss · 21/11/2023 19:23

I think shingles. It is painful?

LightSpeeds · 21/11/2023 19:41

In my experience, spider bites hurt (a lot) as soon as you've been bitten.

There are still mosquitoes around this time of year.

iamme21 · 21/11/2023 19:49

Shingles

DogandMog · 21/11/2023 19:54

Bedbugs - classic breakfast, lunch and dinner bites. Check your bedding/mattress/bedframe for blackish sharpie like dots.

Tanaria · 21/11/2023 20:34

The cluster and description of small, red, raised and itchy does point to bed bugs. Did you scratch them?

PlipPlopChoo · 21/11/2023 22:14

Triceratops?

Fantasia99 · 21/11/2023 22:27

Looks like bed bugs!

AncientBallerina · 21/11/2023 23:12

If you are in pain itchy and feel a bit unwell I would get it checked for shingles (especially with the fluid filled lesions!) you need to get in Zovirax within for 48h or f the rash appearing. Take your temperature - if it’s raised then you definitely have an infection of some sort although not all
asults get raise temperatures. I have had shingles three times and I have post herpetov neuralgia from which .I have never recovered. Better safe than sorry. Mosquitoes tend not to bite in the same place

MrsClausno27 · 21/11/2023 23:14

Wait ... spiders bite ???

SurelySmartie · 22/11/2023 01:49

Yes the big uk ones can do unfortunately. Obviously a false widow bite is the worst, like a wasp sting, but some others can give a nip if provoked.

JFT · 22/11/2023 01:52

Mosquito far most likely, bed bug maybe.

TomatoSandwiches · 22/11/2023 01:56

That's not shingles, haven't seen bed bug bites before though.
