What could have bitten me?

Noticed 3 small raised bumps just above my hip last night.

Today they started itching and I accidentally knocked them and now they’re a bit watery. Any ideas of what it could be? Assuming it’s some kind of bite.

How can you be sure its not shingles?

Obviously I can't say with 100% certainty but I've had shingles 8 times, it's never looked like that even at the start of it occuring.

When I had shingles I initially thought I’d been bitten by an insect- three raised itchy spots exactly where yours are- about 48 hours before the whole rash came out

If you are in the UK, I don't think it's a spider bite, because it would have to be HUGE to have fangs to be so far apart! The top one looks a bit similar to shingles when it starts, the bottom two look more bite like.
No idea what has nipped you OP, but hope they've eased up, keep an eye on them, and if they get any worse get a pharmacist to check them.

The do indeed. I’ve ended up in hospital before after being bitten by a spider and needed IV anti biotics. I live in Scotland btw

I’m another that’s seen blisters similar to that and been shingles.

I've had shingles before. It looked like that at first and was as itchy as a regular bug bite. Then it started to turn purple and I got a tingly pain with the itching.

Update! Going to call the GP on Monday because I feel it’s getting worse. Starting to sting now and bit of a rash?

Does it still look like it could be shingles? (I’ve never had it before or know anyone that has).

If it's shingles you need to call 111 - you need anti virals straight away. Don't wait til Monday!

Oooh. That looks nasty. I’ve had countless mosquitos bites and they’ve never looked like that.

I do! forgot to put in my OP I had a diagnostic laparoscopy last week, so this week I’ve just been resting. I feel tired and sore from the surgery but apart from that I feel OK. & the just this bite/rash/suspected shingles. It’s itchy and stings to touch.

It’s starting to look like shingles, please don’t wait until Monday. Call 111 and ask for advice. 👍

You need anti virals asap - Monday is too late (today is a bit late tbh). Call 111! My husband had v similar, thought it was bites but turned out to be shingles. Do call!!
