London shopping service? Is this a thing? Can you pay someone to go to a shop on London for you? (Christmas)

DD is obsessed with an American rapper and wants his merch for Christmas.

Only his American website ships and the reviews say delivery to Europe is very unpredictable.

He has recently opened a shop in central London but I'm in the NW and can't afford the train tickets ontop of the merch and don't have the time to travel there at all. I don't know anyone in London.
All the places like ebay/vinted have no feedback for sellers or the prices are tripled!

Is there such thing as paying a person via PayPal for the goods plus postage and a finders fee or something? Does anyone know of a reputable service for this? Don't want to get scammed obviously.

MNers are generally nice people so I’m sure someone would offer here, but do be careful because as you say you’d open yourself up to scams!

I just want a few Tshirts and hats with the branding on.

I'll try now but not holding out much hope as I tried similar last year when looking for something on DS list. Lots of indie stores had it but wouldn't post.

Never heard of them, am looking into the logistics of it now. I wonder if I could pay the shop directly and have someone just collect the order?

You must have some idea of what items exist from the US site, so if they can send then you can describe what you want and they find them. It's how John Lewis used to do remote sales before t'internet.

I would contact his online site - in the US - asking for contact details for the UK store.

Then call the store and ask if they'd post it. If not, you can pay over the phone and have a courier collect it - DPD or similar.

TaskRabbit is legit. You can ask it for someone to pick up something from Ikea, bring it to your house and assemble it, things like that.

So I can imagine someone based in London would buy things and send them to you, for a price of course.

Although if you can get the shop on the phone, it's probably likely to be a cheaper and less reliant on trusting a stranger way of sourcing the items.

But how can I ask taskrabbit if I have no idea what's in the shop, no idea of prices, sizes etc.

I was even looking at coaches but it's 5 hours each way and DD would probably be devastated that I went without her.

Who is the rapper and where is the shop/what's the shop called?

(If you let us know then a Londoner here might at least be able to pop in and confirm it's a real shop etc)

Can you take her during the Christmas holidays? Make her a card with a voucher saying her present is a day trip to this store with £x to spend?

Yes but it's counterfeit. She wants real stuff.

The real stuff is resold at 3x the retail value as its hard to get.

I really hate London. It would only be about £50 for us to go on the coach but would be 10 hours of travel in one day.

It looks like you can order online. I tried to do a dummy purchase and it says international shipping is free on purchases over $150. I have bought stuff in dollars before and my bank just auto converted it. If you have a credit card, use that for the protection.
