Obviously you can't see my face (which to be honest would be traumatic for everyone witnessing it, but I've recently gone light after being dark all my life ...

Opinions?

I think the colour is lovely! Are you happy with it?
I’ve found that when I went lighter I needed to switch up my make up a little, jusg some of the colours.

Mamato29192 · 17/11/2023 20:51

I like both but prefer brunette x

filthypride · 17/11/2023 20:53

@Hiddenvoice

It a big change, and as for makeup, I rarely wear any, but I have added blush more recently ...

.. and thank you :-)

I prefer the brunette

GonnaGetGoingReturns · 17/11/2023 21:03

Both look nice. Maybe have more highlights but stick with brunette

Olika · 17/11/2023 21:04

I like the lighter, not keen on brunette

Barleymilk · 17/11/2023 21:04

Blonde is lovely

samestyle · 17/11/2023 21:05

Blonde

Bertiesmum3 · 17/11/2023 21:06

Really difficult to see what colour suits you best but prefer the darker colour

LizHoney · 17/11/2023 21:07

That brunette is a gorgeous look.

catwithflowers · 17/11/2023 21:08

You have lovely hair. Both nice but I prefer the brunette.

PurplePansy05 · 17/11/2023 21:09

Both look good, I prefer dark though. Even without seeing your face it seems like a more natural fit for you.

Catsmere · 17/11/2023 21:30

Can't tell without knowing your skin tone, unfortunately. I prefer the brunette but I always prefer darker hair.

JamSandle · 17/11/2023 21:31

I really like the brunette look on you.

BeenRoundThatBlock · 17/11/2023 21:34

Not the point of the thread, I appreciate, but

@filthypride please tell us how you went from brunette to that blonde!

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 17/11/2023 21:35

Blonde hands down

SofiYol · 17/11/2023 21:37

Blonde

Jewelspun · 17/11/2023 21:38

I prefer darker. The lighter one is giving me Gail from Coronation street wig vibes.

filthypride · 17/11/2023 21:58

@BeenRoundThatBlock

It took a while. Lightning with 30% peroxide x 2, then a bleach bath followed by an toner (twice). Can't tell you exactly what it was as I couldn't see

I think without seeing any colour in your face (eyes, cheeks, lips and skin tone)it’s difficult to comment.

on hair colour Alone I think I prefer the tones in the blonde. How do you feel?

BeenRoundThatBlock · 18/11/2023 06:17

@filthypride I figured it would be quite the process!

How are you finding it? Do you like?

filthypride · 18/11/2023 08:20

@BeenRoundThatBlock

I was an arduous task!!

I really do like it, such a massive change, but being dark with the grey coming through it was a challenge to constantly be touching up the roots, whereas now I'm lighter, the regrowth shouldn't be so vastly noticeable.

Without dyeing my hair I am naturally very dark dark brown. I obviously had some lowlights through it, but still, the greying hair was so flipping noticeable, it was stressing me out and also expensive. Every 2 weeks I'd be buying hair dye to do the roots. Over the last decade I've spent a small fortune whereas I could of just lightened it!!!

Both are lovely.

But without seeing your face, particularly skin tone it’s impossible to really tell.

MrsPatrickDempsey · 18/11/2023 08:30

I agree - really can't judge on the hair colour alone. It has to be about the whole look.

Catsmere · 18/11/2023 08:33

I know what a pain it is keeping up dark hair when the grey is galloping ahead, OP! I was naturally mid-dark brown and did my hair black for years. Had to get it touched up every month - it grew 10cm in that time. When I moved and wasn’t going to get mate’s rates any more, my hairdresser did a sort of ombre bleach and I let it grow out from that. Now it’s all grey, and I use Fudge Clean Blonde to kill the yellowish tones. Makes it a sort of silver mauve, and I’ve had more compliments on it than ever in my life!
