Does anyone have a wool duvet?

We need a new duvet (obviously this is quite a boring post!) and I am a bit overwhelmed by options. I have seen wool duvets, which I didn't know existed, but seem like a great option on lots of levels - sustainable, British, natural fibres etc etc etc

Does anyone have one? Can you recommend a brand? Are they good? Or any other recommendations for duvets gratefully received!

I like my winter weight one and it stops me overheating but I do find it less snuggly at bedtime. We keep our room cold and it's not warm enough for me all winter.

I got a seconds one from baavet we use it year round. Very good.

Too hot and too heavy for me! I always have a stuffy nose if I have feathers so it's synthetic for me.

Right, woolroom might be winning on price and also do a bundle discount - from never hearing about these I'm going all in - you can get a mattress protector and pillows too and it's a really good deal I think.

But, how are the pillows? Some people have said they hated them... any reviews?

I have one of the pillows in Superking.

It’s fine- I kept meaning to buy more wool (which you can order from Woolroom directly) to make it a bit firmer, but never got round to it.

I prefer my memory foam pillow from Dunelm, and only use the wool one when I’m reading in bed. DH is aghast at this and keeps trying to steal it- he can fuck off and buy his own, it was 60 quid!

Someone asked upthread about the Woolroom pillows. They are a padded case, full of loosely- packed wool stuffing, so you can adjust the volume or replace the filling. I like mine, because I get neck ache if my pillow is too thick, and it's easy to shape the pillow the way I like, to give neck support. It wouldn't be ideal for those who like the more rigid, foam type of pillow.

Yes. We have a wool super king and we use it all year. Great duvet.

I have two Wool Room ones - a summer and a winter. They're great and virtually eliminated my peri night sweats.

It was me! Thank you. I will try some as my duck feather pillows have lost their pep

Another Baavet here. I love it. Cool in summer and warm in winter. I do find I need a bedspread in the winter.

Spottywombat · 15/11/2023 23:18

Baavet. Fab. Very sustainable too.

The dog likes the wool dogbed too, doesn't go to smell. 👌

Welshdotty · 13/02/2024 10:53

Another one for baavet here! Did you order from the wool room? How did you find them?

The reason I went for Baavet was because they are a UK made company where the wool room products are made abroad.

Paddingtonthebear · 13/02/2024 10:56

We have Soak and Sleep wool duvets. Would never go back to anything else now. Did buy woolroom pillows but they were too thick unfortunately, they went off to the charity shop
