Temu email spam

Gnomegnomegnome · 12/11/2023 20:58

I have never even looked at the temu website, no interest whatsoever but recently I have been getting multiple emails from them a day.
I blocked all of their ads on social media because it’s everyfuckingwhere.
I’m reporting as junk and blocking the sender each time but still they keep coming!

Make it stop!

I get these too. No way to stop it as they change the sender email every time. I've just been reporting and deleting without opening..

QueenOfThorns · 12/11/2023 21:00

Yes, I’ve been getting these too. They’re not from Temu, they’re a scam, and will be coming from lots of different addresses, so blocking the sender won’t help.

Gnomegnomegnome · 12/11/2023 21:28

It’s really annoying!

Forward them onto [email protected] they pull the emails apart and do some wizardry that identifies and blocks the place they're being sent from.

LadyGaGasPokerFace · 12/11/2023 21:33

I get these every day too. Really fucking irritating @RuhRohRaggy thanks for that tip, I will forward it on.

Tessisme · 14/11/2023 11:26

I suddenly started getting all sorts of spam emails a few months ago and reported every time. It went down to just a couple a week in my inbox and a few straight to junk, so I wasn't too worried about those. But the Temu ones started a few days ago and I'm getting about 10 a day. Bloody annoying.

SnakeyS · 14/11/2023 11:27

Me too, I’ve never shopped at Temu.
It’s very annoying.

RuhRohRaggy · 14/11/2023 11:29

https://haveibeenpwned.com/ check here to see where your email has been leaked from. Then tighten up your passwords and do some GDPR data deletion requests to companies you no longer need contact with.

Have I Been Pwned: Check if your email has been compromised in a data breach

Have I Been Pwned allows you to search across multiple data breaches to see if your email address or phone number has been compromised.

Me too. Following on from the annoying Oral B ones I was getting previously. I keep reporting them as junk

The account I get the emails too is not showing up on here.

rockingbird · 14/11/2023 11:37

I've had endless emails from this company to!! I can't seem to stop them.. 😬

RuhRohRaggy · 14/11/2023 11:38

Sign up for their alerts, it may be it's out there and the breach hasn't yet been detected. Given the amount of people this is affecting it seems some form of social media or other has leached data from somewhere. Someone's done a scrape and found you.

RuhRohRaggy · 14/11/2023 11:38

In the meantime forward to the government phishing address and report as spam and block through your email provider. Don't click on any links in the emails.

NannyGythaOgg · 14/11/2023 12:18

I have bought from Temu. I have used a different spelling of my name and the only communications I have had are concerning my order. No ads at all, so I suspect it is some sort of scam and nothing to do with Temu

Plankingplanks · 14/11/2023 13:33

If i try to block them it says that I can't block my own organisation, which is ridiculous as it's just an Outlook account

RuhRohRaggy · 14/11/2023 13:41

Send it to spam and keep sending them to spam. You've probably entered your details somewhere dodgy like a 'competition' or similar type of site. They'll stop when they get no bites.

LBFseBrom · 14/11/2023 14:01

I have the same, Gnome, and from other places every day. Like you, I block them but they keep coming.

It doesn't overly bother me, I just accept that is life but I can understand how it could really annoy some people. I have a cousin who is very upset by any junk mail, through the post (I have that too).

Hohofortherobbers · 14/11/2023 14:18

This is happening to me at the moment, I am being deluged with phishing spam. Only started in the last fortnight. I keep blocking and reporting. Is there any way to stop it??

ToriTheStoryteller · 14/11/2023 14:21

I got loads but now I can't block them because somehow the emails say they are being sent by me on behalf of temp. So it says I can't block a member of my own organisation.
Same with a solar panel email. It's so annoying, there must be 20+ per day now.

ToriTheStoryteller · 14/11/2023 14:21

Temu not temp.

Gnomegnomegnome · 14/11/2023 14:23

Thanks @RuhRohRaggy !

Take the actions I've advised on this thread

SnakeyS · 14/11/2023 17:45

Very helpful @RuhRohRaggy
I just got a-bloody-nother one so reported it

RubyRoseVioletLillyJasminePeach · 14/11/2023 18:18

If your friends/ contacts use temu it will have stolen all their contacts.

Mumaway · 14/11/2023 18:19

Me too, it only started this week and is multiples a day.
I went on to desktop Outlook and created a rule that anything containing the word TEMU or TEMU is autodeleted
