Every time I open one some fucker has it open but isn't doing anything.

I repeatedly send messages in our Teams chat to please NOT do this and get "Oopsy lol! Silly me again!".

Drives me mad!! And my person clearly thinks they own the spreadsheet. They open it first thing even if they’re not updating it.

What about uploading the spreadsheet in one drive or similar then different people can work on the same spreadsheet at the same time. Otherwise you need to move away from spreadsheets as they will drive you mad.

Just set them to share, surely?

I often have spreadsheets open the whole day. They are on the shared drive and multiple people can edit at once.

If you right click then select open in browser, multiple people can work on them at once and ours saves automatically. We do this at work, I have my page on the spreadsheet open all day some days as I’m constantly updating it.

Slightly guilty of this. However shared spreadsheets are super fcking annoying in general - I work on it a lot throughout the day and it is annoying having to ask someone to come out all the time, or sign out for the ten minutes I'm not using it then sign back in.

Just use sharepoint or similar? Non-issue then.

I agree, this enraged me this morning too. I got "oh sorry littlebitpsycho I didn't realise you needed it" what the spreadsheet SPECIFICALLY made for ME to do MY job? I won't need that one? OK cool I'll just take a fully paid day off then 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

I hate speadsheets and am rubbsuh at rhem. Apprently you can fet AI to do them noe?

Change the settings so multiple people can edit at once. Or on SharePoint, which will do it automatically.

Don't do Teams messages. If you know who it is, speak to them. If they repeatedly persist, then tell them it's harassment.

Apart from when some fucker doesn’t close it and log off properly overnight and all sorts of weird things happen with older versions appearing as the latest 🤬🤬

I’m guilty of leaving the sharepoint one open. Sometimes I have to check it for just a second a dozen times in the day. It’s such a pain to open and close it each time. It’s really easy to forget to close when I log off at the end of the day. I’m trying to be really good about not keeping it open though because the whole point is for staff to update things and for me to keep an eye on progress and pull out the details. I really wish we had a better system.
