Do you open your post daily?

Another thread got me thinking about this. I open post maybe once or twice a month. I have a letter rack in the hall and just chuck it in there when it arrives. Then just sit down at some point and check through it all at once.

Obviously if I'm waiting for something important like let's say a job offer, I would keep a more careful eye on it but otherwise not.

I'm in my 50s and I'd say I haven't missed anything important in at least 20 years so I don't see a reason to change it but just wondered if I'm unusual in that.

Everyone I know opens it as soon as they get it.

I open it immediately, getting post is exciting.

Yes, every day. I'm not sure why you wouldn't. It doesn't take very long to open a letter!

Why wait so long just pick it up from doorstep and open while the kettle boils lol. Most of its crap anyway so straight into recycling

Open as soon as i get it. It might be something important you aren't expecting.

I open it when I receive it, don't receive hardly any post though. Once a week maybe!

I open most of it straight away, if it's obviously just a catalogue or similar I might not bother for a day or two. I thought that was what most people do.

I would think only checking mail once or twice a month to be very odd- yes!
My post box is near the front fence and depending on weather, I don't go and check it daily. Several times a week though.

I used to open it about once a fortnight but I hate the clutter so I generally open it and recycle or shred unwanted post the day it comes in and then file anything that needs to be filed every 3 or 4 weeks.

The post doesn’t turn up very often here but is opened when received.

A few years ago when depressed I stopped opening post as it was scary and built up a fine. I now open it ASAP!

I'll open anything that look urgent the same day such as hospital correspondence etc.. Other letters (including mortgage details) after a few days when the hall looks cluttered and guilt gets the better of me.

I open mine straight away. Even the boring stuff.

I'm with you OP. I only open my post a couple of times a month as well, unless something arrives that looks unusually important. I am a procrastinator in general.

Another one here who's scared of official-looking post. I leave it for months. It's got me into trouble with missing things but the Fear of Admin is strong.

Cards, catalogues etc, anything non-threatening - open immediately or recycle unopened

I open it at the front door! Post is a rare occurrence

I don’t get much post-almost everything is online, bills wise etc.
I only really get “nice” post like cards and parcels and presents. All opened immediately unless I am working late then it might be 24hrs.

DH never opens post, drives me absolutely potty. That and his 9 trillion unread emails.

Ah I’m a big procrastinator as well so maybe that’s the explanation for it!

I’m a let it build up and open infrequently type as well. Ironically as I’m a lawyer so really should know better!

Open it on a Friday afternoon and shred it immediately unless important

We get about two letters a week. They are opened immediately!

Who gets post every day? We’re lucky if we get post once a week. Apparently, they’re short staffed and prioritise parcels. Our postie was delivering today on our estate at 11am and still delivering at 4pm, so there must have been an awful lot backed up.

We no longer get post daily, but I always open it on the day it arrives, yes.
Can't see any reason why you wouldn't.
