Popperzip · 06/11/2023 20:40

So I’ve booked myself in next week for aqualyx fat dissolving injections for my whole stomach.

has anyone had experience of how many treatments this needs for the stomach area?

Im 12 stone and a size 14 if any relevance.

thank you

They don’t work you know,

get some really good Spanx pants, they do work

Popperzip · 06/11/2023 20:43

@isthewashingdryyet why do you think that ?

Only very strong acids can dissolve fat, and that would be very dangerous if it were to be injected.
Basic science is how I know this.

but it’s your money and your health, so go ahead

Popperzip · 06/11/2023 21:04

@isthewashingdryyet how come I’ve read and seen results that it’s worked on people’s chins and their hips?

isthewashingdryyet · 06/11/2023 21:09

Well, some people believe everything they read on the internet, and other people apply basic sciences principles and don’t believe all the shiny photos and gumph written by people who want to separate you from your money

uhtredsonofuhtred1 · 06/11/2023 21:09

It does work but only on small concentrated areas I think. Bigger areas just aren't worth it in my opinion. I've got inner saddlebags (if that's the right term) am fairly slim anyway and found that I achieved a good result. I'd love to get my whole thighs done but i don't think the results would show that much

MRSMTO · 06/11/2023 21:15

I've had them. Twice. Absolute waste of time and money. Honestly.

MRSMTO · 06/11/2023 21:17

Oh and I had them on my stomach too! Seriously, they made no difference whatsoever. I also spent every week having RF on my stomach too. That did nothing either!

LightsOutAndAwayWeGooooo · 06/11/2023 21:25

They won't do anything on your stomach - it's too large an area. Double chin yes, but claims from people saying it worked on their stomach is massively exaggerated.

Please save your money OP.

I am exact same weight and size as you, was looking at ozempic etc, but in the end, I've joined a gym and doing it the right way.

Popperzip · 06/11/2023 21:26

@MRSMTO whats RF?

@LightsOutAndAwayWeGooooo thank you for your reply you’ve made me feel a little better about myself I appreciate the response

Honestly, it infuriates me cause it won't work; yet these so called specialists hope to claw in insecure people like us.

It's going to take a few months for me to see changes but the exercising is also helping with my mental health too which is an added bonus.
I always remember how good I feel after a class or gym workout - and that feeling only costs me the cost of my monthly membership which is MUCH cheaper than injections lol

Popperzip · 06/11/2023 21:34

@LightsOutAndAwayWeGooooo i do partake in mui Thai 3x a week with a trainer I’m just struggling to with the last stone and a half and my wobbly bits and yes your right it is down to insecurities.
doesn’t help the photos I looked at earlier for my daughters party this weekend, I’m just frustrated with getting rid of the excess that makes me unhappy.

HowAmYa · 06/11/2023 21:40

Few people I know have done these things, they're cheap and affordable because they don't work.

I've recently lost a stone from intermittent fasting coupled with Keto. V low carb, 18 hours fasting and 6 hour eating window. Its worked better than anything I've tried before.

HowAmYa · 06/11/2023 21:40

To add. I was 12st 8lbs in Sept and a size 14 and now I'm 11st 8 and a size 12.

Popperzip · 06/11/2023 21:44

Well done @HowAmYa

OP posts:
HowAmYa · 06/11/2023 21:47

Sorry I wasn't bragging bit its more so to show we are I the same boat and doing fasting/keto is more effective than the injections.

I cant tell you how many times I've almost booked an appointment for the stuff! Even paid and lost a deposit for the stomach injections. Nearly paid a deposit for the double chin injections. Belly is still soft and wiggly but much smaller. Double chin has all but gone...and I almost spent 150 quid on that!

HowAmYa · 06/11/2023 21:47

Thank you OP x

Popperzip · 06/11/2023 21:48

@HowAmYa dont apologise I know you didn’t mean it that way, I was sincere with my well done, as in im really pleased for you.
does it take a lot of self control for the fasting? When you say 6 hours, does that mean you eat for the whole 6 hours?

OP posts:
BakedTattie · 06/11/2023 21:49

I had them, a course of 4 I think. Absolute waste of time and money. Left me bruised, sore And pissed off

Popperzip · 06/11/2023 21:50

@BakedTattie shit 😬 how bad was it?

Popperzip · 06/11/2023 21:26

@MRSMTO whats RF?

I'll copy and paste it!

Radiofrequency skin tightening also gently massages to improve microcirculation and lymphatic drainage to enhance the natural elimination of trapped toxins and dead fat cells from the body.

I had it with lymphatic drainage once a week for ages! Seriously, it doesn't work! If it did I'd sing it from the roof tops but it doesn't! I am very bad with eating and have lost a lot of weight because of it anyway and the fat dissolving was just another thing to become obsessed with weight/body wise. In the end, I had a massive belly tattoo to cover up the very few stretch marks I had and to make me feel better about my tummy. That's done much better job at boosting my confidence in that particular area more than what the injections and RF ever did!

TooFondOfBooks · 06/11/2023 22:24

I understand you feeling tempted OP, but about a third of people on a large beauty/cosmetic treatments website weren’t satisfied - & it’s still true that the treatment is not FDA approved.

The results from the study someone else posted need careful reading - & it’s an old (& very small!) study: if the stuff worked, at 18 years after that paper’s publication, there would be an abundance of evidence, FDA approval, & the NHS making use of it.

FDA Warns: Fat-Dissolving Spa Claims Are Unfounded

The Food and Drug Administration cited a half-dozen spas for making misleading claims about a fat-busting regimen of shots often called "lipodissolve." The agency hasn't approved the medicines for that use.
