Vinted issue

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 08:09

Last night I collected my parcel from my neighbour and it was meant to be a pair of pjs and there was entirely something else in the parcel.

I messaged the buyer and they never sent that item they say and I’ve had to report the issue to Vinted, they asked me to send a photo of 2 labels by peeling back the original label. There’s only one label stuck on the bag and if I peel it off I’ll rip it.

I’ve sent them photos and they’ve said they are going to report back to the courier and it could take up to 2 weeks. I’m not getting my money back am I ?

has anyone else been in this situation, what was the outcome ?

Report an issue to vinted and they will sort it.

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 08:13

@JustACountryMusicGirlInCowboyBoots I have reported the issue.

Did you get the buyer protection when you ordered it? (Costs about £2 extra but covers situations like this?)

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 08:14

@limefrog buyer protection is automatic. I’m worried that without a place to send the item back I’m going to have to keep it and not have a refund.
The seller doesn’t know where these items have come from that have been sent to me.

Well if the seller hasn't sent those items surely that's a separate issue.

Have you asked the seller where your item is? Who did they post with?

Are you saying they posted your items but they never arrived and you've mistakenly recieved someone else's parcel?

Surely that the couriers problem? Have you contacted them?

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 08:22

@ChubbyFunsta yes a different item has arrived that the seller didn’t send and yodel is the courier.
The tracking info is the same through Vinted but the items are different.
Yodel has been contacted via Vinted.

I don’t get the two labels bit

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 08:36

@Flipdiddle neither did I, that’s what the support message said to me peel back the original label to find a label underneath and photograph both labels.
I replied to them there’s only one label, I couldn’t peel it back anymore otherwise it would rip.
that’s when support messaged to say they will report back to the courier and this could take up to 2 weeks.

Was this an InPost locker by any chance @Xjejeloelelesl?

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 08:57

@Inyourwildestdreams no unfortunately home delivery, which is why I can’t understand what’s happened. If the seller is correct in what they are saying they sent the pjs then I don’t understand how the PJs tracking number is on this parcel with completely different items in it.

Inyourwildestdreams · 06/11/2023 09:00

@Xjejeloelelesl What courier did they use though? They’re having a terrible problem with this in my area as with some of the lockers, the seller gets a code and they drop it off in the locker with no label. When the courier picks it up they then attach a label to it and it’s then sent on for either home delivery or to a pick up locker. I know a few people who have sent stuff and the completely wrong items have arrived at the buyer.

maximist · 06/11/2023 09:00

I had this, with an inpost parcel. Vinted refunded me after about a week or so. I didn't have to send the wrong item back anywhere, sadly it was a pair of Gucci shoes that I was pretty sure were fake, so I couldn't sell them on.

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 09:02

Yodel is the courier, it was a home delivery. Not sure if that makes an impact on what happens at the lockers? I’ve never had this issue before with Vinted. @maximist im glad you had your money back. Maybe it will be the same for me, hopefully.

It can happen if you send your parcel via say, the Post Office and they print the labels for you and stick them on themselves.

Your label has just ended up on someone else's parcel.

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 09:04

@margotrose I see okay, well hopefully I can get a refund and Vinted can sort this.

I had the exact same issue.
Wrong item sent, presumably wrong labels attached by courier.
Vinted asked for photos of label and of underneath label!? There was no other label.
A lot of back and forth, they said as I wouldn't send a photo of the label under the top label (and despite my insistence there was no other label!), they dismissed my case and I lost money.

Sartre · 06/11/2023 16:57

My guess is the seller has dropped off a handful of parcels and either they have accidentally mixed labels up or more likely, the member of staff has. Either way, it isn’t the product you ordered so you should get a refund and I’d imagine Vinted will give you one.

thecatsthecats · 06/11/2023 17:00

I had this, and I did actually manage to peel back the label. It's fucking ridiculous as a system, but it is possible. Especially if you wet the top label and kind of rub it off. Take lots of photos!

I did get my money back.

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 17:08

Thanks guys there is literally no label underneath it I managed to peel some back and there isn’t anything. I only ended up ripping it more the label 😩

@Xjejeloelelesl

As long as you have suspended the transaction by clicking on received, I have an issue, I have not received my item within 48hours of receiving the parcel it should hopefully be fine.

You can usually get the labels off by warming them with a hairdryer or a warm iron (put a cloth over the label before putting the iron on it)

I reckon at the shop the seller dropped it off at the staff member probably put the wrong label on.

Kangarude · 06/11/2023 17:53

There is a lost and found section on the Vinted forum where people can post what they have received and hopefully find the rightful owner

maximist · 06/11/2023 17:54

I did manage to get the top label off after a lot of messing, the one underneath was smaller, so initially I thought there wasnt one, but eventually I found it.

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 18:20

Deffo no other label underneath just pealed it off 😩

Mxflamingnoravera · 06/11/2023 20:50

I was a seller to whom this happened. It was an inpost locker where there is no label to print. My buyer got a dress, I sent boots.
After about three weeks we were both refunded.
I now make a point of printing my own labels. I will not use no label postage.
I hope you get your refund, you probably will, as long as the seller cooperates with their requests for pics, and a description of what happened. Stay in touch with your seller in a nice way, she's out of pocket too- she has lost her sale.
Good luck!

Xjejeloelelesl · 06/11/2023 21:01

I sent them photos of the single label again tonight and they sent me a message saying they have contacted the seller to resolve the issue
they’ve asked the seller for returns, to refund or to dispute it.
I sent them a message saying the seller didn’t send these items and the original item is lost it seems, no response.
Ill message the seller again to explain
