What's your worst website to use, which drives you mad? I'm trying to trying to do some Christmas shopping and I've given up with the boots website it's so terrible

As soon as I saw the title of this thread, I came on to say Boots glad to see other people are also in agreement.

Argos is bad as well, nothing is ever in stock and they have an awful habit of doing ghost transactions.

Next has WAY too much on it, I don't want to look at 3000 tshirts!

Bluevelvetsofa · 05/11/2023 17:27

Boots lets you get to almost the end, then won’t accept your email or log in. I’ve given up with them. They won’t last too much longer.

Dipsomaniax · 05/11/2023 17:31

Zara,

Boden used to be great but I have not used it in ten plus years.

I have a business and a website, I do not understand how businesses - especially on the scale of the two most often mentioned on this thread, get it so wrong.

I mean, they must know it hampers their orders, do they not care or is this their goal??

Boots is absolutely awful to navigate. I just don't use them at all.
Next has far too much stuff on it to ever successfully find something just through browsing even with filter.
Tk Maxx is awful.

The Reach media sites like The Mirror and the Manchester Evening News/Newcastle Chron etc are impossible to use due to the huge number of adverts. I give up after a few seconds as soon as the ads start loading and mean I can't read the actual newstory

Haha I clicked on this thread specifically to add any Reach Media website! Just appalling. Didn't one of their own board members (or chief exec?) slate their websites as a load of unusable shite?

Oh yes, Zara won't open for me on any device.

@MooseAndSquirrelLoveFlannel

I swore I would never use argos ever again when they charged me twice for a £500+ order. Once when the order went through online, then again when it was dispatched for delivery! Phoned customer services YOU CANNOT GET THROUGH TO A HUMAN!!!!!!!
One of those "speak and tell us your problem" things i tried for over an hour I was absolutely livid. Ended up driving half an hour out my way to nearest branch and the staff were pretty useless and basically said could take 5 working days to refund me! £500 isn't exactly a fiver it's a lot of money and it took me into an unarranged overdraft, luckily the refund came before my direct debits went out. Never ever again I don't care if they are cheaper on some items.

avocadotofu · 05/11/2023 17:38

I came on to say Boots too b

MissBridgetJones · 05/11/2023 17:38

Zara. I just don't bother.

Cocolapew · 05/11/2023 17:42

Boots and New Look.

DeathbyJedi · 05/11/2023 17:42

Boots!!

Floooooof · 05/11/2023 17:48

Next - very slow and seems to mainly show items that are out of stock when theres a sale on

The Range - it's impossible to scroll without clicking on something, I've completely given up on it

yarnwitch · 05/11/2023 17:50

Another vote for Boots. It's so dated and clunky, it's been the same for as far back as I can remember.
Also another vote for Next. Far too many items and brands on it now, and the clearance and sale items that you waste time looking at only to find they're out of stock when you try and add them to your basket.
B&Q is just awful, another one with too many brands, many of which never seem to be available or aren't stocked anywhere in store.

TerfTalking · 05/11/2023 17:52

Yes to Boots. We were given free employee flu jabs through Boots, but the pharmacy are on a completely different portal to where you might buy shampoo. I spent hours trying to find my flu jab order, even the on line staff didn’t mention it. I guess if you have regular prescriptions you may be more savvy, but as a one off for a jab, it was bloody infuriating.

Blackberrybrandy · 05/11/2023 17:52

I'll add my vote for Boots! I have to add advantage card offers in the app, shop on the website and then items vanish mid checkout or the the whole thing stalls and removes everything from the basket.

Superdrug is absolutely unusable as well now that they have started hosting marketplace sellers as well as their own items.

labmum567 · 05/11/2023 17:53

Boots and I wish it was good. I love shopping there

RedRiverShore4 · 05/11/2023 17:55

Another for Boots, but I'm not surprised by this as the shop is not that good, I can never find anything.
B&Q and Halfords as stuff always appears to be in stock but it's not

I usually shop on a large iMac desktop so most websites are a better experience than on a phone but Boots is bad even on that

HappierTimesAhead · 05/11/2023 17:56

TUI and The Body Shop
Agree with Boots as well

Alargeoneplease89 · 05/11/2023 17:56

The range ... adds random things to your basket

verdantverdure · 05/11/2023 17:56

Boots.

Prettypaisleyslippers · 05/11/2023 17:57

Boots app is way better than online. I pull my hair out with Odeon

cakesandmorecakeswithcake · 05/11/2023 17:58

NEXT is just terrible on the mobile site/app

RedRiverShore4 · 05/11/2023 17:59

I used the Next app once as they kindly gave me £10 for using it and then I deleted it.

TerfTalking · 05/11/2023 17:59

I thought HMRC deserved a kind of mention, in that if you can find what you want and it meets your requirements it is bloody brilliant and easy to use.

however only half of what you ever need is on there, and if you raise a query and tell them what you need and ask for them to write to you, they just close the enquiry and you never hear from them again, or you get a random new tax code which doesn’t relate to your enquiry.

impossible to get through and speak to a useless advisor either, even if proactively telling them you think you might owe money. I stick the money in premium bonds now in case they come back and ask for it, then make a note of their closed enquiry number if they ever come back being arsey.

AllAboutMargot · 05/11/2023 18:01

NS&I for premium bonds. No exaggeration, I've spent hours trying to buy premium bonds for my grandson. Randomly, a message pops up "you have been logged out because you used the back button" and you have to start over again. Happened about twenty times.
