Harry Potter for adult

Harrypotter99 · 04/11/2023 12:21

I'm looking for help with Harry Potter gifts that could be more aimed at an adult? Ds is 21 and said he wants Harry putter stuff for Xmas but I don't know what to get him. I was thinking maybe things for his home. But hard to find ?

My adult dd wanted friends stuff that's easy to find. But Harry Potter seems harder.

We got our DS a lovely HP chess set

fairislecable · 04/11/2023 12:26

I bought a Lego HP owl for my 10 year old grandson. The parents said it was beautiful when finished but tricky to do.

Vouchers for studio visit.

Bought Harry Potter Cluedo for a niece of a similar age - I think you can get other HP themed versions of big brand games too

I saw this book in WH Smith’s the other day, considering getting it for my adult sister potter fan

What's his house? Get him a scarf and hat set in his house colours.

Get him Hogwarts Legacy

Well does he like Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Slytherin or Ravenckaw? A lot of HP stuff is house related

PinkDeer · 04/11/2023 13:08

A lot of Harry Potter Fans get sorted into a school house ( Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Slytherin) Your son may have a house that he identifies with.

Other than Harry Potter theme, what does, he want? What Hogwarts House is he in?

I've got Hufflepuff scarf, bag, cushion, notepads, pens.
General Harry Potter Lego, bedding, candles, jewellery, notepads, pens.

We've got Harry Potter cluedo, Scrabble, trivial pursuit.
The board game Battle for Hogwarts is brilliant, but they are only any good if he has someone to play with.

If he's a gamer then Hogwarts Legacy is amazing.

There's a variety of book sets. I've got the original covers, some of the Hufflepuff House editions and I'm planning to get the illustrated editions and the MinaLima ones.

DC and I between us also have blankets, t-shirts, hoodies, socks, slippers, pjs.

Fudgeandcaramel · 04/11/2023 13:27

The adult Lego is amazing. They have the bank and diagon alley. Quite expensive though.

No I know nothing at all.

But I think he just likes Harry Potter in general. I dont think he would mind what I get. I was just hoping to find things for his home as in where he lives. Not the Harry Potter House thing

What is your budget?

easylikeasundaymorn · 04/11/2023 13:55

A lot of harry potter merch is themed by hogwarts house though that's why people are asking.
If he's into it he will definitely have a preference.

I'm surprised you don't think there's much stuff around, I honestly can't think of a franchise that has more themed crap absolutely everywhere, including for adults

there's loads of hp stuff in primark, including house (as in for a real house) stuff
but does he want nice stuff like some of the ideas above (which can be really expensive but are appropriate for adults and stuff you'd actually like in your house), or would he be happy with like a cushion in the shape of an owl?

dontgobaconmyheart · 04/11/2023 13:57

Tickets to or vouchers for to the UK studio tour - it's brilliant. The studio tour also has an online shop that may be worth a browse.

Copies if the Minalima special edition books - link to Book 1 but there are a few out, they make excellent display pieces and are definitely aimed at adults as the details inside are quite fiddly and fine.

Perhaps have a look here https://minalima.com/shop-wizarding-world/ - these are the company that made a lot of the paper props from the original films and now produce homewares such as prints, notebooks and reproductions of the books. I ordered a print for my sister for Christmas last year and she was thrilled with it. They sell gift vouchers so if you're unsure I also think that would be a lovely gift.

The Hogwarts Legacy PS5 or Switch game if he has either of those consoles at home.

It's such a popular franchise that I do think general merchandise is available pretty much anywhere if you do a google search or look on Amazon - mugs, glasses, pyjamas etc are ten a penny if you are in need of little gifts.

My son (17) collects the Bloomsbury illustrated books which are about £20 each - first five published plus the almanac previously suggested.

Le Cruset have a lovely Harry Potter range if he's a keen cook? Obviously quite expensive!

ranoutofquinoaandprosecco · 04/11/2023 14:14

The Almanac is the newest book. If he hasn't been on the Warner Brothers tour how about tickets to that?

MoonlightMuse · 04/11/2023 14:20

What about some wall art?

What does he like/want, except for Harry Potter? No point in getting him a scarf in Hogwarts-style if he never wears scarves, etc.

T-shirt with a related print, maybe?

cornflower21 · 04/11/2023 14:25

You can get him HP bedding?
Or hoodie.

Does he have the books?
