I never knew there was such a thing!

It actually makes me feel sick. People wasting so much money and buying so much stuff when the world is dying and children don't have clean water.

millerpie · 02/11/2023 23:53

No but I’d love one! I’d also love to be a professional gift wrapper…not sure it’s a thing.

Do you think if people stopped wrapping gifts the world would be a better place?

EatAllDay · 02/11/2023 23:56

years ago I read about a celebrity having a wrapping room and I’ve dreamt about it ever since. I’d LOVE one … not gonna happen.

LizzyLongbow · 02/11/2023 23:59

I do! It doubles as a spare room but wrapping paper and scissors stay put on a coffee table. It even has a sea view.

No because I'm not Candy Spelling. Tamara Ecclestone bought her house, I wonder if she kept the wrapping room?

No. I'm shit at wrapping anyway so usually just do a half arsed job of it on my living room floor.

Howyoualldoworkme · 03/11/2023 00:16

Niles in Frasier had a gift wrapping room 😊

declutteringmymind · 03/11/2023 00:19

If I had a wrapping room it would be for my returns!

Is your DH working for Niles Crane?

That was my first thought. Niles Crane in the 1990s.

Saggypants · 03/11/2023 00:24

I do have a room which has become the 'everything room' - library, study, ironing, formal dining, exercise, spare bedroom at a pinch.

The wrapping things are stored in there so between now and Christmas I'll be referring to it as the Wrapping Room just to sound like a posh wanker Grin

Coshofliving · 03/11/2023 00:27

What do you all do with those bits where you cut a strip off the roll but need it to be shorter for the particular gift so then you cut a bit off the top of the strip? Do you tuck it back in the roll and gradually tuck more and more stray bits inside the roll and never use them, or do you wait and do a series of Frankenwraps with them? Or do you just throw them away straight off?

I don't always cut a full width strip off the roll - just cut the shape and size that I need for that gift.

Coshofliving · 03/11/2023 00:35

I used to do that but then found the flappy bit was the wrong size for what I wanted to wrap next.

I have problems with wrapping, clearly. I need a room.

spookehtooth · 03/11/2023 00:42

Ain't that just a posh word for a bedroom, wrapping yourself in the duvet?

Charlize43 · 03/11/2023 00:48

Is it like a sex thing?

I'm 57 so I'm a bit out of touch with what young people get up to these days. All these people going on about their gender fluids, sound really messy.

KeepJoggingOn · 03/11/2023 00:52

I recently read a book "For better For Worse", (very good) and main character had her own wrapping room. I had never heard of it before.

AllWeWantToDo · 03/11/2023 01:11

Does a desk and office chair under the stairs count?

Now I've seen what one looks like, I want one 😂

I've always dreamt of having a study with all my crafts in it

I’d like a rapping room, every time you go in Run DMC is playing. Sadly I don’t have one. I’d like that, but that’s the way it is.

Grin Brilliant.

We don't have a wrapping room but we possibly have what a PP described as a gifting closet.

However it's disguised as a PAX wardrobe with one shelf dedicated to all the rolls of wrapping paper I couldn't resist buying when they were reduced after Christmas, a few old jiffy bags and mailing sacks saved from online deliveries to be used for Vinted sales.

The above is in the room that also serves as my home office and an occasional kitten nursery and playroom (we foster for a rescue charity).

Tilllly · 03/11/2023 02:47

I don't but DH does

It's called the loft and he uses it on Cmas eve

ithinkthatmaybeimdreaming · 03/11/2023 03:45

No I don't. There really wouldn't be much point for the four or five gifts I wrap in a year. Grin

Mind you, I probably could do with one for all the online shopping returns!

I have the exact same gifting closet of contents in my home office, in the room for kitten fostering 😀

gettingolderbutcooler · 03/11/2023 05:20

Yes, it's in the west wing and the servants open it to air it every December.

I thought I was doing well as I have a dedicated grocery bag with several rolls of wrapping paper, ribbon and a bunch of generic cards...

😂
I see your bag and raise you a drawer 😁
