What’s worth getting? Especially as part of a general shop

Mouthwash
Shower gel
Toothpaste
Veg ( not the on offer stuff)
Chicken
Noodles
Sauces
Perfume dupes
Candles
Butter
Anything that takes my fancy from the middle aisle

The Essentials double pack of bacon is fantastic, proper thick slices like you’d get on a butcher’s counter. The Animus Douro is a very easy drinking wine.

Try everything I do my main shop there but I get salad , meat and bread from m and s can’t beat that cat food fussy buggers need a rotation of wet food so hunt all sorts.

b and m for toiletries and washing powder etc
also nip in lidl as I like their cold meats and yoghurt everyone buys different stuff so I would say try bit here and there

It's great for ham. Cheap for nuts and dried fruit. I also go for tinned fish. The Greek yoghurt is amazing. The fresh food is decent. Actually it's all pretty good, I just have to travel so don't go regularly. Bewarethe middle isles though, you will go in for sultanas and come out with a wetsuit and a circular saw.

Agree about the middle aisle 😁

Things I regularly buy

large pack of bacon, agree with previous poster about that
greek yoghurt
extra strong cheddar
parmesan
spaghetti
boil in the bag rice
Beetroot packs are bigger than most shops
salted peanuts
large jars of pickled beets, also red cabbage but not often in stock
all oils, especially extra virgin olive
frozen salmon fillets & breaded haddock
steak cut chips
marmalade, nicer than branded
tonic
gins
Vinho Verde
plus lots of the basics like butter, crackers, milk etc
just a personal thing but I don’t like their bread or paper products like toilet roll, tissues or cottage cheese. Or their single cream which is much thinner than Asda’s where I usually do a top up as unfortunately there are some things I can’t guarantee to get in Aldi
A huge thing for me is how quick it all is, you an be round & out so quickly as the checkout staff are so efficient.

Greek yoghurt
big buckets of 100% peanut butter which I decant into a jar for daily use
lightly dusted basa fillet (frozen)
Parmesan
tinned fish
lamb shanks in red wine sauce - I think, just reminds me I haven’t had that for a while!

not a big fan of the fruit and veg or the bread, and it’s sometimes hit and miss what other stuff they have in there but usually good for staples - butter, flour, porridge oats and so on.

My usuals are cooked chicken strips, grated cheese, Gouda, their ham selection is good (Torchon is pretty good), their Jaffa cakes, jars of olives, capers and sun dried tomatoes.
They do a decent steak pie in the freezer section, runs out quite quick.
Cambala Chenin Blanc and Pierre Jaurant Sauvignon Blanc.
Their part baked bread is very good too.
I don’t mind the veggies, but really examine them to see how long they’d last.
