We're having fajitas. With the curtains shut.

Dc are all way past Halloween ages, tho 19yo dd2 had a party at the weekend.

I am restricted with my mobility and just can't keep going to the door, so as dd2 and dh are working I'm putting out the lights and we'll have Mexican for dinner!

Lasagna, salad & garlic bread, I'd rather an egg & bacon sandwich though but got friends round

minipie · 30/10/2023 23:01

Errr we’ll be having something very quick as have to get homework done, into costume and out for trick or treating. Hadn’t intended anything themed but my chicken curry is pretty scary.

People do a special Halloween dinner...? <misses point of thread>
<wanders off scratching head>

To be fair, my dcs are 17 and 14 so all we might do is watch a scary film, but even in the trick or treating years I don't remember doing anything special.

We did when I was a child in the 80s /90s. We didn't trick or treat but did have friends round and dressed up and had a Halloween themed meal.

Lemonade with green colouring

Sausages (fingers) and ketchup (blood).... Trying to remember what else!

Often I just make the children make a spooky menu based on whatever we have in food wise! They have to use their imaginations Grin

Special macaroni cheese bake with pesto, peas and crispy bacon. Extra mozzarella on the top. At least 1 million calories, very nice too.

Why is everyone having hot dogs?

Because as everyone knows Halloween abd Bonfire Night =hotdogs!

DrCoconut · 30/10/2023 23:40

We do hotdogs for bonfire night. And pumpkin soup and Parkin. We don't do Halloween at all so it will just be a normal meal.

Maddy70 · 30/10/2023 23:44

We are having a board games night at a friend's so doing a pot luck

mondaytosunday · 30/10/2023 23:55

My kids are too old now but chilli or steak and chips - undecided as of now!

Catsmere · 31/10/2023 07:35

Mum's having a ham steak which has proven to be tough and rather awful. I had Weetbix.

Monkeybutt1 · 31/10/2023 07:47

Football training night here so no trick or treating but DS11 has declared himself too old anyway. Jacket potato and cheese when we get home.

itsgettingweird · 31/10/2023 08:04

What's a Halloween dinner?

When ds was younger and we went trick or treating with friends I'd just out hotdogs in the slow cooker before going out or pizza in the overnight when we got back.

Nothing amazing because they were stuffed on sweets and chocolate 🤣

coxesorangepippin · 01/11/2023 02:09

Thanks all for the ideas and pics 😀

We ended up having shepherds pie - was delicious
