I have a million quite a few, & think I should maybe finish some before starting anything else 🙈

I have (in no particular order)

Crochet alien (will be finished tonight)
Crochet green balloon dog (for Eras tour next year)
Crochet christmas village
Crochet big blanket for me
Cross stitch Christmas card for my dad
Beaded tassles for Midnights lavender jacket (for Eras tour)
Painted mini Adele (for dd2's birthday cake in December)

I also have a list I'm working through for work but not urgently needed so just as I get to them, 3 pairs of curtains to alter, a skirt to take in & one to replace the zip in, possibly peg doll Taylor Swifts for dd1's birthday in January.

I'll save you the details of my food related want to make list, and Christmas want to makes 🤣

Sooo...do you all flit from project to project? Or are you sensible and finish one thing at a time? 🤔

Omg love this thread! I have 3, a glass vase I'm painting with flowers for a gift, easy and will be done by Tuesday as I'm off then, a painting for a friend's 30th which will take forever but I love it and a large sharing platter I've made at pottery just needs a paint and to go in the kiln when I feel inspired:) have you seen crochet companions if you like crocheting? They're the most handy tool ever! On tik tok :)

YeOldeGreyhound · 29/10/2023 20:22

Too many to list. I do try and keep individual projects in their own bags. It is getting crazy now though, and I am at the point that I will just start binning some unfinished things.
My craft hobbies are many and varied, so I have a lot of unfinished things.

NonMiDispiace · 29/10/2023 20:24

I’m scared to count, I have a dreadful attention span 😵‍💫….:
Three blankets started
Two pairs of socks
3 shawls
two baby’s cardigans….and that’s without looking!
🤷🏼‍♀️

I've got 3 I'm actively working on- 2 crochet blankets and a knitted scarf.
I've got a cardigan that needs sleeves, I haven't touched it in months. I can't remember which size of needles I used.
And I am have yarn all ready to start a jumper but I'm determined to finish the scarf first.
Then I have some odd bits of soft toy that wouldn't take long to finish off.
And some bags I've sewed that need poppers attaching.
That's quite a small list for me actually, I'm quite proud of it.

ChainBastard · 29/10/2023 20:25

Only two that I'm actively working on. A cross stitch and a Christmas bauble.
I've got another two cross stitches started and waiting in the wings but...this is a safe space, right? <Whispers> I don't think they'll ever get finished.

Jellycatspyjamas · 29/10/2023 20:26

I have way too many cross stitch projects, I’m teaching myself to knit so there’s various small projects on the go there and a couple of sewing projects. I do eventually finish things, it just takes a while.

Redshoeblueshoe · 29/10/2023 20:33

I've got a pair of glove which I just need to embroider it. A cardigan that I haven't touched for ages, and I think it only needs sewing together. And I have at least 2 embroideries floating about. I also want to embroider some Christmas cards, so I better get moving fast. Lovely thread

Daffyyellow · 29/10/2023 20:35

A rag rug, long stitch tapestry picture and a Bargello, all started over 20 years ago.
A crochet shawl, half finished, started in 2012 ish.
A mountain of fabric with many plans but unstarted.
3 sets of advent stockings, started 3 years ago . . .
A cardigan with only 1 piece cut out, then I got Covid, in January!
A long sleeved T-shirt that only needs the neckband attached.
A patchwork pinafore, pieces cut but none sewn.
At least 3 patterns that have been printed and need sticking together.
Do I need to go on?!

HamstersAreMyLife · 29/10/2023 20:39

I'm too ashamed to confess 😫

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 29/10/2023 20:39

Things that I need to finish
A quilt that needs the quilting finished and binding done
A quilt that needs the binding done
A quilt that is finished piecing but I can't decide whether to put borders on it
A quilt that is about a third pieced
A foundation paper pieced wall hanging that I have just started
A summer dress that needs to be altered at the shoulders to fit better
A summer dress that I'm (very slowly) adding beads to

Things waiting to be started
Two winter dresses, have the pattern and the fabric but not the motivation
One summer dress, again have the pattern and the fabric
A crochet shrug to go with the summer dress

Plus absolutely TONS of projects sitting in bags and boxes that I probably won't get back to.

Redbrook · 29/10/2023 20:41

I have :
A crochet blanket which just needs the ends (many) sewing in
A load of crochet hexagons which will eventually become a bed runner - or I might wrap parcels of 6 with ribbon and give them away at Christmas as face scrub thingys.
A cross stitch of New York which has been on the go for 10 years (I will eventually finish it)
A baby blanket - must be finished for March next year.
A knitted dog awaiting stuffing.
I have about 200 fat quarters waiting for me to think of a use.
Pair of socks - need finishing for Christmas
And I’ve just bought the yarn for a knitted fair isle jumper.
I also have the kits 2 very complicated wrap things (I’ll never make these, but I couldn’t resist the beautifully packaged yarn).

I live far too close to a very good wool shop.

Jorvik1978 · 29/10/2023 20:47

This makes me feel so much better! I have (in no particular order):

  1. A painting
  2. Knitting:
  3. a pair of socks
  4. a pair of gloves
  5. a blanket
  6. three jumpers
  7. A book nook of Diagon Alley that has a layer of dust on it now....
  8. A leather handbag (to be fair, I can't do anymore until the tools I've ordered turn up)

I'm aiming to get all of these complete by the end of the year before I start something new (hollow laugh.......)

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 29/10/2023 20:55

A knitted Nativity set, about half done
A ‘worry eating’ big fat teddy (knitted) just started, about my 6th - I make them for a charity which always needs more.

And a big rainbow blanket, which I haven’t touched for months.

lucysmam · 29/10/2023 21:01

@SwiftieGrainger Beegu is finished so I'll take a look now.

I'm so glad to see that I'm not the only one with a number of projects on the go at once. It stops me getting bored, although the girls often look at me like 🤔🙄 combined when I spot something else I'd like to do!

I need to decide what to do next now - I think maybe assemble the pieces of my crochet village one afternoon, and the balloon dog on an evening.

T-shirt and pants that need custom SVG's cutting and putting on
Pokeball mimic that needs painting and putting together
earrings that need fixings attached x 3
Audrey 2 sculpture that needs a lot of work.
Last 2 days on Inktober.
Custom rat earrings - clay needs baking and painting.

BloodandGlitter · 29/10/2023 21:04

Oh a dress that needs rehemming because I left it too close to the rats cage ( a year ago)

HollieHobbie · 29/10/2023 21:12

Knitted blanket (squares are accumulating)
hanging cupboard organiser (sewn)
fused glass suncatchers (awaiting drill holes)
embroidered picture (awaiting motivation)
crochet jacket (awaiting starting)
draught excluder cat (awaiting facial details)
beanbag chicken (awaiting facial details)
Dolls house renovation (awaiting Grand Designs input 🤣)

I'm good at starting projects. 🙄

lucysmam · 29/10/2023 21:15

Ooh, I've just remembered, I have the pattern & fabric for a top I wanted to make during covid. I got as far as washing and ironing the fabric, and made the belt 🤔

OP posts:
AllProperTeaIsTheft · 29/10/2023 21:25

Knitting:
Bottle green Aran jumper for dd
Cable hat for MIL
Sleeve scarf / wrap thingy for me
Cushion cover made from yarn I spun

Crochet
An intermittently-added-to bunch of granny squares which I'm supposedly making into a blanket

Cannas · 29/10/2023 21:30

Oh all these unfinished projects would make me panic. I sew and crochet and I very rarely have more than one of each project on the go.
My sewing is a bag. I normally make quilts but am having a break and making a bag.
Crochet I have broken my own rule and got two things on the go. A poncho which needs another month's work. I've put it to one side to make a shawl for a present. I'm quite slow so this will take about 6 weeks. Then I'll finish my poncho.
I start to plan my next once I'm about 3 weeks away from finishing the current one.

lucysmam · 29/10/2023 21:36

That's very restrained @Cannas ! I always think I should just have one or two on the go, but then something else pulls me in to start it...

Daffyyellow · 29/10/2023 21:39

Oh, just remembered the quilt for my daughter, started when she was 5, she’s nearly 14 now!

Catsmere · 29/10/2023 22:20

Let's see - all mine are knitting.

On the go, an elaborate cable cardigan I just started and a mosaic pattern jumper I'm remaking after frogging (but have got seriously bored with that, hence starting the cardigan - it'll be useful to being out when I want to do something simple for a change).

In hibernation, a fisherman's rib jumper (nice yarn, I'm just bored with the rib and dubious about the neck design - might frog it) and a 5ply sideways cable jumper I'll probably never take up again because the wool is crepe and fine needles hurt my hands. So four in total.

upinaballoon · 29/10/2023 23:18

843 pieces of unused fabric
781 half-started pieces of clothing
Lies, actually, but there are very many of these two things, which point to some worrying syndrome, not to mention guilt that when I've 'gone' THEY will find out all my sins.

There is a matinee coat started for a baby who is now 37. I found it the other day and had a good look at it. I have been hung up with a direction to pick up 12 stitches, then 66, then 12. I have eventually realised that I've already done that bit and sewing up is all that's needed. This sweet little item might be finished by Christmas and taken to a charity shop.

I do get some things finished, though - quite a lot over the years.

RosaGallica · 29/10/2023 23:26

I had sensibly decided to try really hard to get some old ones finished and out of the way. Past tense. I thought of a way to make a Halloween deco (ghost). Which has sparked some more amigurumi type thoughts. So now I have two new little bits to add to my 4 big long term crochet, sewing and macrame things on the go and I had wanted to do some more basket making, which is still new to me. I also have several little doll clothes for my dd’s large number of dolls hanging around, some of which are attempts to get her interested which fizzled out. Thankfully no one needed new cardigans for winter this year!
