Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day, in my kitchen spot. I'm watching the robin flit about the garden. No-one else is up yet, so it's lovely and quiet. Dd2 got up to watch someone's stream of Adele from Vegas so I don't expect to see her for quite a while!

There are a few pots to wash, a load of washing to be done, and dd2's school shirts to iron. Other than that, I plan to have a very moochy day as it's my first day back at work tomorrow.

Dd1 wants to bake cinmamon rolls so we'll start those soon-ish, and I really need to finish the crochet Beegu I've been making for display. She's still in pieces at the moment, and only has one ear 🙈

I'll make sure dd2's ready for back to school too, and has done any homework that was set.

Anything else I do will probably be craft related, once I have a look and decide which I should finish first out of the many projects on the go.

We're having roast chicken for tea, in giant yorkshires, with cauli cheese I think. & preparing a stew to go in the slow cooker for tomorrow evening 😋

Tonight will be self-care Sunday, an idea pinched from another MN-er! Full scrubby shower, shave the bits that need it, face mask, loads of moisturiser, & maybe file and paint my nails. Followed by reading the intro to Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles 😊

What about all of you? 🙂

Good morning! Its horrible here today (Scotland) I feel like it's rained for weeks!

I'm having a lazy day today as last week at work was so busy and stressful all while battling with a bad back. Also helped my husband study for exams so was a full on week. I'm going to have a bath and read my book. Can't decided if I want a salt bath or an exfoliating bath. I've learnt you can't do both. The mitt just glides over my skin if I've had a bath with anything in it. Ds wants a lazy day he will probably play his xbox and video call his friends. Dh was going to have a look at the car as its making a noise but not in that weather.

Roast chicken, mash, veg and Yorkshire puddings for tea 😋

Beezknees · 29/10/2023 09:38

Absolutely nothing. Sitting and watching TV all day and drinking prosecco. Bliss.

princessspotify · 29/10/2023 09:40

Morning. I'm decluttering DS2 bedroom. Depending on how long that takes i may make a start on the hallway cupboard.
DH is doing a tip run shortly and then taking both kids of a haircut.
Will probably do an easy tea of sausage, mash and veg.

OldTinHat · 29/10/2023 09:44

Good morning all and good luck tomorrow @lucysmam!

Barely got home from the murder mystery meal last night due to flooding. It was pretty scary. It's still raining now. I've got to go out in an hour to pick up an auction win but am dreading it because I've got to go through floods to get there.

I hope you all manage to stay dry today!

icanlovemebetter · 29/10/2023 09:46

DH watching cricket. DS (2YO) and I are playing with his toys. I've already put in some laundry.
Chicken curry for dinner that DH will cook after the Manchester derby football! So TV will remain switched on all day.

TheChosenTwo · 29/10/2023 09:50

Dh and Ds are downstairs watching some sport. DD2 has gone to work. Im still lying in bed.
Going to take ds swimming this morning and probably have lunch out.
I’m a bit achy after a lot of activity this week so planning an Epsom bath later on while dh is cooking the roast.
We’ll light the fire early evening.
Sundays are my favourite!

Crunchymum · 29/10/2023 09:57

Another day of absolutely nothing (very rare to have two days in a row of no plans although we did travel home yesterday morning so technically it wasn't a day of rest) but we've just had a week away and did loads of walks and outdoor stuff so I'm not feeling too guilty.

Need to grab supplies so I'll pop to the shops when they open and let the little one have a run around the park for an hour.

Then it's the usual Sunday - homework, ironing uniform, baths, hair (girls both have long curly hair so it's chores in itself!) and they've requested Goosebumps and popcorn later.

I'm going to do some lamb neck fillet, minted new potatoes and green veg for dinner. Kids aren't keen on lamb so I've got a chicken to roast and they can have the leftovers in sandwiches for packed lunch for a few days.

Rowgtfc72 · 29/10/2023 09:59

Washer on. Had two cuppas and my fake maccies.
Walked the dog. Out again at 11 for meet up of local sausage dogs and owners, dogs are dressing up.
Going to try out my new cordless shark hoover later. Soooo exciting!

daffodilandtulip · 29/10/2023 10:03

Morning! I'm still struggling with exhaustion from all the new term changes, even though we're halfway through the term! Teen DC are staying with family this week ... the second week in their entire lives and the second time in their entire lives that I haven't had them attached to my side.

So I am doing as little as possible until they are back on Friday, to give me the strength to get to Christmas and hopefully things at work will have settled down and I'll have a week off!!

Had a takeaway last night so leftovers today, I've brought a couple of nice ready meals and I might get a pizza later in the week. Totally naughty and totally unhealthy but I really don't care. I can't tell you how sick I am of cooking for people 🤣

Started a new book yesterday and plan to finish that in the bath later. Planet Earth, strictly and a couple of dramas later. All in blissful silence!

shardash · 29/10/2023 10:04

Been to a car boot sale and bought a massive box full of thousands of postage stamps for a tenner. Bumped into an old friend and had a chat. Now back home and just finished a coffee and a bacon sandwich. Next on the list is some laundry and some of the dreaded life admin/paperwork (which I loathe, but has to be done).

The sun is out, so I might do a spot of gardening later if I can motivate myself.

DH has gone to collect some stuff for his hobby event this afternoon, and we've got family coming for dinner this evening.

JL690 · 29/10/2023 10:07

Mostly entertaining the little one today. It's cold and raining so probably an indoors day. Little one's dad is coming over to help put.

mondaytosunday · 29/10/2023 10:42

Been down to feed cats and push the dogs out the back door put the dishwasher on but retreated back to bed. Just a light drizzle. I need to dye my hair but I'm inert with two dogs snd a cat in the bed with me.
My energetic son has sent me a lovely pic of the view from his hike up the hills where he lives - he is Mr Energiser Bunny and has to get in several hours of physical activity a day. Looked a bit damp! Hard to believe we are genetically related he is go go go all the time.
Oh I can hear the rain has started up for real now.
My teenage daughter will not appear til much later - she doesn't eat til dinner and has work to do so may be awake (not yet) but stay in her room. Her energy levels are like mine!
I'll wait for a break in the weather take the dogs out. Nothing else planned - possibly carve our pumpkins? Sundays are lazy days!

Silkiefloof · 29/10/2023 10:44

Swimming, Sunday roast, decluttering, playing with Floof.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 29/10/2023 10:46

Welsh hanner tymor (half term) , so sunning myself in Mallorca this week

Silkiefloof · 29/10/2023 10:48

That sounds lovely LadyMonica

RachelSTG · 29/10/2023 10:49

I've been to Aldi to get nice snack things; olives, hummus, crackers, fruit, wasabi rice crackers and crisps. Stopped at Marks and Spencer's for a coffee and sausage ciabatta. I will go home soon and put a load of washing on. Husband cooking a stew tonight and we will have broccoli, cauliflower and cabbage with it and some Yorkshire puddings. I had planned to go for a long dog walk but we have heavy rain here so going to stay home once I get in.

Justonedayatatime11 · 29/10/2023 10:51

Very very little. Have been struggling with some horrible virus type thing for the past month or so now and it's knocked me for six. So am curled up on the sofa with a latte, my kindle and the kittens looking at Christmas lights for outside and wondering how I can put a Christmas tree up with 5 furry menaces... . DH is making lasagne for tea and hopefully some GF shortbread.
Good luck back at work @lucysmam, I hope it all goes well for you

Decafflatteplease · 29/10/2023 11:21

Morning @lucysmam and best wishes for back to work tomorrow!

I've already done my self care Sunday routine 🙂 I had a lovely morning bath and DH brought me tea ☺️

It's a beautiful morning here sunny but cold with a breeze I've just got a load of towels on the line, simple pleasures!

This afternoon we are off out for some fresh air and a walk to a local nature reserve it's a favourite of ours always so peaceful.

Not sure what's for dinner yet, thinking garlic chicken pasta, cosy and comforting.

Have a lovely Sunday all!

Morning, decorating before a builder arrives to fit something on a wall next week. I hate decorating and this space is really awkward so instead of being able to stand on my step ladders in having to balance precariously on weird bits of furniture where the ladders won’t fit, I’m never decorating again 🤯.

newyorkinthefall · 29/10/2023 11:23

I used the extra hour this morning wisely and stayed in bed for a long lie (7.30am!!) I had planned to go to the local farmers market this but it’s not stopped raining. Just nipping out to buy baguettes for lunch then hopefully I'll get to read some of my book before work. I’ve just started reading ‘The Silent Patient’ I’ve heard great things about it so excited to get stuck in.

Good luck tomorrow @lucysmam Lucysmam I’m sure you’ll smash it!

MsSquiz · 29/10/2023 11:25

I'm sitting in a cafe in the very wet north east, waiting for my sky dive to go ahead...

gingercat02 · 29/10/2023 11:29

It's grim in the North of Scotland today, so I don't imagine we will be up to much. Visit to MiL in the afternoon, out for dinner, and then the Mexican F1.
Hope the back to work goes well, @Lucysmam

lucysmam · 29/10/2023 11:46

@Justonedayatatime11 have you still not advertised the kittens!? 🤣 I think you're too attached to do it now!

Thanks for the well wishes - my clothes are out & ready, and my ID is in my bag.

So much for starting cinnamon buns early...we've just had cheese on toast & now about to start them.

@lucysmam, that would be a no Wink let's face it, they're not going anywhere!

Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?
hattie43 · 29/10/2023 11:52

It's really heavy rain here , wanted to
do a long dog walk but we'd all hate it in torrential rain . Have just had a nice long shower and am off to have a pub roast with a friend . Will come back and binge Netflix probably, no getting out in this weather .
