Boring but which rug?

My living room and the rug choices...

Hard to see but there's lots of green, orange, reds, some pink in the room

Has your cat died!? What kind of a question is that? 🤨

Because cats ( some) like to run up the curtains, and if they don’t touch the floor, it’s harder for them to get started.

OP, I think I would either take the curtains up, or put a border on them…..

O, and B for me….

Ihonestlydontgetit · 28/10/2023 14:25

B is first choice. A is second.

I also liked A and E for that room, but A is too green and E will be too dark.
I winced at the curtain length!
Take them up to just below the sill or put a border on them. I'd go for a deep border, something really opulent.

BoothsChristmasBook · 28/10/2023 14:58

E and different curtains

HuggyRuggy · 28/10/2023 14:58

Sorry but I love the curtains and the length doesn't bother me, I like them 😬

Ok. None of those rugs then 😅

HuggyRuggy · 28/10/2023 15:15

Respectfully, I've just spend over £100 on the curtains. I'm not going to change them because a few Internet strangers that are never going to set foot in my home don't like them, especially when I love them.
I just asked about the rugs :)

I love the curtains too! c, d or e on the rugs for me

Thankyou. On the other side of the room my cushions, lampshade and artwork match the curtains so they do tie in a lot more than you can see on this photo.

I think maybe A if the choice is only between those 5 rugs.

Delatron · 28/10/2023 15:26

I think A or B. Personally like B.

I don’t think the pinks in E would work with the orange curtains so better to have a contrast with blue or green.

Theokaycokey · 28/10/2023 15:30

D or E

They're a machine washable one, which I need with my dogs.

Btw, I love the curtains and their length! But I do think that you could find a better rug out there. They're just not quite right.

ElliePhant28 · 28/10/2023 15:33

B or D for me. I prefer the brighter colours.

I was looking at them because they're machine washable and cheap. I have dogs and it's just not worth getting anything more expensive as they get ruined.

I like E best as a pattern. Not sure about the colours. The other rugs are too simple in pattern to me. Recently been buying rugs for my house and love ruggable especially the William morris patterns. Might be worth a look as there is quite the variation in your options.

I think that maybe only works in Scotland, it's a play on things being at half mast (like flags when there has been a bereavement) ... So we would say it to someone whose trousers are too short for example.

BoothsChristmasBook · 28/10/2023 15:48

I understood the "has your cat died" reference. We say it in Yorkshire too if someone's pants are too short 😆

This rug has all your colours in OP

C or D
Agree with the comments about the curtain length, I'd change those (sorry OP).
