Good Morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just up after a looong lie in...typical in the few weeks before I go back to work on Monday I'd start sleeping in 🙄 I'm just drinking my cuppa & about to get some breakfast (Lidl cinnamon squares cereal to try them).

The washers on so I can hang the washing before we go out, and last night's pots are staring at me from the sink but can wait until later on.

We're off into town to pick up a few bits, followed by a trip to Starbucks, at dd1's request, to try something or other she wants off their Halloween menu. And then we're off for a wander round The Range. Don't need anything from there (unless they sell a bath pillow!) but can guarantee we'll end up down the Christmas aisle & come out with something sparkly!

Later on, I need to carry on crocheting something for work on Monday. Dd1 should carry on with her homework that's mostly done now, and I'll get dd2 to check she has nothing else she's forgotten about.

No idea what's for tea yet, I'll look before we head out.

Morning @lucysmam . I'm never first on these threads. Everyone must be having a lazy (or v busy day)
I'm still in bed, which is rare.
Start of HT here, so we are in Scotland at DH brothers until Monday. Mainly here to visit them and MiL, who is in a care home.
Bit of dog walking, lots of eating, and a few glasses of wine.
We all get on really well and don't see each other very often, so it's nice to have a good catch-up.
Your day sounds lovely. I love a mooch in the shops.

Morning! I've done a bit of cleaning and need to go food shopping. Dh is working and ds2 has gone to stay with ds1 at uni. I've got a baby cardigan to finish knitting and then going to a friend's for drinks tonight.

so far, failing to get out of bed...
It's my weekend off childcare & household duties. I am going to work some, go for a run. Plan a big outing tomorrow. Clean a bicycle.

Well I've breakfasted so am about to go to the shop shortly.

Then put the radio on and tackle my bedroom.

Morning Lucysmam & everyone! I work at The Range & our Christmas stuff is amazing! We’re selling loads already. In January I got several bags of baubles as they were 75% off! Hope you do come out with something sparkly lucysmam!
I managed to sleep in until nearly 8, which is really unusual, especially as DD14 has her girlfriend staying & they’re not exactly quiet! Haven’t had brekkie yet as needed a few bits from Tesco Express. Sitting at the kitchen table, thinking that I really need to bleach the surfaces. The dishwasher needs unloading & loading too. Also I need to check if there’s enough dirty washing for a load. DD & girlfriend are being collected at lunchtime to go up to the girlfriend’s for a couple of nights ( they’re going to a concert tomorrow with the girlfriend’s Mum). I need to do a bigger shop for the week later & have to pop into work to talk to my Manager about some of my shifts. DH finishes work a bit earlier than usual today, around 2. Think we’re having bangers, double cream mash & either baked beans or carrots & petitpois for tea. Probably the former as it’s less work! Might watch a film tonight. I shouldn’t say it but I do look forward to when DD isn’t in the house. She’s neurodivergent with possible ADHD & can be extremely challenging. Sometimes DH & I feel as if we’re walking on eggshells.

I was awake early this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. So annoying. But on the plus side it means my housework is done and my washing basket is empty!

Awful weather here, always the same at half term. We are going to visit family for a couple of hours this afternoon. Will pop something in the slow cooker before we go.

I've promised the dc a spooky film tonight so we will see how that goes 😬.

I didn’t realise the big day is this Monday, I hope it goes well, it will be nice to have lots of adult company.

We’re in the UK this weekend, we’ve hired a little airbnb as we were worried the smalls would find it confusing going back to our old flat for the weekend. We had a halloween party last night, so we’re all a bit tired from travel and a late night. Today we’re off to Madame Tussauds, a very close friend and our childrens uncle had his waxwork unveiled on Tuesday, so we’re off to see that. I think it will be quite exciting, but also possibly a bit odd, he’s coming with us so we can do a live comparison. Then he’s coming over for dinner as he hasn’t seen us or the children since we moved, so we’re all looking forward to that. It will probably be a lazy evening as we’ll be quite tired.

Morning everyone, we are baking and then decorating some halloween cupcakes and biscuits, then off for either a scooter ride or a puddle splash walk depending on the weather. Tonight is hotdogs, popcorn and a movie, my 5 year old dd is making everyone tickets for movie night and decorating some papercups with halloween stickers to hold the popcorn, she's also informed everyone tickets will be £1 😂, hope everyone has a lovely day x

I'm still in bed. DC at their grandparents so DH and I are enjoying the peace! I was about to get up I swear, but DCat has come and firmly deposited herself on me and clearly feels we're staying here. So who am I to argue.

DH and I don't have plans but I might suggest a walk. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.

Strictly later I guess. We only watch it for the DCs' sake usually but I don't want to miss a week and not know what's happened 🤣

For a change I’m actually fairly busy. It is currently the break in my 4 hour German course.
Then I’m heading into town later to go to the new Uniqlo store that opened last week and pick up some basics.
Then dinner and theatre with my adult DD.

Drinking my tea then off to the allotment to put the greenhouse to bed, hope to miss the rain. And have just been reminded there is washing in the washing machine to hang up. DH sleeping off a late shift at work, but both of us are at home tonight which makes a nice change - I’d better cook something above average for supper.

Am currently back in my cozy bed after having 2 rounds of tea and toast. The washing has dried overnight thanks to the dehumidifier. It looks bright and sunny but cold today, i may try an open water swim. If I'm brave enough. Dinner will be last nights pizza which was a takeaway but loads left. Need to go shopping too but am in no rush.

Slow morning here everyone slept in which was good.

Cosy home day today, not much planned. Probably get the playdough out, got some laundry to do, just an autumnal hibernation sort of day

It's also the big duvet change this weekend, always a turning point of the year (well twice a year). So today is getting the winter duvets down and airing them hopefully outside then will swap the summer ones out tomorrow probably.

Pulled pork tacos for dinner. DH is out tonight, I'll probably settle down with the netflix fire thing I love this, and get some reading done. Also made a apple and blackberry crumble the other day so will probably finish that off aswell

I am feeling very sluggish today as just started antibiotics yesterday for a chest infection that has been making feel rough for weeks - hoping they work some magic soon! So I’ve come back to bed with cappuccino to summon up some energy for the day.

DD2 just back from football match which DH thankfully took her to as it was a 9am kick off. Waiting for her to get out of shower so I can get washed and ready and then hoping to feel more human.

Plan is a trip to Post Office to return unwanted items (3 pairs of boots for me - can’t find any I like and loungewear for DDs that they say looks naff!)
Then visit to grandparents for an hour or so.
Back home to carve pumpkins that other grandparents brought from their garden in the week - they are huge so I’m planning to make pumpkin pie to avoid waste.
DD2 wants to go shopping for trainers with birthday money but I’m not sure I’ve got it in me as working tomorrow and don’t want to overstretch myself - I’m still at that shivery no energy stage - but I feel guilty that they’ve had quite a boring HT so may just bite the bullet, caffeine up and take them.
Then home to pizza and film.
Early night- maybe a bath and book.

I was rudely pulled from my bed at 7am by the postman (yes, yes, you lot and your mucky minds!). He deposited a parcel on my doorstep in a hurry after I flung my bedroom window open and yelled at him to drop and run 😆

This evening, I'm going to my first ever murder mystery event. I hope I'm not murdered!

In bed having a Mimosa. Normally would be outdoors with my hobbies. But it was raining (not anymore) so got detoured.

@JMAngel1 aww thanks! I'm quite a homebody we all are so love days like this. We try and have one day in and one day out each weekend, DC need both types! Hope you feel better soon!

I had a bit of a lie in but had to get up for the chimney sweep, so managed to hang some laundry out and tidy the kitchen whilst he was here.
Met my friend for our Saturday run, now I'm drinking coffee and watching the birds on the feeder in the garden.

Dh is at work, ds2 is on DofE expedition and ds1 is still in bed so it's very peaceful here.

I'm watching ds1 play rugby this afternoon, then I need to bake a birthday cake for my mum and ds's girlfriend is round for dinner. Ds2 will be back later tired and filthy so I'll sort him out. He's supposed to be at a Halloween party tonight but I'm expecting he might be too tired, so we'll see.

I'm at the hairdressers, then meeting up with the dog sitter for familiarisation before going away next week. Rugby tonight through gritted teeth with slow cooker Asian beef and wine.

We are just having a bacon and egg sandwich brunch then will get ready for the cinema and food later. I've creaked my neck and it's absolutely bloody killing me but I'm going to power through as the dc's have been looking forward to seeing Trolls for ages!

Need to pop to Asda/chemist and get some heat pads and deep heat.

Italian booked for after the cinema, dc's choice. Then it will be home for baths and pjs.

Think oh and I may watch The Reckoning tonight. I have been putting it off as heard some scenes are horrible. Anybody watched it?

Good morning Lucysmam and others. I had a rotten night's sleep and got up early. So the bed has been stripped, bedding washed and dried and ready to put back on. I have done a food shop at Aldi and put on a slow cooker pot of lentil soup. I've cleaned the bathroom so far, and I'm about to dust and hoover. The tiredness is hitting hard now but I think I have visitors this afternoon. Gammon steak for dinner tonight. Enjoy your day everyone

A cozy curling up on the sofa day here. DD had a sleepover with a friend here last night, she is beyond tired this morning and hormonal so I think she will be gaming, watching movies today and I will be pottering. I don’t feel too guilty about not doing much as the last 2 days we’ve been out and about.

Need to pop out to the shops a bit later to get something for tea - I fancy sausage, mash and greens while watching Strictly. If it’s not absolutely pouring down here we might pop out for a burst of fresh air to the local woods later - will try bribery with hot chocolates when we get home!

Good morning everyone, I'm currently drinking a coffee. Woke up with a headache so a slow start. DH is at work. I had to pick up DS this morning who had been at a Halloween party and stayed at a friend's. He was starving and so we've had bacon sandwiches. DS had two rounds, we are going to my mum and dad's for sausage baguettes later but am sure as a teenage boy he'll eat all that too!

I'm just about to have a tidy round and I've got some washing on. This afternoon if the weather holds I'm going to play a few holes of golf or at least have a practice. No idea what DS is doing this afternoon, he'll either hole up in his room or want to go and meet his friends.

Then it's a take away and Strictly tonight!

Oh I love a wander around the range but it always proves expensive.

Ive made pizza dough and a jelly as we’re going for dinner at brothers tonight for games night and they’ll make their own pizzas there.

Dd is making Halloween decorations out of an old sheet which we will hang on washing line near front door. I told dd to draw scary ghost faces on the sheet. She’s made it a cute face 😂She’s now making bats too.

I’ve got coffee and will make lunch soon for kids. Hoping baby goes down for a sleep as she didn’t get off until 2am last night.
