@Stanislas that would be great thank you!

I'm in Durham next Tuesday if it would be ok to collect then - I can then pass on to @lifelongfrugaleer at some point next week if that's ok?

I can either collect at around 10.15am or after 4.30 if one is preferable?

We had no snow this morning. DS was very disappointed as the weather forecast made it sound like we'd be snowed in 😂

Half an inch on my side of town (much of which is now ice) but hardly on the other side, according to DH.

SinnerBoy · 20/11/2024 05:25

It snowed at 10:30 last night and my daughter and our refugee (both 11) girl ran out and up and down the path squealing in delight. It's mostly gone, apart from on cars now.

@Someaddedsugar I’ve pm d you. Most grateful I’ve so much material.

lifelongfrugaleer · 20/11/2024 10:56

Thanks you x

Someaddedsugar · 21/11/2024 06:49

That's lovely @SinnerBoy!

Thanks @Stanislas - I'll have a look on my laptop for the message when I get to work 😊.

Has the Santa bus been mentioned yet for those in Durham? My niece was asking about it last weekend but I wasn't sure which company runs it...

Go north east normally do Santa bus. Not sure about Arriva

Stanislas · 21/11/2024 20:05

I’ve added a kimono length on a roll which I bought in Japan and wondered if the DD would enjoy working out how they made a kimono which could be unpicked and washed and put back on its roll. I’ve also got various lengths which would make basic designs if she would like them .its lovely to be able to help as it must be really hard to be a student these days. I hasd a full grant in the 60s but lived at home.

PickAChew · 21/11/2024 21:05

That sounds like lovely stuff @Stanislas - such a shame you've had to give up sewing. I picked it back up again in a big way a few years back but it's so much harder on my back and my eyes than it was in my yoof and I can't do much hand sewing any more.

AlviarinAesSedai · 22/11/2024 14:34

Santa bus is back

AlviarinAesSedai · 23/11/2024 11:18

I hope everyone who wanted snow got. The buses aren’t running here. So snow day it is. I hate the bloody stuff.⛄️☃️❄️❄️☃️⛄️
Beamish is closed. But there is a Christmas fare at Beamish hall still on. New college Christmas fare still on.

SinnerBoy · 23/11/2024 11:38

It's pissing down in coastal Newcastle.

AlviarinAesSedai · 23/11/2024 12:11

Lucky you@SinnerBoy . I will trade. There’s enough snow to build a ⛄️. I need to like it go. Lol

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/11/2024 12:41

Fucking snow. We were meant to be going to Harrogate today for the stitching show.
£30 wasted

SinnerBoy · 23/11/2024 13:03

Oh no! I've just spent £34 on tickets for Wicked, including a £3 online booking fee! What a rip off! That's at the Odeon, as I couldn't get any at the Jam Jar. Robbing swine!

PickAChew · 23/11/2024 13:15

We got a few inches, this morning, despite met office insisting we would only get sleet. It's just getting rained on and turning to slush, now. Greggs actually looked pretty, first thing 😂

DS2 is poorly and I can't be tempted to trudge along to the college. I value my coccyx too much.

AlviarinAesSedai · 23/11/2024 13:17

@lifelongfrugaleer would the tickets be able to swapped to tomorrow? The weather is supposed to be better. It’s raining here now thank goodness ☔️.

Someaddedsugar · 23/11/2024 18:02

Thanks @AlviarinAesSedai - I've passed the link on!

It was snowy here this morning, headed to Durham to see family and the car was sliding all over on their estate and came home to most of the snow having melted!

Such a shame @lifelongfrugaleer!

lifelongfrugaleer · 23/11/2024 18:26

Nope I tried that. And by the time it’s cleared enough dd was on with her project She didn’t want to leave her corset mid boning. Always next year

lifelongfrugaleer · 24/11/2024 09:12

Yeah they are letting people use their tickets today

PickAChew · 24/11/2024 13:34

Great news, @lifelongfrugaleer - I bet it was quiet, yesterday.

PickAChew · 29/11/2024 19:20

Windows has closed down 😱😢
