Tangfastics.
Fizzy drinks without sweeteners in.

Edited

You can still get Tangfastics?

winowin · 23/10/2023 00:49

Can you still get echo bars?

MarieKlepto · 23/10/2023 00:50

Yes to Phileas Fogg's Mignon Morceaux. Also a box of multi flavoured custards in sachets - vanilla to chocolate to rasperry that my granny used to buy when I was a kid. And the demise of Redwoods veggie offerings that were so good. Bought over by Heather Mills and rebranded as V-Bites. All available on the website but next to nowhere to be found in supermarkets anymore.

Northernsouloldies · 23/10/2023 00:51

Moray cup red juice.
Lucky tatties.. With a small plastic toy within or a 5p bit.

MrsFezziwig · 23/10/2023 00:51

Third vote for Brannigan’s beef and mustard crisps.

Blueberrycreampie · 23/10/2023 00:51

Peanut Treets.

FoodMishap · 23/10/2023 00:52

Sainsburys seem to have stopped making their bacon brunch. I loved that

Those cod in parsley sauce, boil in the bag

I’m going to try Bratkartoffeln as a substitute for bacon brunch. Can’t find a brand name so I’m guessing Lidl or Aldi.

You can still get boil in the bag cod in parsley sauce.

PaganOfTheGoodTimes · 23/10/2023 00:57

Oh loads, basically any time I love a product they sound its death knell. Most loved were

Turkish delight options hot chocolate powder
Sainsburys elderflower cyder
Tescos rum baba in indivual servings. This one hurts because they 'new and improved' it and made it shite, then it disappeared.

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 23/10/2023 00:58

Sara Lee Chocolate Gateau

I was going to say the exact same thing!

Safeway Savers ham - how could something so cheap and basic be so lovely?!

Ricicles - why did they get the chop on the grounds of poor nutritional value (I believe?) when other sugary cereal is still very much available?

Treebark · 23/10/2023 00:59

A third vote for Pacers, they were ace

Birds Eye long grain rice with chicken ready meal.

Back in the nineties,Tesco did a spicy chicken sandwich with Chinese leaf lettuce, I loved that

McDonald's Big Breakfast

Fruit pies before everything became too sweet!

FatherJackHackettsUnderpantsHamper · 23/10/2023 01:00

Third vote for Brannigan’s beef and mustard crisps.

Fourth!

BensonStabler · 23/10/2023 01:16

Visa-Versa’s chocolates (kind of like minstrels but the brown shelled one had white chocolate inside and the white shell had brown inside)

Pyramint (chocolate pyramid with gooey minty centre)

Fuse bar

Spira

McDonald’s Chicken legend & caramel sundae.

the original tooty fruities, jellytots, fruit pastels, and smarties, and wham bars. Oh and oh flavour of M&S’s Percy pigs before they killed them too.

penny sweet mixtures full of sugar, gelatin and additives lol before everything started to taste like harbo’s, ie you have a cola bottle that actually tastes like cola, and a jelly ring and milk bottles that don’t all taste like the same thing!

Candleyankee · 23/10/2023 01:17

The proper old sugar puffs!

bendmeoverbackwards · 23/10/2023 01:18

Kellogg’s Puffa Puffa Rice cereal
Chinese spare rib crisps (black shiny packet, from late 80s), no one ever remembers these!
Ben and Jerry’s coffee coffee buzz buzz buzz ice cream

BinturongsSmellOfPopcorn · 23/10/2023 01:19

Another vote for both Phileas Fogg's Mignon Morceaux and the Tesco rum baba.

Back in the 80, when French set yogurts were the fancy new thing, there used to be a 4-pack of different flower flavours. Can't remember what they all were, I think one was elderflower and my favourite one was geranium.

And around 15 years ago there was a vegetarian pie - hot water crust pastry, looked like a pork pie but was filled with vegetables - the name of which now escapes me.

Pyramintdreamer · 23/10/2023 01:20

Pyramint

Blueberry muller fruit corner

Greggs meat and potato pastie

Cross post with pyramint! Am amazed as no one else ever remembers this

Goodornot · 23/10/2023 01:24

I loved pyramint

80sMum · 23/10/2023 01:25

Force breakfast cereal.

The slogan on the box was "High o'er the fence leaps Sunny Jim. Force is the food that raises him."

Does anyone else remember it? I haven't seen it for a while, so I assume it's no longer available.

Moominprincess · 23/10/2023 01:25

Flying saucer sweets with white sherbet in instead of the awful fruit flavoured sherbet they replaced them with.

YourSpleenIsDamp · 23/10/2023 01:26

I was talking to DS1 earlier about how awesome Drifters were 😋

Togekiss · 23/10/2023 01:29

Cadbury Snaps.

I think about them every few months, no word of a lie.

missingyears · 23/10/2023 01:29

I can't read this thread because it will make me think about discontinued foods that I haven't thought about for ages and make me really want them.

missingyears · 23/10/2023 01:34

I once ate something called a "doughnut burger" in a popular chain pub. It was a sugar doughnut cut in half, with a burger inside. At the time I had a terrible hangover and it felt like heaven. A few weeks later the pub changed their menu and it was discontinued. I have never forgotten the joy of the doughnut burger, and I have never seen one on a menu since
