Out today at a sports event and a bloody massive dog bowled me over. Took me right off my feet and I hit my head really hard.
In fairness the guy was very apologetic but ouch!!

Just want a moan.

My own ddog pulled me over on the beach last year.. Proper banged my head on the sand. Was mortified.. Adding to injury ddog turned round and saw me flat out and bounded over checking I was OK. So now I was a beached lady wearing a husky. Very undignified..

AbbeyGailsParty · 22/10/2023 20:06

It should have been on a lead.
Any blurred vision, nausea, headache, symptoms you’re worried about go to A&E, tell them you’ve had a head injury today.

vodkaredbullgirl · 22/10/2023 20:07

Hope your head is ok.

Poppydieu · 22/10/2023 20:09

My friend's dog ran into my leg so hard i thought it was broken at first. Very heavy golden lab.

Massive German shepherd for me.

St Bernard yesterday, right into my knee. Thought she’d dislocated it.

When I used to meet up with a load of dog owners in the morning after dropping off my dd to school, one owner was knocked over by a lab and turned out she actually broke her hip!

I can well imagine, I hit the ground so hard I could easily have broken something.

Thanks, none of that thankfully.

Just been for a bath though as my whole body is sore.

Can I join in with the moaning please ? My own dog chased after a ball thrown by DH and lunged sideways into my knee / lower leg .It was painful at the time but really started to give me problems a few weeks after. Can’t squat or sit cross legged . Lots of aches and pains and still suffering months later . Feels like knee just drops occasionally and the whole knee is very swollen still.
My other dog tripped me up one night in the pitch black and I landed completely flat on back ,was such a shock but no lasting damage !

Sparklynewname · 22/10/2023 21:20

My idiot Labrador hit me with a tree a few years ago. She was never content to just have a stick. The bruise I had on my thigh was so lumpy that you could see it through clothes and I couldn’t sit for a week.

Moan away!! Have you seen anyone about your knee? That sounds really painful.

Thank you ! Yes I saw a physio at the drs , she said should heal with time but hasn’t I think it’s set off osteoarthritis as mum had it at my age so I will have to go back to drs.
I hope you are ok yourself and no lasting damage . It’s bad enough when it’s your own dog but some random dog even worse! I think large breeds should be kept under close supervision.

We got chatting to a bloke in the pub at the weekend who had the most enormous dog. He said it was 16 stone. It was muzzled because he said it doesn't like women (?). Why would you have a dog like that?

CentrifugalBumblePuppy · 23/10/2023 06:43

Walking DDog at the local lakes a few weeks ago. As I’m bending down to scoop up his poop, huge XL bully comes out of nowhere to play, and knocks me face first into the warm pile (I use a walking stick, so not the best balance to start with).

But not just my dog’s poo. Oh no! Some dirty bastard hadn’t cleaned up after their dog, so landed in that too.

I didn’t have ‘Cover hair & self in dog poop’ on my 2023 Disaster Bingo card lol.

Justleaveitblankthen · 23/10/2023 06:56

I was chatting to a chap with his labrador when walking my own.
As I stroked and spoke fondly down to his Lab, it reared it's head happily and butted me square in the nose.
Blood pouring, the poor chap was mortified.
I walked off holding tissues to my face, trilling about how fine I was really.

It took a day for the pain to go away.

ditavonteesed · 23/10/2023 07:19

My Ddog pulled me over a couple of years ago when she was on lead and another dog attacked her, broke my nose and lost 2 teeth.
Hope your ok.

GoodOldEmmaNess · 23/10/2023 07:41

I used to have an Italian Spinone. Massive daft unit. Since then I have instictively bent at the knees every time a large lollopist canine heads my way, to avoid the agony of a knee forced to bend in the wrong direction. Still no protection against being bowled over though! Hope you fell better soon OP.

ImSoHappyILiveInAWorldThatHasOctobers · 23/10/2023 07:42

My black lab did the same when I was younger. Walking our two ddogs round some fields and saw a man we vaguely knew walking his so chatted and walked together. My stupid boy ran full pelt from behind into the back of my knees and I went down like a sack of spuds mid sentence. Worst part was I got up and neither he nor I acknowledged it 🙈😂

GoodOldEmmaNess · 23/10/2023 07:45

I'm ashamed to say that as an adolescent my Spinone ran directly at a man on a bike, apparently having no understanding whatsoever that a bike and a Spinone cannot both occupy the same space at the same time. Luckily the bike rider was unhurt by his fall and incredibly kind

How would the chap know it was going to grow up to dislike women unless he had a crystal ball? Sounds like he is being responsible muzzling it, is he supposed to put it down or pass the problem on to someone else? Dogs have issues/hang ups, if you take responsibility for the dog for life then you deal with it, The mind boggles!

Daiyu · 23/10/2023 07:52

Not quite the same but last summer I tripped over my cat while going up garden steps in the middle of the night (insomnia) and fell backwards on paving slabs - still not quite sure how I didn't injure myself more than a lump on the back of my head!
