Taylor Swift gift for DD10

My DD is a HUGE Taylor Swift fan, and I have managed to save up, and by some miracle, buy two tickets for the live show next year.

I'm going to give the tickets as a Christmas gift - I know my DD will be so happy. I'd like to put together a small Taylor goodie bag full of things 10 year olds tend to love (t-shirts, keyring, books, stickers - that sort of thing), with the tickets hidden at the bottom. The problem is the official merch is so expensive, and things are a bit tight now this year. Usually I like to support artists and buy from direct official merch sites but I don't think it's an option this year.

I've looked on Amazon and it's reams of tat and stuff of dubious quality - I can't see the wood for the trees. Does anyone have any recommendations or ideas for Taylor goodies that won't break the bank and not equate to the GDP of a small country?

All ideas so very welcome. My daughter is a huge fan and whilst I know she will be so grateful for the tickets, on Christmas day printed tickets alone might seem a bit small.

Have you looked on Etsy?

Weareoutofwine · 21/10/2023 08:39

Good idea - I haven't looked at Etsy in ages (as on strick budget) so had completely forgot about it.

Love your username - one of my favourite Carter songs!

Definitely Etsy

Also there's a whole swapping friendship bracelets things at events so you could get beads etc for making those?

Goodbyeimgoinghome · 21/10/2023 08:42

Beading/friendship bracelet kit so she can make friendship bracelets to swap at the concert.

Goodbyeimgoinghome · 21/10/2023 08:43

Cross post!

Red Bubble have some cute stickers. I bought DD the 'swift children' cat sticker.

There is an Eras calendar on Amazon .
I have got that for my much older daughter!

Weareoutofwine · 21/10/2023 08:46

I didn't know about the friendship bracelet swap. Do fans tend to take a couple and give them to people near them in the crowd?

Yes!

Sometimes on etsy or fb you can buy iron on vinyl stickers for tshirts for a few pounds then get a budget supermarket tshirt to put it on.
Also there seems to be a theme of glittery clothes for the concert so maybe a skirt or bomber jacket she could also wear for Christmas day?

HermioneWeasley · 21/10/2023 08:53

I’ve got stuff for my DD from Ali express. Quality is generally good. I also got a dupe of the purple cardigan from
etsy and it’s really good. Cost about £30.

The official merchandise is eye watering. The tickets were DD's birthday present a few months ago and I ordered an official tour T-shirt so she would have something on her birthday and it still hasn't arrived!

As pp said I'm going to give DD the friendship bracelet making kit so she can get started on those and have some to wear or swap. Following for more ideas.

Hi 👋🏻 we are doing the same for our DD who is 10. Very excited for the Christmas present reveal. We have a bracelet making kit and are busy making bracelets to give on Christmas Day. I just got the kit from Amazon and am making bracelets with song names on. Your DD will be so thrilled with the tickets.

Unithorn · 21/10/2023 09:05

I agree get a friendship bracelet kit. The official merch is poor quality, takes ages to arrive and is way overpriced; etsy all the way! There's also an eras tour magazine by future publishing which comes with some free gifts and is under a tenner.

I bought this for mug for DD recently. It’s nice quality. I also bought this composition notebook but it’s sold out on Amazon now

DHgate have eras tour hoodies

gotomomo · 21/10/2023 09:18

There's this whole dressing up thing too which isn't about merchandise, dsd has a pink skirt already and two ladies bought clothes in the charity shop I volunteer at yesterday just to see the movie!

Then there's the friendship bracelet thing, or just a pretty beaded bracelet in pinks

Have a look on Vinted, I just typed "Taylor Swift" in the search bar and there's 500+ results.
These sunglasses are nice and are £4 (without postage) -

Don't forget that on Vinted you can send offers to people for a lower price! Also look at the sellers other items to save on postage.

Does she have crocs because there's also croc charms on there 🤣

I ordered a cardigan a while back and it took months and months to arrive, the quality was honestly awful and I'd have returned it had I not waited so long to get it! Some of the dupes are much better and also support smaller artists.

MBM18 · 21/10/2023 09:23

Also, girls tend to wear really sparkly outfits to the concert (have a look at videos on YouTube). Given it's Christmas, they'll be lots of sparkly clothes about. You could get her a sparkly top or dress to wear to the concert and put that in with the tickets as well.
(Can you tell I really enjoy putting together gift boxes like these Grin)

I really like the idea of song names too! I'm definitely going to buy a very LARGE bracelet kit.

This thread is now making me very excited for Christmas.
