Taylor Swift gift for DD10

My DD is a HUGE Taylor Swift fan, and I have managed to save up, and by some miracle, buy two tickets for the live show next year.

I'm going to give the tickets as a Christmas gift - I know my DD will be so happy. I'd like to put together a small Taylor goodie bag full of things 10 year olds tend to love (t-shirts, keyring, books, stickers - that sort of thing), with the tickets hidden at the bottom. The problem is the official merch is so expensive, and things are a bit tight now this year. Usually I like to support artists and buy from direct official merch sites but I don't think it's an option this year.

I've looked on Amazon and it's reams of tat and stuff of dubious quality - I can't see the wood for the trees. Does anyone have any recommendations or ideas for Taylor goodies that won't break the bank and not equate to the GDP of a small country?

All ideas so very welcome. My daughter is a huge fan and whilst I know she will be so grateful for the tickets, on Christmas day printed tickets alone might seem a bit small.

Do you have TikTok? Search Taylor Swift Outfits on there and you'll see lots of people showing their outfits for the tour to give you an idea. You'll also see about the friendship bracelets on there too.

Those who attend the concerts usually pick a specific "era" to theme their outfit to! The "speak now" era is purple - so a purple sparkly outfit would be very fitting for the concert!

I'm now fully behind a themed outfit - and enjoying looking through Vinted and Etsy.

What about getting a craft kit so that she can use it to design her own T-shirt for going to the concert? Maybe choose a basic T-shirt that fits with the theme of her favourite album? For example a red t shirt for the Red album.

Lots of places online do framed lyrics - could you get her a print of her favourite song for her wall?

I saw on Facebook a place that makes personalised scratch cards. If you get that so she has to scrape it off to reveal ‘we are going to see Taylor Swift on xx-xx-xxxx’ rather than spotting the tickets straight away.

The Taylor Swift Cardigan is much easier than it looks to make. If you use acrylic wool it cost about £18 for smallest size. It is supposed to be loose. The pattern is free on the lionbrand website

If you wanted to go a little bit fancier on the ticket you could get something like this (Rather than just printing off a bit of paper, it obviously won't work to access the venue)

This is lovely, your DD must have been so happy. Mine would have loved it if I could do this. My mum would have done this if I still had her. Do you think someone who's never picked up a knitting needle could get there in six months?

I will link to pattern later. I would look at some youtube tutorials on cabling and see how you find it. Try knitting some squares
I find the pattern very intuitive but thats just me.
The most difficult bit for a beginner would the increasing in the sleeves. I will also see if i can find the tutorial

Temu have make up bags, t shirts, badges, mugs etc all a few pounds. I bought some for my DD and their great quality to be fair

Just need the tickets now! Can’t get them anywhere. If anyone knows of a way please let me know. I contacted Wembley hospitality but they wanted £700+ each 😔

Ask her what her favourite era/album is before buying any clothes. We can direct you to what would do then.

I'm 44 and I looovvve her. Do yourself a favour and listen to the music too. She's incredible.

Shein also has some TS bits - I've got my DD a bracelet making kit, a make up bag with 'I'm a swiftie', a t-shirt with 'it's me, hi, I'm the problem it's me' on the front and a sequin skirt
My also 10 year old will get a mock ticket that I had made via Etsy, was around £5. She's going to go nuts in Christmas Day!

Well done to those who managed to keep their tickets a secret. I was lucky that DD's birthday was so close as couldn't have done it for long. Need to get the bracelet sets for xmas.
