Llandudno? https://stdavidshospice.org.uk/. No idea about schools though.

Don’t most reasonably-sized towns have a hospice or hospice service these days? I’d start with thinking about the area or town you want to live in and that has schools you can live with and then Google for the nearest hospice.

Hove (expensive housing)
Worthing (hospice inland a little)
Both Sussex coast.

I live between the 2😉

How close to work do you want to live?

Round here the hospices tend to be in the same towns as the general hospitals and the seaside towns tend to be smaller. That might apply in a lot of places unless you lived in a big port town/city?

But there are a reasonable number of places round here where you could live by the sea and within a 30-40 minute drive commute to the hospices I think.

I'm not sure about the schools out in the seaside towns.

I'm based in East Anglia and am thinking of the hospices in Ipswich and Colchester.

Ayr has a hospice and there's a children's hospice nearby as well as being commuting distance to hospices in Glasgow.
Free prescriptions.. free university fees. Ayr has great schools and lovely coastline and beach.

Ty Hafan is a children's hospice right by the sea in south Wales. They are looking for staff at the moment and it's a really lovely area.

Not a hospice but Dartmouth Community Hospital - amazing views over the sea.

Once went to a talk by the consultant at Pilgrim's Hospice in Canterbury - asked us all about what we wanted for our careers, we all gave very earnest answers, then said he'd picked his job as he wanted to live by the sea.

CMOTDibbler · 19/10/2023 20:17

Southport has a hospice

Every hospice is looking for staff!

The independent ones (which is most of them) often don't pay Agenda for Change which means they struggle to get ward nurses.

Think highly of the hospice in Ayr, are they not still being refurbished and located at EACH though at the moment? I suppose that's not forever though!
